Paul told us to follow his example, assuring us he had given us the full council of God straight from Jesus.
Paul said we should do as he did, claimed he was caught up into heaven and given the Gospel directly by
Jesus, that all men would be judged according to his gospel, that he had declared to people the whole
counsel of God, that he kept back nothing profitable from the people he taught, and that he was the apostle
to the gentiles... But some here are acting like Paul is unworthy of having written Scripture. How odd.

But he did. That which has become useless by virtue of being replaced by something superior is void. The law was the only thing against us.

Having abolished in his flesh the hostility, the law of commandments in orders, for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; Ephesians 2:15
Blotting out the written orders that were against us, which were contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; Colossians 2:14
Abolished
G2673 καταργέω katargeo (kat-ar-ǰe'-ō) v.
1. to be entirely idle (useless).
2. to render entirely idle (useless).

Eph 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

When Jesus died the ordinances that pointed to Jesus as the saviour were fulfilled.

It was by faith that people believe and obeyed. By faith the impossible was achieved and by faith Abraham was willing to give his only son a a scrifice for God. We no longer need to follow the ordinances that pointed to Jesus. We can put our faith directly in the Death and resurrection of Jesus. By faith we are saved.

But the difference between the ordinances and the 10 commandments are clear.

The ordinances were given to point people to Jesus and help them to understand the gosple.
The 10 commandments are priciples of law that clearly define sin.

Jesus did not make a lawless world. No law = no sin.

Jesus did die to save us from the sin, but the law is still in place.

DO not forget the greatest commandment, to love GOD above all else.
The greatest is this commandment.
Deu 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
Deu 6:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Does this only apply t Israel? No t is for all Gods children.

And how do we understand how we do this in greater detail..

Exo 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Exo 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
Exo 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Exo 20:6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
Exo 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

People don't seem to have any issue with the first three but the sabbath...... People don't like to change...

Or that he didn't receive it from God or that all scripture isn't God breathed.

...."Constantine, a convert to Christianity, decreed that Sunday should be a day of rest and worship.

Constantine, a convert to Christianity, decreed that Sunday should be a day of rest and worship." Source:https://www.britannica.com/science/week

Source:https://everlastingtruths.com/2017/10/06/when-did-christians-start-meeting-on-sunday/
"...The New Testament indicates that the early church began meeting on Sunday from day one. The church began on a Sunday. The day of Pentecost, the day when the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples and thousands of Jews believed the gospel, was a Sunday. Pentecost Sunday was the beginning of the New Testament church."

Messianicscattend synagogue and worship Jesus.
If Constantine declared a day of rest in 321 AD, then it follows that there were no Roman Adventists.
During the first 3 centuries of Christianity because they worked seven (or eight days) a week.

Adventism started in the USA in the nineteenth century.

I read somewhere that Ellen White stated that Christians always rested on the sabbath.
Then Constantine changed the seventh day to the first day. I have seen that many times
in SDA relies. They are wrong on that one.

"all judges and townships and all occupations of trade rest on the venerable day of the sun."

Constantine did not decree a day of rest and worship but only a day of rest.

Indeed. It's like they are saying Paul's Scripture is not inspired.
Paul was the author of many letters in the scripture and the apostle to the Gentiles.

2 Peter 3:15-16
And regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to
the wisdom given him, wrote to you, as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things
,
in which there are some things that are hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort,
as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction.

They could not be saying that!

Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Did God Almighty our loving Creator give us 10 commandments that were against us and contrary to us.

No

The flesh is not able to obey them ..

But this Spiritual law is a reflection of love.

It is clear that what is blotted out is not the 10 commandments.

If everyone perfectly obeyed the 10 commandments in the hearts like Jesus, the world would be a perfect place.
Paul said the written law had effectively passed or was blotted out, replaced by grace.

The law of Christ is now written in our hearts and this is the new covenant.

Written on the heart does not mean the law has past away.

Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

Rom 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
Rom 7:12-13
12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. 13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.

Again, I'm not a member of UCG.

The articles offered regarding the Sabbath and sourced from UCG is an effort to show the harmony in the structure of Sabbath teachings that apply even after Jesus death and return to Heaven.

The opposition to Jesus and Paul's teachings and the lengths reached here is astonishing,I admit.

One member claims those who keep the Sabbath lack faith. Which is their way of claiming ,aren't Christian. Pathetic! And laughable on its face for obvious reasons unknown to them.

Others rely on what they sarcastically refer to as the reverend chatgpt so to copy and paste a full length finding they did not read or they'd know their source renounced Scripture in Acts.

There is nothing wrong with observing the Sabbath.

The Sabbath was a gift, remains a gift,to all people. Not just the Jews.

Which is why God told Moses to remind people of his Sabbath gift when Moses received God's 10 Commands.
The Sabbath was a gift for man and in practice before any such people as Jews arrived.

Which is why when the Hebrews were given their commandments God reminded them of his day of rest.

And really, who insists a day with God alone,no distractions by the world, just following his lead and serving his will alone for a day, is something to attack and oppose?

Here's a possible answer. Believe it or not there are so called self identified Christians who extricate Judaism and Jews from their belief system entirely. Christian Identity is one of their labels.

We celebrate materialism once a year going into debt for a holiday called Christmas.
We don't know that was Christs birthday.

And Easter? Chocolate, bunny's and colored eggs honor his resurrection?

If a Christian wants to eat clean, even according to Scripture, what's wrong with that?

Beware those who insist it isn't Christian to honor God's gift to man,the Sabbath. To eat clean,or honor his festivals.

God isn't going to send you to Hell for that.

While he may have questions for those who mock, ridicule, apply sarcastic derision, against those who do.

Christianity, people of The Way. It's a relationship between the individual temple housing within themselves God's Holy Spirit, and Eternal Sovereign God.
NOT a cult of the Borg.
Exodus 20:2 - I am the Lord your God, who brought YOU out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. The Israelites.

Moses gives the reason the Sabbath was given to the nation of Israel: “Remember that YOU were slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought YOU out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore, the Lord your God has commanded YOU to observe the Sabbath day.” (Deuteronomy 5:15)

Exodus 35:1 - Then Moses assembled all the congregation of the sons of Israel, and said to them, “These are the things that the LORD has commanded YOU to do: 2. For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a holy day, a Sabbath of complete rest to the LORD; whoever does any work on it shall be put to death. 3. You shall not kindle a fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day.” The congregation of THE SONS OF ISRAEL, God said to them.

Sabbath observance was a sign between God and Israel: “The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant. It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he abstained from work and rested.” (Exodus 31:16-17)

Sabbath keeping with all its rules and regulations, was part of a covenant with Israel (Exodus 16:23, 29; 31:12-18; 35:1-3; Leviticus 19:30; 23:2-3, 32; Numbers 15:32-36; 28:1-10; 29:39-40; I Chronicles. 23:30-31; II Chronicles 31:2-4; Isaiah 1:13; Amos 8:5; Nehemiah 10:31) that is not binding on Christians under the new covenant.

Colossians 2:16 - Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day— 17 things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.

Hebrews 4:9 - So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. (NASB) Notice that the Greek word "sabbatismos" here is used nowhere else in the Bible.

W. E. Vine, Greek Dictionary points out:

Sabbath rest (4520) (sabbatismos from sabbatízo = keep the Sabbath) literally means a keeping of a sabbath or a keeping of days of rest. It is used in this passage not in the literal sense (meaning to keep a specific day, the "Sabbath" day) but to describe a period of rest for God’s people which is modeled after and is a fulfillment of the traditional Sabbath.

SABBATISMOS a Sabbath-keeping, is used in Heb. 4:9, R.V., "a Sabbath rest," A.V. marg., "a keeping of a Sabbath" (akin to sabbatizoµ, to keep the Sabbath, used, e.g., in Ex. 16:30, not in the N.T.); here the Sabbath-keeping is the perpetual Sabbath rest to be enjoyed uninterruptedly by believers in their fellowship with the Father and the Son, in contrast to the weekly Sabbath under the Law.

Because this Sabbath rest is the rest of God Himself, its full fruition is yet future, though believers now enter into it. In whatever way they enter into divine “rest,” that which they enjoy is involved in an indissoluble relation with God. (Vine's Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words)

Yes, indeed, let’s see what Jesus says in His own words: Matthew 5 which you quoted but left out an important part—verse 18. Jesus says that not one word of the old law shall pass away UNTILL—do you see that?? That is a time indicator. Until WHEN? Until the old Jewish law was fulfilled. Jesus said He came to fulfill the law. When Jesus died on the cross all of the Old Testament prophecy concerning him was fullfilled. Like Isaiah 53 and all of the Messianc prophecies in the Old Testament. This harmonizes completely with Col. 2:14 where it says He nailed it to His cross. And all of the scriptures in Hebrews that tell about the old law being “obsolete” and vanishing away”, “taking away the first so that He might establish the second”, bringing in a new and living way.

What you do not understand is that Jesus taught the Jews of His day to keep the old law. They were required to keep it. He did not tell them to break their own law. So, of course He told them to keep the Old Testament commandments. It was necessary for THEM to be saved—but it is NOT NECESSARY for us to be saved —or anyone after His death on the cross. Christ freed us from the BONDAGE of those old commandments, which were represented by Hagar, the concubine of Moses. We, in Christ are children of Sarah, the free woman. Galations 4. Paul says the old Jewish law was like a tutor to bring us to Christ, but once Christ had come WE Are NO LONGER UNDER A TUTOR. Also, in Galations. That means we are no longer under the old law.

Thank you, but lets take a deeper look at Mat 5:18. We can start at verse 17

Mat 5:17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill

Jesus plainly says He did not come to destroy the law or prophets (keep prophets in the back of your mind for verse 18) didn't come to destroy but to fulfill and fulfill can't mean the same as destroy and it doesn't. It means to fill full- like when one fill full their wedding covenant- does that mean one can commit adultery. No, of course not.

Original Word: πληρόω
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: pléroó
Pronunciation: play-ro'-o
Phonetic Spelling: (play-ro'-o)
Definition: To fill, to make full, to complete, to fulfill
Meaning: I fill, fulfill, complete.

18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled

First heaven and earth is still here and not ALL of the law and prophets have been fulfilled and Jesus said ALL, not until He goes to the Cross that many add to God's Word (warning Pro 30:5-6) which would make this out of harmony with Christs teaching and verse 19 we will get to next.

Can you please tell me when this has been fulfilled in the law and prophets?

Isa 25: 8 He will swallow up death forever,
And the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces;

The rebuke of His people
He will take away from all the earth;
For the Lord has spoken.
9 And it will be said in that day:
“Behold, this is our God;
We have waited for Him, and He will save us.

This is the Lord;
We have waited for Him;
We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.”

Which is a prophecy by the Prophet Isaiah in the OT that has not been fulfilled

Also seen in Revelation

Rev 21:4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

Jesus said not a jot or tittle can pass from His law until ALL is fulfilled which is when Jesus comes in the clouds. Which means not even something as small as a dot of an i or cross of a t can be removed from God's law because no one is above God.

Jesus promised He would not alter His words, and He keeps His promises

Psa 89:34 My covenant I will not break,
Nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips.

Which harmonizes with the next verse

. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Right here one should put away their foolish notions that God's law is only for Jews and Gentiles can worship other gods, vain His holy name, bow to idols, break His holy Sabbath day that He said He made for mankind, steal, covet, lie. Its nonsensical. And He said in breaking the least of these commandments affects our status in heaven i.e. Judgement, not until the cross.

Not only should we not break the least of these commandments, but we are also not to teach others to break them and least in heaven I do not believe one will be there is we look at the next verse

20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

Jesus condemned the Pharisees for keeping their own rules overing obeying the commandments of God Jesus quoting directly from the Ten Commandments. He calls this worshipping Him in vain and having our heart far from Him- see Mat 15:1-14 because He placed His law in our hearts and rebelling against God's law is rebelling against God Rom 8:7-8

What least commandments is Jesus referring to......He tells us plainly quoting directly from the Ten Commandments, using two as principles that He doesn't even want us to have thoughts that lead to breaking them because what we think about turns into actions and He wants us to change our hearts so instead of anger towards our brother it turns to compassion and thou shalt not murder would automatically be kept. Jesus tells us plainly what happens when we break the least of these commandments one would be in fear of sin and Judgement, but I guess its up to us if we choose to believe His teachings or not.

21 “You have heard that it was said to those [d]of old, ‘You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’ 22 But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother [e]without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’[f] shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, [g]‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of [h]hell fire. 23 Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. 25 Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge, the judge hand you over to the officer, and you be thrown into prison. 26 Assuredly, I say to you, you will by no means get out of there till you have paid the last penny.

27 “You have heard that it was said [i]to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to [j]sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to [k]sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.

Jesus came to save us from our sins Mat 1:21 which is breaking His law- His version- not a jot or tittle can pass 1 John 3:4 Rom 7:7 James 2:10-12 because we are not saved in our sins Heb 10:26-30 Jesus wants us to have a complete transformation depending on Him and His righteousness Psa 119:172 Isa 56:1-6 which is everlasting Psa 119:142

Trust Jesus and abide in Him, which means to love Him and keep His commandments John 15:10 following in His footsteps 1 John 2:6 and if we surrender to His will Psa 40:8 Heb 8:10 He is the one enabling us to keep His commandments John 14:15-18

Once we can ground ourselves in God's Truth Psa 119:151, it will help us with Paul's writings and Paul is a servant of Christ and this warning applies to him too, Paul never taught against what Jesus taught leading people to their own destruction- outside of heaven hence the warning of his writings 2 Peter 3:15-16

I pray this helps!

Understanding Exodus 20:2

Exo 20:2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of [a]bondage.

First lets back up to Exodus 19 before God gave them the Ten Commandments

Exo 19:3 And Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain, saying, “Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel: 4 ‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself. 5 Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. 6 And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.”

Wait a minute, is this what is stated in the New Covenant???

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

God's nation of Israel if they keep God's covenant was called to be a holy nation, a kingdom of priest and special treasure KJV says a peculiar people which NC is teaching the same thing as Israel always represented God's people. It was a name God gave to identify His people throughout the entire bible why the NC is still with Israel.

So this was stated right before given the Ten Commandments

What people may not realize is the great parallel of Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt which resents bondage and sin through the trials of wilderness for 40 years to their promise land and where we are today, Christ leading us through our trials of the wilderness into our promise land i.e. heaven.

Who is the one bringing us out of our bondage just as God did Israel? “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of [a]bondage.

This verse very much applies to us today. God is our Redeemer

Its also what Hebrews 4 is teaching.

Hebrews 4:1 Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. 2 For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, [a]not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.

Same gospel, same promise of rest. There are two rests in this passage, not one.

The rest here means this:

Original Word: κατάπαυσις
Part of Speech: Noun, Feminine
Transliteration: katapausis
Pronunciation: kah-tah'-pow-sis
Phonetic Spelling: (kat-ap'-ow-sis)
Definition: Rest
Meaning: (in the Old Testament of the rest attained by the settlement in Canaan), resting, rest, dwelling, habitation.

So its referring to the Israelites entering their rest in Canaan to their promise land. It bring us back to the wilderness too.

Telling us how many of the Israelites disobeyed and therefor did not enter their rest into the Promise Land

Heb 4:6 Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience,

So the Israelites didn't enter their rest due to disobedience

Which is why God designates a certain day saying in David

Heb 4"7 again He designates a certain day, saying in David, “Today,” after such a long time, as it has been said:

“Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts.”

This is reference to a direct quote from David showing how it applies to US

Psal 95:7Today, if you will hear His voice:
8 “Do not harden your hearts, as in the [c]rebellion,
As in the day of [d]trial in the wilderness,
9 When your fathers tested Me;
They tried Me, though they saw My work.
10 For forty years I was [e]grieved with that generation,
And said, ‘It is a people who go astray in their hearts,
And they do not know My ways.’
11 So I swore in My wrath,
‘They shall not enter My rest.’ ”

TODAY is the DAY to come out of our rebellion to Him, just as those in the trial of the wilderness, TODAY we ae in our trial- Hear God's voice TODAY, do not wait until tomorrow to obey God, Today is the day of our salvation, we do not know what tomorrow brings.

Heb 4:8 For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day.

The Israelites would have entered into their rest into the Promise Land much sooner had it not been for their disobedience. Before the Israelite entered into Canaan, Moses repeated the Ten Commandments 40 years later including the Sabbath commandment after God gave them at Mt Sinai for them to diligently keep and not break, for them to teach their children and their children childrens etc, so to claim Joshua before entering Canaan changed God's Sabbath is unbiblical because this is what Hebrews is referencing.

We are told what the Israelites profaned in the wilderness, that we are told not to follow in their same path of disobedience

Eze 20:13 Yet the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness; they did not walk in My statutes; they despised My judgments, ‘which, if a man does, he shall live by them’; and they greatly defiled My Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out My fury on them in the wilderness, to consume them.

Why is why the next verse says this:

Heb 4:There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God;

The rest in this verse literally translates into keeping of the Sabbath that remains for God's people, because God's people keep God's commandments- His version through faith and love.

Original Word: σαββατισμός
Part of Speech: Noun, Masculine
Transliteration: sabbatismos
Pronunciation: sab-bat-is-mos'
Phonetic Spelling: (sab-bat-is-mos')
Definition: Sabbath rest
Meaning: a keeping of the Sabbath, a Sabbath rest.

In God's rest that we enter through faith no one is in rebellion or disobedience to Him including the Sabbath commandment, the way He said Exo 20:8-11 in God's rest there is no rebellion, just peace so one would be keeping and in harmoney with His commandments- His version, not mans.

Why the Holy Spirit is pleading with us TODAY to not be in rebellion to Him and His commandments

Isa 48:18 Oh, that you had heeded My commandments!
Then your peace would have been like a river,
And your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

Why to enter into Christ rest one also ceases from their works as God did on the seventh day

Heb 4:10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.
Heb 4: 4 For He has spoken in a certain place (Mt Sinai) of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”;

Heb 4:11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.

Paul said the written law had effectively passed or was blotted out, replaced by grace.

The law of Christ is now written in our hearts and this is the new covenant.
Colossians 2:14 - Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.

Ephesians 2:15 - having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace.

Colossians 2:14 and Ephesians 2:15 refer to the old covenant of law including the ten commandments. Also see 2 Corinthians 3:6-9 - who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. 7 But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, 8 how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? 9 For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory.

Since the old covenant has been made obsolete, does this leave us with no moral direction? Absolutely not. God made the old covenant obsolete to legally put into place the new covenant. (2 Corinthians 3:6-9; Hebrews 8:6-13) The life of discipleship flows out of the new command, to love one another as He loved us (John 13:34), and the apostle Paul says that by bearing one another's burdens, we fulfill "law of Christ." (Galatians 6:2) So, love fulfills the law (Romans 13:8-10) and out of this single command comes other commands, including references for the moral aspect of 9 of the 10 commandments which are reiterated under the new covenant, yet the command to keep the sabbath day is not binding on Christians under the new covenant.

1. You shall have no other gods before Me. - Acts 14:15
2. You shall make no idols. - 1 John 5:21
3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. - James 2:7; James 5:12
4. Keep the sabbath day holy. - Not binding on the Church - Colossians 2:16-17
5. Honor your father and your mother. - Ephesians 6:1-2
6. You shall not murder. - Romans 13:9 10; 1 John 3:15
7. You shall not commit adultery. - Romans 13:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
8. You shall not steal. - Romans 13:9-10; Ephesians 4:28
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. - Romans 13:9-10; Colossians 3:9-10
10. You shall not covet. - Romans 13:9-10; Ephesians 5:3

The moral aspect of the law is written on our hearts. So once again, the law on our heart and mind is the love of the Spirit, not the letter of the law. This is why Paul tells us that the new covenant is a covenant of the Spirit, and not of the letter in 2 Corinthians 3:6-9.

This is where the warning of Paul comes in- people claimed Paul blotted out the Sabbath commandment, that God made holy and blessed and said to Remember. Only God can reverse His blessing Num 23:20 and if Paul did this he would be in rebellion to God.

Hence this warning

2 Peter 3:15 and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, 16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.

Jesus taught not a jot or tittle can pass from God's law, is Paul really countermanding Jesus?

Of course not.

There is more than one Sabbath in the scriptures and Paul was so careful to lay out the context that no one seems to care about right now, but some day they will, hopefully before Jesus comes because at that time all decisions will be made Rev 22:11

Here is the context

Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Was the Sabbath handwritten?

What does scripture say?

Exo 31:18 And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

Was the Sabbath and ordinance?

What does God say:

Exo 20:6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

Was the Sabbath contrary and against?

What does God say:

11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

Was the weekly Sabbath a shadow?

It started at Creation Exo 20:11 when God made everything to His perfect plan, so can't be a shadow laws that was added for the plan of salvation. No plan of salvation at Creation.

Did Jesus teach the Sabbath would end at the Cross?

In His own Words said the Sabbath would be kept by His faithful decades after the Cross and until heaven Isa 66:23

Mat 24:20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

Should we believe Jesus and His teachings or out of context Paul we are warned about people twisting

The sabbath(s) Paul is referring to is the ordinances Moses handwrote in the book of the law set outside the ark as a witness against Deut 31:24-26 that has to do with animal sacrifices, food and drink offerings, annual feast days that some were annual sabbath(s) this is what ended and all pointed forward to Jesus and Him being our Sacrificial Lamb. Not any of the Ten Commandments Jesus said not a jot or tittle can pass breaking the least of these leaves one in fear of sin and Judgement unless we hear His voice TODAY and repent, which means a change of direction walking in His footsteps as He also kept the Sabbath and if we abide in Him we will keep His commandments and follow Him. He only leads us to the narrow path back to reconciliation Rev 22:14

Where is that in Scripture?

People don't seem to have any issue with the first three but the sabbath...... People don't like to change...
People who understand that Jesus is the true Sabbath don't need to change. Similarly, people whom the Holy Spirit leads don't need external commandments in their walk with God.

But the difference between the ordinances and the 10 commandments are clear.

The ordinances were given to point people to Jesus and help them to understand the gosple.
The 10 commandments are priciples of law that clearly define sin.
What Scripture makes this distinction "clear"?

As I see it. There's a law of faith which stands alone against the law of works, and it is written on our hearts of a substance of things not seen. Moses held up the two tablets, and the people saw them, but how can anyone hold faith, how does anyone see it?
There's no one that can "see" faith apart from God.
