I want to try and show how all this started by returning to the beginning, because, sometimes, how something started gets lost in all the commentaries that follow.

THE OP:
So we have 3 words that should not be confused:
Elect – the sheep of HaMashiach Jesus
Seal – the 144,000, 12,000 from each tribe of Israel.
Mark – those who follow the beast and receive the mark 666

MY COMMENT:
So, I'm guessing you do not believe that the Church of the New Covenant IS who Christ will return to "rapture" and take with Him?

HIS COMMENT:
I believe that Jesus will gather those whom God deems remain, but probably not as you believe. The rapture, a made up word, is for confusion in the body of Christ, sewn by the enemy for strife, anger, arguments, contention and allegorizing the word of God.
"Take with Him" does not apply as Jesus will be returning to reign, "caught up in the air" is more proper in the context.

MY RESPONSE:
Yeah, ok, that tells me all I need to know about your ideologies..................have a nice day

I responded thus because it was clear to me that this person had an agenda held/pushed by those Jewish Believers (don't remember their proper name...Judaizers?) who push Law and such over Grace..........and he then began to condemn me in one way or another because I did not agree with his understanding of Scripture. He isn't the only one who disagrees with me, but he is surely the first to go so far in his condemnation of me (and others) who dare to disagree with him..

Anyway, this is how all this started........just saying
FYI:
1 Corinthians, Chapter 15:
51Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

52In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

53For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

54So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

55O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

56The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

57But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

I believe this..........

In all honesty, I'm beginning to wonder if he and Lion222 (whatever) are one in the same person? or, at least, of the same group? hmm

Isaiah 42 KJV

Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

JPS Tanakh

This is My servant, whom I uphold, My chosen one, in whom I delight. I have put My spirit upon him, He shall teach the true way to the nations.
בָּחִיר – bä·khēr’ – refers to Mashiach (Messiah)

  • chosen one
  • elect

Yeshua Mark 13:24-27

But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,

And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.

And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

Matthew 22:14

“For many are called, but few are chosen.”
ἐκλεκτός – ek-lek-to’s – refers to HaMashiach sheep (Matthew 24:31 & 22:14)

  • chosen
  • elect
  • chosen by God,
  • to obtain salvation through Christ
  • Christians are called “chosen or elect” of God
  • the Messiah is called “elect”, as appointed by God to the most exalted office conceivable

Revelation 7:9-14

After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, (the sheep) stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshiped God,

Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?

And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Revelation 7: 3-4

Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
σφραγίζω – sfrä-gē’-zō – refers to “seal”

  • seal
  • set a seal

144,000 will be sealed by the heavenly host, 12,000 from each tribe of Israel.

“And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads.” Rev 14
חָתַם – khä·tham’ – refers to a “Kings mark” or seal

  • seal
  • mark
A “seal” σφραγίζω, is to Israel from each tribe, the servants of YHWH by Elohai heavenly host.

χάραγμα – khä’-räg-mä – refers to “imprinted mark,” not “seal”

  • imprinted mark
  • idolatrous image or sculpture
A “mark” χάραγμα, is of the human world, done with human instruments, or upon a body.

The mashiach beast will “mark” his flock with the number of the beast 666.

“And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.” Rev 14:9-11

Revelation 13:15-18

And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

So we have 3 words that should not be confused:

Elect – the sheep of HaMashiach Jesus
Seal – the 144,000, 12,000 from each tribe of Israel.
Mark – those who follow the beast and receive the mark 666

Do you believe that Jesus is YHWH ?

The rapture, a made up word, is for confusion in the body of Christ, sewn by the enemy for strife, anger, arguments, contention and allegorizing the word of God.
On the contrary, the Resurrection/Rapture is one of the most important doctrines of Scripture. The word "rapture" is derived from the Latin "rapimur", which is the translation for "caught up together". So there is nothing wrong with using one word in place of three, and all Bible-believing Christians accept the Rapture as a Bible truth. It was first revealed in John 14:1-3 by Christ Himself, but it was Paul who gave us the full picture. The end result of the Resurrection/Rapture is the perfection and glorification of the saints.

Christ does NOT come "in the air " to establish His reign but to gather His saints and take them back to Heaven for the Marriage of the Lamb. However, when He descends from Heaven to earth in order to establish the Kingdom of God at His Second Coming, He comes to bring first judgment upon the unbelieving and the ungodly. And it is at that time that He also descends with all His saints and angels. That would not be possible unless the Resurrection/Rapture had already taken place.

What this means is that the Resurrection/Rapture and the Second Coming of Christ are two entirely different and separate events. Yet there are still those who try to make a mishmash of the two, and that is what causes all the confusion.

As to the word "elect" is can apply to (1) Christ, (2) specific individuals, (3) the Church (the Body of Christ), and (4) the believing remnant of Israel. Context will determine whom it applies to. At the same time God does NOT elect some for salvation and others for damnation (as taught in Reformed Theology).
