My wife tried breastfeeding our newborn son for a couple of days while in the hospital but he didn't get the hang of latching on. On the third day he didn't latch on and my wife said, "Forget this," and told the nurse to bring a bottle. Our son had that bottle empty in about 4 swigs. He's 21 now and nothing has changed. He empties a glass full in 3 or 4 gulps.
Haha I remember having had my first son, that first night a nurse brought my crying baby to me and said "Mrs Thomas (as I was then) your baby is hungry" I stirred (I was seriously tired that first night) and said "well feed him then!" LOL. She didn't - I had to. 
And the girl became a mother.
