Today is March 16th. Numerically that makes today 3.16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3.16 :)

While reading this it was like the Father said to me Malachi...

Mal 3:16 Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

Yes it is! Sunny and 80 degrees today and I don't have to go to work! :)
Nice!! about 28 degrees Celsius and I have to work :( but also humid today (which means we can prepare for rain as we are not close to the sea)

How many reasons can you find for the bible to use sheep (flock) to describe God's people?

I'm in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It snowed 2 inches last night and it is -2C or 28F. I moved to BC in January to get away from this. If it wasn't for my grandchildren being here.....

Here is my 3:16-17 verse for today.

"16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work." 2 Tim. 3:16-17

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. (John 10:27)

The Bible describes close relationships between shepherds and their flocks. The sheep recognize the voice of the shepherd. They follow him.

Sheep are weak and need a shepherd/people are spiritually weak and need THE Shepherd. Sheep are Directionless - Sheep get lost easily. Individual sheep easily wander away from the flock while they graze. When even one sheep goes astray, the shepherd goes after it and restores it to the flock.

Sheep need plenty of water. In the Bible regions, the shepherds had to get their sheep to water very regularly. As Christians, we need the living water of the Holy Spirit continually.

Sheep follow the voice of their own Shepherd (no other shepherd).

Sheep can not get up on their own. If they fall down (“cast down”), they must have a shepherd to lift them up.

Good observations. They have enough 'clothing' for themselves and many others. They do not kill. When cornered they continually shift position so that none of the young are visible to harm for more than a few seconds at a time. The ewes and bucks use this clever tactic. When a lamb becomes lost, the ewe raises alarm and many call out. When I helped my grandpa raise them on 400 acres of land, as the sheep divided the land into parts, the paths never widened more than a foot over the course of many years. These are some of the natures and characteristics of God's people; teaching us a little more about who we are and why we are that way in God's sight. Thank you for your contribution. All biblical animals teach.

Sorry. Our posts overlapped yesterday.

My guess is, we hit post at the exact same moment?
Of course my post came in after yours...making me look like I was being insensitive.
My luck.

Which is weird, because I usually never have an excuse on why I am being insensitive?
Comes naturally.:(

Thanks for understanding though.

Not so much! Considering I was born and raised in Alberta, that is saying a lot. Oh, it is pretty for Christmas, and looks lovely on the mountain tops. But I can't ski anymore, and I fell badly on the ice from a thaw in January last year, when the melting snow puddled and then froze.

Give me warmth and a place to ride my bike, any day! My good news is that the day is ending, and most of the snow has melted. It's beginning to look human again.

Perhaps living in a place for half my life with snow from September to May has warped me?? Or two months of summer just isn't enough?

Please only reference real places/countries, Angela.

Canada isn't real. ---Sheesh. You can get banned for lies, ya know?

Next, you're going to tell me you went on vacation in Narnia, right? :p
