Well? Revived, and then "reformed", because of the flesh, and the world we find ourselves in.
Reformations restore the government of God to a previous time period. In this case the period of Judges. . . restored to the time period before there were outward representatives like Kings.

Kings represent a pagan form of government . No faith

Really? Just a snippet...

Matthew 5:35 (KJV) Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
Matthew 21:5 (KJV) Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.
Matthew 25:40 (KJV) And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Matthew 27:11 (KJV) And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.

Revelation 17:14 (KJV) These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

Good point. I should of mentioned Kings seen represent a pagan form of government.

When the faithless Jews gathered them selves together they demanded of Samael they have their own king because of jealousy of the surrounding pagan nations. God gave them over to do what they should not of .This was until the time of reformation.

God spoke to Samauel and said; its not Samauel seen they are rejecting as King but the King of kings not seen they reject. They had no faith in a God not seen.

1 Samuel 8:7 And the Lord said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

All things written in the law and the prophets(sola scriptura) is the reforming authority in any generation or church setting restoring the proper form of government, walking by faith, the eternal not seen.

Praise God, one day all the families of the earth are to go up to Jerusalem to worship Jesus the visible King!!

Zechariah 14:17 (KJV) And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.

Yes in reference to the King of kings. Our unseen Father as King in heaven .

The faithless Jews who were not called of God gathered themselves together to show they had no faith coming from a invisible King. In their jealousy of the surrounding pagan nations they demanded a King. . that in which the eyes could see . God gave them over to do what they should of asked for. Using that signified period of time as a parable . The time of reformation came .The removable of the temple built with human hand as the abomination of desolation had served it purpose .The veil was rent opening the way for all the graves of the old testament saint as the promised glory that would follow it is finished.

Some would date the way of the unseen opening 70 AD. And not when the graves were opened.

A nice twist but that's not how I read it...

1Sa 12:14-24
(14) If you will fear the LORD and serve him and obey his voice and not rebel against the commandment of the LORD, and if both you and the king who reigns over you will follow the LORD your God, it will be well.
(15) But if you will not obey the voice of the LORD, but rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then the hand of the LORD will be against you and your king.
(16) Now therefore stand still and see this great thing that the LORD will do before your eyes.
(17) Is it not wheat harvest today? I will call upon the LORD, that he may send thunder and rain. And you shall know and see that your wickedness is great, which you have done in the sight of the LORD, in asking for yourselves a king.”
(18) So Samuel called upon the LORD, and the LORD sent thunder and rain that day, and all the people greatly feared the LORD and Samuel.
(19) And all the people said to Samuel, “Pray for your servants to the LORD your God, that we may not die, for we have added to all our sins this evil, to ask for ourselves a king.”
(20) And Samuel said to the people, “Do not be afraid; you have done all this evil. Yet do not turn aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart.
(21) And do not turn aside after empty things that cannot profit or deliver, for they are empty.
(22) For the LORD will not forsake his people, for his great name's sake, because it has pleased the LORD to make you a people for himself.
(23) Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD by ceasing to pray for you, and I will instruct you in the good and the right way.
(24) Only fear the LORD and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.

And I hope you at least pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Rom 11:28-29
(28) As regards the gospel, they are enemies for your sake. But as regards election, they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers.
(29) For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
