This really hurts my heart. First I lose my beautiful Tequila, who was my constant companion, friend and company for over 15 years. Then barely 2 months later, I am losing my "sister" Sukie to the same disease that took Tequila. Couple that with the fact that I can't find a kitten ANYWHERE, and my heart and soul are overwhelmed with grief and frustration and anger. I will be very glad when I leave this hell that we call earth. Thank you, Lord, for giving us Sukie for so long. She is a joyful, faithful angel and we have been blessed by her. Please let her see you coming for her, as I know Tequila saw you. Amen.
Yeah I know I lost my nephew to Afghanistan and now my other nephew has heart failure at 25. I can only imagine what my brother is going through. But he still preaches in the prisons and still holds to God. I admire my brother, I think I would have went nuts, but that's why we need the Holy Spirit. It's not all good and we suffer loss, but praise God what a meeting that will be in the air. Amen.

FATHER IN HEAVEN, please bind up the broken-hearts, Lord...all of ours...we all have them in different ways, for different reasons, but you are our unifying factor, Jesus, and rejoicing with you is so much better than the sorrows...

be with us in comfort, Lord, grant us strength and grace to bear, bind up our broken hearts, Lord, and fill us with your goodness and mercy, love and rejoicing at the knowledge that you promise to never leave us or forsake us, and you have plans for us and pleasures that go beyond our wildest dreams.

Give us, we ask, Father, a fresh filling of your Holy Spirit, Lord, and
thank you, Jesus, for who you are, for what you've done for us, and what you promise to do. Help us to remember, help us to lift each other up, support each other, and help us to lean on you with confidence, trust, faith, love, peace and joy. Thank you, Lord, in Jesus' wonderful name. Amen.

Gonna be another hard day tomorrow. Going over to my parents' house to see Sukie one last time, pet and hold her, and tell her thank you for being such a good comfort to me after I had Tequila buried. Sukie jumped up on the couch with me that day, and laid down beside me and let me hold her and cry into her fur. Such a wonderful, beautiful fur angel. She shall be greatly missed by all our family.

He who goes after the strike can rejoice little in his art.
- Liechtenauer

this is from a centuries-old German master-at-arms' manual on longsword fighting; the immediate context is the thought that you are fighting your opponent, not his sword - so don't just try to strike his sword, but him.

but i was reading this, and thinking how that there is also wisdom for us here in terms of discussion -- as Solomon said,
do not answer a fool according to his folly:
if a person is taking jabs at you, and they are not 'deadly blows' but just a sort of threatening posture, then even if you can easily "parry" those jabs, i.e. you can dispute them and show that they are obviously false claims, red herrings, etc -- you are better off ignoring them and striking at the heart of the issue you are discussing. don't even engage with that, if you can avoid it. that is not the thing you are discussing, and if it is really plain to see that the objection of your 'opponent' is not defensible, then anyone with wisdom and understanding will come to that conclusion on their own. you need not waste your time with it.

does this make sense?
i wonder these days if i'm making sense - because i am taking medications that make all my thinking fuzzy :p

anyway, i thought it was very interesting how a swordfighting manual had wisdom in it that could so easily be applied to the type of 'sword fighting' that goes on here in the BDF.

if we should pick up the sword of the spirit, then we should also train ourselves to use it, because a fool with a weapon in his hand is as dangerous to himself as he is to the one he means to engage.

Liechtenauer guy, a Christian, was pretty smart dude!

This is very true, and, yes, it can apply to our spiritual lives as well as our earthly lives.

i'm so sorry blue :(

last year both our Loo & our Particle went on ahead of me, and it was a long and sad goodbye with each.
though we still shed tears for them, it's grown easier, and we're thankful for all the years we had together, because we never deserved a single one of them.

it's easier for me, because we have other little fuzzy family members, and are moved all the more to cherish every day we have them -- but that's hard too, knowing that those days are short here, on this earth.

when the time is right, you'll have another kitten or two. Dad probably wouldn't want you to meet them too soon, to honor the ones who've only so recently left for home.

My mom just called. Our beloved Sukie died on her own around midnight. :( My dad went to go give her some water, on his finger because she couldn't drink, and she crossed her paws, gave a little sigh and was gone. I figured she'd die on her own because she kept going off to hide. Rest in peace, Sukie. Thank you for being a wonderful angel to our family. You are greatly missed.

I would "like" this... But it makes me sad... Reminds me of when my cat died when I was little. For my age at the time... Pretty depressing to see my cat I grew up with die.

:( I'll be praying for you Blue... I'm so sorry for your loss.❤️

Thank you, Laura. It hit me especially hard because I lost my own cat a couple months ago, and now another member of my family is gone. :( I'm glad Sukie isn't suffering anymore, but this just really sucks..
