Another thing that I find interesting is why very very few talk about Peter walking on water !

Many don't want to admit that Peter held a special place in Jesus' Heart and in Jesus Church because they don't want to recognize Peter as having any authority in the Church.

But there are many instances of Peter performing miracles in the New Testament, besides his walking on water: 6 Bible verses about Miracles Of Peter (knowing-jesus.com)

Many refute Peter, but let us not forget that we hold his word, his writings, to be infallible with his Epistles/Letters in the New Testament. Paul yes, Peter no.

The fact is that many don't want to recognize Peter and his contributions to the faith and the spreading of the Gospel.

Firstly, let me say that I really liked Johnny Cash as a person, and his music. I liked Elvis as a person and his music also. I was a big fan of both. Secondly, let me say that it's not my place to judge anyone as being saved or unsaved.

But you claim that a documentary makes Johnny Cash seem like a saint,, "A Miraculour person'.

Unfortunately, both Cash and Presley outwardly professed to be Christians and sang many Gospel songs. But the reality of their lives is that both were drug addicts and had many adulterous affairs, including Cash's affair with June while she was married to someone else.

If one looks closely at the real Cash/Presley, it's hard to find Christian holiness..

You may be right but you nor any one on Earth is the one to offer salvation and Johnny came across in the video like he was more 'saved' than I have ever felt about myself. Not that my 'feelings', or any one else, count for anything regarding salvation, but this video spoke to me. The path I've been on in my life had twists and turns. And then I have known of people that are 'straight arrows".

Funny I should recall a guy from then, USSR, where I worked and his always saying, with Russian accent and high pitched voice, "Et's naut perfect, but et's acceptable." Maybe that is sort of the way God is saying about us, "They're not perfect, but they're acceptable."

Also, if you listen to the video, Johnny comes across as not having realized that the Sacrifice Jesus made on the cross was primary. Whether Johnny realized that is not clear to me. Seems he was 'obsessed with 'Gospel' music and 'good works'. If you didn't watch the video, there is some very interesting 'history' of how secularism displaces 'religion'.

Johnny also wrote a book on the life of Paul the Apostle, titled 'The Man in White'. It is mentioned on the video. I just happened to 'stumble' onto this information this last week. Never been any fan until this week. Woke up one morning and recalled starting to learn on guitar the song 'Sunday Morning Coming Down'. Probably 25 years ago learning it and first time ever heard it. Google it and play and it really spoke to me. So, google Johnny Cash and the rest is week old history. Just finished watching movie 'Gospel Road', by JC. This may be irreverent but initials JC.

If we are talking BIBLICAL miracles.. then it's whole different story.

For eg .. human birth.. though amazing and God made.. isn't a miracle. It's a natural process.

Also many of the supposed miracles claimed by Roman catholicism are not biblical miracles.

To be a true miracle .. it's got to match how the disciples, apostles and Jesus did it.

They are very rare... exceptional. For particular teaching and ministry purposes. Not random.

They are 100 percent done. Not half or semi miracles. They are permanent if healing.. unless a new injury takes place to the same area.

I have seen this in my own life with those who have been prayed for and healed.

A man had a massive heart attack while in the church. Two nurses who were present rushed over to him and began to do CPR, while others called 911. As the nurses tried to revive him, he showed no pulse, stopped breathing and actually died. While waiting the few minutes for the ambulance to arrive, Fr. Where I grew up we had something called "spook light." Every town in the US probably has their version of the spook light. One night we drove out there to have a look. After awhile some people started saying they saw it. Eventually I joined in the chorus. Of course I don't see anything; I just wanted a good story to tell. Same thing with all the Catholic idols around the world; people claim they do all kinds of things but they're just stories.

Our God is a God of wonders and miracles. He is not bound by the very laws of nature which He Himself has established. Sometimes in our contemporary, secular and materialistic world we try to insist that science and reason are the only source of truth. The Church honors and appreciates science and reason, yet we know that the Creator of all stands above all. We can never try to limit or keep God confined within our own boundaries. The miracle of the Kardiotisa icon is just one small example of the unfathomable mysteries of life and of the Creator of Life, God Himself! Sometimes we can only observe in awe and wonder, and give glory to God for the way He reveals His majesty!
