So....here it is. All finished finally. For my first carving and tooling I'm not going to whine just going to try to get better at it.

That's beautiful!

WAIT! This was your first?????
fooled me.
Well...I did a butterfly mini composition book cover as a study...but it was just testing the tracing...
This one is the third time doing the "B".
First one was just practice on a piece of scrap leather. The second one became scrap after the leather shrunk too much to be usable...and I wasn't that fond of the color anyway.

So this time I was angry, frustrated and tired of it all when I did it. Which made it come out a bit better. The oil dye I mixed up seemed to have worked well for coloring and softening the leather. Gave it a bit of character and aged look because of the color variations in how the oil was absorbed.

The gold embossed name was my wife's idea somewhat...I used a clothes iron to heat the letters and then use them with the foil to emboss them.

Like I said before...if Sissy doesn't like it she can make one her own self.

Of course my wife is jealous of her sister. She wants a red one for Christmas.

Well...I thought she was until she said that I could dye hers the exact same... meaning she really likes the color too.

I am flexible.

Of course she is...
Same color as the one I just finished (per her request) but with a different letter on the front. And if I hurry I can get this one done in a few days time...a lot faster than Sissy's.
And I need to hurry... gotta have this done by Nov 1 so I can start Christmas. Got 12-16 varieties of candy and 8 types of cookies ready to go by Thanksgiving....and cook Thanksgiving dinner too. The gingerbread houses don't need done until the first weekend.

Is it to early to que up the holiday music?
I'm seriously thinking that after I get the kids to bed I'm gonna go grab some nummy gas station coffee (no longer free, but they got me "hooked" ) and come back and turn on some holiday music to help work through the night  Is it to early for that?
Usually the radio starts it up here the 1st of Nov.

Christmas starts early in my house... we've had several planning meetings already... some supplies have showed up. Lots more to go. Need a liquor store run too...
We'll see what happens this year.

Good morning...
I'm just about ready to hit the sack and concentrate on the mysteries on the inside of my eyelids for about 6 hours.

Ought to be any time now
Goodnight, hope your time learning about the mysteries of your eyelids is enjoyable. Have a good sleep.
