Good morning to you, brother, and everyone reading in.
Here ya go.....(stick with it)
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the rain and all you accomplish through it.
The way you use it to miraculously nourish the ground and beautiful plants spring up to feed us and animals, some which also feed us, or are our friends or companions in labor.
It replenishes the seas and we get to use it in the making of so many beverages for health and pleasure as it quenches our thirst.
We get cleaned by it, Lord,
(not our sins, for we know that cleansing comes
through faith in the blood of Jesus \
/ ),
but we get washed and refreshed and thank you for that,
else WHEW what a stinky(er) lot we'd be, plus,
the way you wash our streets of so much of the filth that some ppl for some reason choose to dump so the children that they claim to care so much about have to walk to school and play in trash filled streets let alone the rest of us and....(sorry, got a little distracted there)....
Anyway, just the way You clean the environment, and the atmosphere, too, of soot and pollutants, and thank you that we can use it for fighting fires, even as we pray for those suffering in the Fort McMurray area,
Oh Lord, PLEASE be with them, we pray for more rain to put those fires out, bless the firefighters and everyone helping there, Father please have mercy on the many struggling right now, we pray for no more loss of life or damage.
And thank you for the way you keep the oceans churning, Lord, to clean and oxygenate the water and the air, it's amazing how all that works, and let's not forget how we use churning water to clean clothes and also have hydro-electric power how cool is that? So much more could be said, Father, but also I do understand PennEd's sentiments, as I feel the same way often as sometimes rain can put a real damper on things.
Help us, Lord, to remember the importance of rain, even though we aren't always too happy to be caught in it.
Your Word tells us to be thankful, and we are, Father, we really are.
Lord, Help us find some ways...
to use the rainy days...
for your glory,
in Jesus' name.
Amen.
(And this one, too, Rain, Rain, Go Away, Come Again Another Day!
)
