Growing up, I used to go fishing with my family on vacations to Ontario. When I got married, I talked hubby into going up to Ontario the second summer. (The first summer we both went to the Jersey Shore under the mistaken impression the other one actually liked vacationing at the shore. Nether one of us are Shore people. lol) So, I taught him to fish.
Meanwhile, back at his job, one of his coworkers didn't believe anyone would go to Canada to go fishing, and certainly no girl would like such a vacation, so he was trying to convince everyone we were really at the shore.
Hubby and I caught a string of sunnies and 1-pound smallmouths the first day. It was back in the days of Polaroid cameras, so he strung them up in a tree halfway to the fish-cleaning station, then had me stand just right to take the shot that made all the fish look like they were 3-4 feet long, each. (For those who don't know, sunfish and smallmouths are small fish.)
We come back home and he shows our pictures. We had more than that picture, but that was the picture that talked that coworker into believing we really went to Canada to go fishing. lol

Just read that Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter and only child of late Whitney Houston, has passed away, being the age of twenty-two. 
May she finally rest in peace, considering all that she's been through and these past few months leading to her death.

The subject of Joni Mitchell came up at my pastor's house this afternoon; she had an aneurysm in March, and was found unresponsive in her home. After first hearing about it back then, I watched quite a few previously recorded interviews that she had given not too long ago. Some of the topics she touched upon struck me... topics such as how analytical she was, how totally selfish her generation was, asking why is it so difficult to love another person. (Of course, the connection between those last two is fairly obvious.) Heh, the eldest daughter, who has recently graduated from high school, said don't worry, her generation was just as selfish. Nothing really changes, does it? But these are the things that drive us to the cross. It is just so sad that people die before they get there. Makes me think of the movie, Sunset Limited. In that movie, the atheist would rather die than accept the existence of God as a reality.
