But the spiritual laws that the ceremonies led to is still in effect, and reading what the Lord said when God gave those laws to us helps us understand the spiritual laws they led to.
Spiritual laws work in two ways . One used as a ceremony a shadow that points ahead as carnal ordinances, imposed on the Jews until the time of reformation. and the other that which the shadow points
Colossians 2:16-18 King James Version (KJV) Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
There is a ceremonial sabbath used as a shadow and the substance not seen the actual rest. One governs ceremonies set aside once a week that point to the substance the other the rest we do receive when mixing that which is seen the eternal called mixing faith.
The substance comes as a person does mix faith (believe God not seen ) as he works in us to both will and do His good pleasure as that which softens our hard hearts having rest from our own works That rest is not time sensitive like the ceremonial law . But today(24-7) if we hear God speak and do not harden our hearts we have received that imputed rest .
The ceremonial sabbath as a shadow is a whole different subject that begins with a fast. The shadow is time sensitive.
The Gospel key study what it means; being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
Hebrews 4:1-5 King James Version (KJV) Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
Ceremonial laws do not provide rest they point to the one we can rest in
