Uhh.

So here is your reasoning then: There will be false prophets and false wonders and signs, THEREFORE: there wont be any REAL signs and wonders?

Oy vey! Thats a logical leap, to the wrong pond!

In order for there to be false signs, there should be some real ones too.

I've never understood this idea that the devil is constantly doing miracles, signs and wonders, yet God is never doing anything.
Not really.
Real signs ceased. And you have to read a little more than that.
The kingdom of God comes with no observable signs that people say, there it is or here it comes or those people doing signs and wonders.
NO SIGNS means NO SIGNS.

God is confirming His word .I don't think he can do nothing And neither can he add to it and violate his own warning.

In order for there to be real ones God would really still be bringing new revelations . That possibilities is sealed up by seven seals . The air way is still open for a sign and lying wonder gospel and God is still bring the same delusion by which the person can continue to believe he is brings new revelations, despite the commandment not to add or take away from the perfect book of God's Law prophecy .

Why take a chance at going above that which is written by opening a window to widen the authority of all things written in the law and the prophets.? What is missing if anything?

Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:2 thessoloimians 2:9-11

aaaaaand back on the road of allegory, destination: catholicism

Read Matthew 24, the same verse you quoted to prove false signs and wonders (which nobody here denies btw, we just deny the claim that there are no AUTHENTIC wonders too)

Lets see if there are NO OBSERVABLE signs for the coming kingdom in the chapter you quoted (matt24):

Mat 24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
Mat 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
Mat 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

^Looks like something we can see, earthquakes, wars, pestilences, hmm. Oh well, maybe thats a one-off.

Mat 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

^Looks like somebody is seeing something, somewhere. Oy vey!

Mat 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

^Well this one even uses the word "sign of the Son of Man in heaven"............ Looks like there are some visible things going on!

Just pointing this out here that the CHURCH (ekklesia, called out ones) are comprised of individuals
Good to know that yet the promise is for individuals:

John 14:12Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever believes in Me will also do the works that I am doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

Not the church, you as a person, what are you doing more than Jesus ever did?

FYI they are precious alive too. smh.
Not according to God because death saves them from the evil in the world otherwise non would be saved:

Isa 57:
1The righteous perish,
and no one takes it to heart;
devout men are swept away,
with none considering
that the righteous are guided
from the presence of evil.

2Those who walk uprightly enter into peace;
they find rest, lying down in death.

I think that statement meant just that, the physical signs because we have in the same list, miracles and tongues. You can not allegorize these.
They are all spiritual unseen gifts

What do the physical signs confirm since they follow the unseen? Like the sign; "you have just left the city limit"

The miracle of salvation as new heart that wants to bring prophecy as a tongue so others might hear the gospel?

If not what do you mean by a sign since we must walk by faith as that which leads. ? Why can I not allegorize?

Luke 17:20When asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come,Jesus replied, “The kingdom of God will not come with observable signs. 21Nor will people say, ‘Look, here it is,’ or ‘There it is.’ For you see, the kingdom of God is in your midst.”

How clear can it get, to you no signs means many signs and wonders.
I'll be here waiting for you to tell me that i have taken the verse out of context.

what? hey everyone you being alive is not important to GOD Even if this is the day that the Lord has made we are not to rejoice and be glad in it. I have thought I have seen all there is to see of a level of foolishness but this tops it. Thank you for revealing how those against the gifts of the Holy Spirit have such an unbiblical position ON life and God.

Mark 16:
14Later as they were eating, Jesus appeared to the eleven and rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen.

15And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18they will pick up snakes with their hands, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not harm them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will be made well.”

I don't understand what you mean by 'spiritual unseen'. When it is said that "in Jesus' name, they will drive out demons.." does it mean they will command the demons physically to come out of the demon possessed people, or does it mean something else?

This is a very bad argument.
1. It doesn't go against Luke 17, does it? Do you think it cancels what Jesus said in Luke 17?

Luke 17:20When asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The kingdom of God will not come with observable signs. 21Nor will people say, ‘Look, here it is,’ or ‘There it is.’ For you see, the kingdom of God is in your midst.”

2. When it is said that the kingdom of God comes with no observable signs, it doesn't mean the world will stop and there will be absolutely nothing to see. It only means nothing observable will be identifiable to it: like tongues/ healings/ miracles/ churches/ gatherings and many others.

NO OBSERVABLE SIGNS.

Stop appealing to emotions, use scriptures if possible.

Every day is the Lord's day and we shall rejoice regardless of the happenings:

Rom 8:35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36As it is written:“For Your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

clearly, God wants us dead from your outlook on God which is it?

listen

let me tell you why in even simpler terms, that you and others who try to state no one is doing greater miracles than Jesus is wrong

Jesus said GREATER miracles. what are the greater miracles? walking on water twice? raising the same dead person twice?

THEREFORE that is obviously not what Jesus meant in the sense you would wish us to understand it

kapeesh?

Jesus was not saying 'y'all gonna outdo me in the supernatural event category.'

which is what you have Him saying along with everyone else who interprets the 'greater works' as miracles beyond Jesus.

think about it

there is no allegorization in what was said. you don't even address what Jesus said about John....there is a similar pattern in the way Jesus has used the same type of terminology for two different applications. when you see that in scripture, PAY ATTENTION. it's not an accident and Jesus means something beyond the apparent and obvious thing being said. unless of course you believe Jesus contradicted Himself?

The question has not been answered yet but i have heard many excuses as to why people do not do greater works than Jesus.
I don't have to be omnipresent to know that the miracles that happen today are fake, i just have to read the bible:

Matthew 24:24
For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders that would deceive even the elect, if that were possible.
oh you would have to be omnipresent to 'know' no one does what you do not do

we do it every single day.

false Christs do not promote the gospel or the gifts. you should be careful in how you characterize people. perhaps yours is the false gospel? the gifts of the Spirit should be common everyday things. actually they are to those who believe God's word

YOU don't believe. simple

Nope. I'm not satisfied with the answer because i know exactly what works are:

John 5:
8Then Jesus told him, “Get up, pick up your mat, and walk.”
9Immediately the man was made well, and he picked up his mat and began to walk.
Now this happened on the Sabbath day, .....
16Now because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jews began to persecute Him. 17But Jesus answered them, “To this very day My Father is at His work, and I too am working.”

John 9:
1Now as Jesus was passing by, He saw a man blind from birth, 2and His disciples asked Him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”

3Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but this happened so that the works of God would be displayed in him. 4While it is daytime, we must do the works of Him who sent Me. Night is coming, when no one can work. 5While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”.

John 10:
31At this, the Jews again picked up stones to stone Him. 32But Jesus responded, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone Me?”

33“We are not stoning You for any good work,” said the Jews, “but for blasphemy, because You, who are a man, declare Yourself to be God.”

From the above, we know that the works that Jesus was talking about was the miracles, anyone trying some great explanation as to why it is not miracles is at loss. The works do not mean preaching the gospel and greater in any context and any language still remains greater.

Do not look for an excuse and hide behind the church because the promise is for individuals (whoever believes), not the church.

Try again.

you may not have the gift of tongues but you certainly excel at the gift of blab

you disagree with scripture

and again, you are so far left contextually speaking that you are in another time zone...literally...pre Acts

the Pharisees are not mentioned among the gifts

but I understand that is your filter for understanding the words of Christ and the teaching in the NT

Well, we got the Bible (The perfect one) so now all the "doing" from God has ceased, along with the signs. Now we see face to face, FINALLY! Now we got no more debates, no more arguments, everyone has the same understanding, we see fully through the gla........ oh wait we dont got any of those things

Looks like The Bible wasnt "the perfect" which is to come mentioned in the Bible after all, I'll say its talking about JESUS. Because as much information as the Bible does give us, it DID NOT solve the problem of disunity and arguments!
Only Jesus will do that once He comes back one of these days.

Thats when y'all know I was right all along. I'll be telling everyone I TOLD YA SO!
