Saturday morning here in Bama, and storms are gathering once again. (sigh) It was so sad to see that 5 people died here in Bama from the tornados that swept through Wednesday/Thursday. I pray they were believers and that they are home with God. I also am praying for everyone across the South that are putting their lives back together. So very many people lost most or all they had as the storms swept through.
Times like these have such differing effects upon people. Some have their faith shaken, and that causes doubt to grow between them and God. Yet, for others, these times causes their faith to grow strong, and their love of God deepens. Why the difference? I do not know. I do know that for me the times of trials that I have faced have given me a deeper faith in God and His mercy. It is not always easy, but I have learned that as these times come and go, my faith strengthens and grows.
I believe so strongly in the power of prayer, and I surely spend a lot of time praying for Gods mercy and protection from the storms. Not just for me either.
I am truly sad for those who do not believe in God, nor know His love, mercy and grace. I wonder what they lean on or draw from to help them recover from such trials?
As this new round of storms sweeps through the South today and tomorrow, I pray God will spread His wings of mercy across His peoples and protect them from the wrath of the storms. I also pray He will reveal Himself to those who do not believe in Him, and cause them to cry out for Him!
