I thank the LORD daily for you 1)for your clarity in teaching the Word 2)for the renewed hunger I have to know HIM in Spirit & truth.
I heed all your corrections/admonitions to others where they apply in my life.
I meet in homes also, but I'm not as mature as others, so I think this platform has been a trmendous help to my walk!
I read something everyday from your 300+ posts that I rejoice in or am happy that it's not me you're rebuking😐
I felt lead to do a study on "heed" and "instruction" from Strongs that I presented Sunday that opened my spiritual eyes to see in greater measure that God says what He means and means what He says!
"Impartation"...I forgot to mention that I recognize that gift in you! ☺

Hi, call me ignorant...but why would a member limit the viewing of their profile ? what can be so secret as to sharing your gender, age and location ? surely it is the least one can expect to know with someone they want to converse?

Why were the original people of God rejected?
Because their hearts became evil and unbelieving. They were quite willing to step out under the wall of water standing up. They were quite willing to trust Him to save them. But then they wouldn't trust Him for anything else - food, water, protection. The apostle makes a forceful point. He says: WHO did God become displeased with and refused them entrance into His rest? Wasn't it THOSE HE SAVED? And then he warns us to guard our own hearts so they don't become evil and unbelieving as theirs did.

We repeat Israel's mistake. We are taught to believe Him to save us, but then are reassured that our subsequent unbelief will not be dealt with in the same manner as was Israel's subsequent unbelief. Which would make God a respecter of persons. (We being those respected persons, of course.)

What people need to understand is this is a spiritual disownership of your life, your possessions, and your relationships- it all now belongs to God to use as He sees fit. One of the gifts of the Holy Spirit was generosity. How can you be generous on an ongoing basis if you have nothing to be generous with?

When the men came to the owner of the donkey Jesus was to ride (Mark 11) what if that man said "I listened to Jesus and gave all I have to the poor, so I no longer have the donkey." Yes Jesus wants us to help the poor, but we are to love God even more than the poor. When expensive perfume was poured on Jesus feet Judas complained that money could have helped the poor. We need to be good stewards of His possessions, ready to use when and how He sees fit.

By saying all that I possess is no longer mine means it is all His and I am the caretaker of it. I heard in a sermon once that during a riot this man's car was smashed, flipped over, with broken glass everywhere. Did this christian man swear? Did he yell? No, he said "God, look what they did to Your car." - That is the attitude we must have.
when you ask: how can you be generous when you have nothing to be generous with? I think of the woman who had nothing to give but her last few coins. Men might ask how she has done anything generous when she h ad nothing to give. But God does not see as men see. She gave all she had.

Men would say she gave nothing that would help the poor because she had nothing to be generous with. But God would say she gave all she had out of her lack and had given more than a man who gave 100 coins out of his abundance. And this all times into what Platt preached in the video.

But his teaching wasn't about money. It was about counting the cost and was about Jesus saying you must give everything up to be His disciple. The cost is your life for His life. The cost is everything you ow n.

I couldn't go to sleep last night for listening to this man speak some more in other videos. What an amazing faith he has been gifted with for our benefit. He pierces my heart in all of its stony places - both the ones that remain and the ones that gradually grew hard again after meeting God.

Platt is one of these young "Restless and Reformed" ministers who gets his kicks looking like he's standing against the apostacy.
I watched many of his videos last night. This is not the sense i got at all.

No mention of the Sabbath in those text Please expound so I know where you are coming from.

No mention of the Sabbath there either. If Paul meant the Sabbath he would have stated it out right. We shouldn't assert what is not there.
Does the sabbath rest law refer to a day or it is testifying of a Person? Does any of the law and the prophets speak and testify of anything but Christ?

I've wondered if maybe some do not go kicking and screaming to the death of their pride of life and a giving up of their rights and so they don't see or particularly feel their death of self-life as others do and don't even realize they are being put to a death, so they don't see the verse as other do who are more selfishly attached to their possession of it...

Does the sabbath rest law refer to a day or it is testifying of a Person? Does any of the law and the prophets speak and testify of anything but Christ?
The Law is a testimony of the Image and likeness of GOD. This Image and likeness was what we were created in. Christ came to reestablishment us to that image in Him through His Life, Death and Resurrection. Behold all things are new and of GOD!
Jesus has made it possible for us to live a Holy life in Him Through Him. This is the GOSPEL. This Gospel was the promise and intent that was purposed to Israel.

Let's take a closer look at Hebrews 4 again.

1) Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us (the people of the writers day and us) of entering into his rest (the Gospel), any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel (His Rest) preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest (His Rest; the Gospel), as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest (the Gospel; the rest we have when Christ Jesus is our Life): although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. (the Gospel Rest has been available since Eden)

4) For HE (GOD) spake in a certain place (the giving of the Commandments on Mt. Sinia) of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

5,6) And in this place again, (GOD speaks of the Seventh Day) If they shall enter into my rest (the Gospel; the rest we have when Jesus is our life). Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein (the Gospel, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in (the Gospel) because of unbelief (obstinacy, obstinate opposition to the divine will):

If we receive the Gospel Rest in Christ GOD is calling us to the Word that HE spoke of the Seventh Day on Mt Sinia. The Gospel. Our rest in HIM and HE in us enables us now to partake of the Seventh Day Sabbath's hallowedness and truly rest physically from our physical Labors as GOD did from HIS on the Seventh Day Sabbath.

7) Again, he limiteth a certain day (a call to the Gospel Rest because it remaineth that some must enter therein (the Gospel, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in (the Gospel) because of unbelief (obstinacy, obstinate opposition to the divine will ), saying in David, To day (Now), after so long a time; as it is said, To day (now) if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

Dabid's (beloved's) Word's though GOD where and are a call to repentance; GOD's Rest in Christ (the Gospel). For unto us was the Gospel (His Rest) preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

For (because of the word just shared in Psalm) if Jesus (Joshua leading them into Canaan) had given them rest (the Gospel Rest in Christ), then would he not afterward have spoken of another day (constant call to the Gospel because to whom it was first was preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it ).

The leading them into the promise land was a symbol of what they already had available to them. After the forty years of roaming and seeing GOD's loving and guiding hand they were still only willing to receive the physical blessings and not the Spiritual; HIS Rest in Christ.

9) There remaineth (present tense) therefore a Sabbath keeping to the people of God.
This verse brings us back to verse 5, “And in this place again, (GOD speaks of the Seventh Day) If they shall enter into my rest (the Gospel; the rest we have when Jesus is our life).”

10) For he that is entered into his Rest (the Gospel), he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

"As" is direct Comparison. There is no way around that. So it is A Ceasing from work like GOD did from HIS. It is the calling to those who entered in their rest (the Gospel rest in Jesus in GOD) to cease from their work AS GOD did.

GOD ceased from HIS PHYSICAL work on the Seventh Day. GOD is already and forever Spirit. So HE did not enter enter into any Spiritual rest as we do. He is our Spiritual rest. So we in harmony with Christ and the FATHER cease from our work on the Seventh Day as HE did. The Day HE hallowed (set apart) and blessed.

So what are our instructions in regards to keeping the Sabbath?

Because we have received the Gospel; the new heart and mind through Christ Jesus; old things having passed away, all things being new and of GOD. We Simply cease from our own works as GOD did from HIS. He simply rested from work; so we rest as HE did.

(Heb 4:1-10 KJV)

Yes. And we break that rest in Him every time we don't trust. One could be in church every Sunday while always breaking the law to keep the Sabbath rest. It is a race of trust. This race doesn't happen every Saturday or sunday. It happens every moment. So Run the race of trust to win it. And if you stumble and stop trusting at any moment, cry out to Him that your feet are slipping and He will supply your lack of trust. And then get up again and run to win. Trust to win.👍

Well you can try and do what Jesus did if that is what you think He is speaking about.
