I think over my lifetime I've been turned down by 50 women...
That's o.k. you were too good for them anyway. Keep searching and don't give up. We got about 8 Billion people on the planet and generally women out number the men so I say keep going. You haven't been turned down by a greater number than 50.

This is a bird's eye view of the beach my niece Julie and I were vacationing this past week. Just got home a couple of hours ago. We were staying in the Jamaican which is the leggo looking building about in the middle. A rectangle looking leggo.... the smaller one with a long short building next to it with a lot of green in front toward the beach area. It was wonderful to look out at the water every day. First time tourist and I away from each other since we been married.. He did come out and visit us a couple of days that he had off. It was great to get caught up with my niece.

The back of the Jamaican which is the side that faces the water. We were in the forth floor second from the right. Was a beautiful view looking out on the water.

I hope everyone who Worships on Sunday has the opportunity to gather with their Church Family this morning in the worshiping and praising of God.

Prayers for the victims of the storm, and for the speedy recovery of those injured in the storm.

growing and revitalizing older congregations is a great concern for me. the church i attend is mostly elderly. at 66 i am actually one of the young crowd. i am confident most of the children of these folks are members of a church somewhere,, but have grown up and moved on. to other cities and states and lives. what we are left with is maybe six families with children under 18, and a bunch of us geezers.
aging out of a church, or any orginization,,such as VFW, Lions, or other civic organizations has become an issue we are all dealing with. as i see it youth today consider these all as for old people. they are not seeing the value in attending church. and we are failing to demonstrate that value.
for the last several months god has been seemingly whispering about this to me. keeping it constantly on my mind. with some urgency i am searching for an answer that's probably far more complex then it needs to be. i'm going to start out simple instead, and make a determined effort to show in my life what going to church, god, and jesus mean to me. how it impacts my life in a positive way. i will try to restart our men's group , which has not met in 3 years. (a lot of our older guys no longer drive) and personally invite young men and women to come visit our church,, or join one of our bible study groups. many or the old guard denominations are losing members, while new evangelistic, and what i call "entertainment churches" are growing. clearly the older traditional bible following churches need to refocus.

Yes, but it's LABOR DAY! No work! :)

Of course, I will pay for it on Tuesday.
The day after a Monday holiday I know my Husband will be home late too. It's good for his check but harder on him. I'm just so thankful he has a job that allows me to be home with our kids.
