So... if this is the case, then God is forbidden from revealing anything to mankind that is not already revealed in His word. He can reveal nothing of calculus, electricity, chemistry, nuclear science, internal medicine, mechanics, astronomy, or virology, and must watch His people suffer for lack of knowledge until they discover for themselves. He can't speak to people in dreams, visions, or any means other than His word. He can't even direct them to a particular passage of Scripture because that would be "inspired knowledge" outside of Scripture.

Hogwash. God is still in the revelation business. He just isn't adding to Scripture, because Scripture is complete for the purposes He gave it.
And for purpose do the prophesies not seen represent? A open door?

He is the kind of God that created the mind of men and moves men to invent the wheel, calculus, electricity, chemistry, nuclear science, internal medicine, mechanics, astronomy, or virology. Some would elevate them above that which is written.

Some even tried to elevate the Apostles above that which is written ,Mere men sent with that in which God put on their lips, "prophecy", their new tongue. . the gospel .

Many of the renown men today puff themselves up and accredit the work of God that worked them to a self edifying wonderment (How great I am. Other humble themselves under the hearing of faith . )

And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another. For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it? 1 Corithians 4:6-7

Is it equal to mention and if so why? Whats the point ? Protecting a blank check .

It would seem you are trying to build something on nothing. What's the foundation or hope? God still moves people by the same source of faith as he has for the last 2000. years. Just what is it you are trying to support? That God still moves people according to his perfect book of the law and do not add to it or take way from it ? .

If every-time he moved people to perform his will which is written down. I suppose we would need a bigger world to hold the volumes .. I would ask do you support "sola scriptura" or are there other venues by which we could hear God . Like falling backward make a noise ?
You really don't understand what I'm saying.

I wonder since it ceased with the king James versions arrival...did the king get stricken also?
Or just the church???

Was it when the last period was placed in the bible at the end of revelation?
Or did it happen when the first 10 Christians read the new bibles?

Was there knowledge police to enforce the no knowledge dynamic that suddenly hit the church?

HEY YOU....IN THE LIME GREEN BLAZER...STOP THINKING,ER UH LEARNING,ER UH,HAVING A BRAIN!!!

Knowledge has ceased.

Too funny.

No....hilarious.

"I know knowledge has ceased with the other gifts"

Turns and leaves the room with a chuckle

we are always presented with Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. I Corinthians 13:8

those in opposition to certain spiritual gifts will always...I said always...present this verse, out of context, as proof for their bias

my response has been at times that they are living proof knowledge has vanished...don't think I've said that in this forum though

anyway, what is Paul talking about here? beginning at v 1 of this famous chapter, he is speaking of love...obviously not human love if his description of said love is understood. so then, if you continue to I Corinthians 14, it is understood that chapter 13 was an introduction or preparation for the correction he was going to hand out in chapter 14.

Paul contrasts love with certain gifts to indicate the value of those gifts are not worth much without the love of God flowing through them

prophecies have yet to occur, tongues continue and knowledge has not vanished away or we would all be sitting at home drooling...apart from the covid19 obligations should a person choose to follow them

without fail, every single spurious and manmade doctrine will have at its roots verses that are taken out of context...a prime example being Calvinism or the Catholic notion that priests cannot marry.

I am pretty much convinced that the more rabid and disingenuous the argument made by those who contextually rob scripture of its true meaning, the harder the heart will become and deception will be the norm rather than the exception. Christians should not be so deceived they cannot handle the word without leading people astray and condemning those who actually do understand the truth of scripture

you are one with the truth?

I doubt it

whatever you actually are one with, has produced accusation, scorn, ridicule and self aggrandizement with a good helping of deception

Jesus is the way, the truth and the life

it is not evident that you are one with the spirit of Revelation that Jesus also exemplifies...all knowledge has passed away according to you

You do not like the truth. You do what you accuse others of doing.

I have Jesus. I have His Holy Spirit and I have His word the bible. I walk in the Light as He is in the Light.

You may not like it but I have the witness of His Holy Spirit with my spirit that I am His. Rom 8:16

I hope you once again turn your affections to Christ and away from the distractions of Pentecostalism.

Ok,ok seriously.
When did it cease?(knowledge)
Where did it go?

Lol
You apparently have no Spiritual gravity. Knowledge is in the perfect the word of God. You would know that if you believed the word of God.

right. funny

BUT

if a person is not in relationship with their Creator, how can they be one with Him?

I am concerned that those who reject what God wishes to give, have perhaps rejected past the point of salvation

I'm not saying that is so, but I about starting to suspect it, because of the total mind seeming to be given over to denial and trying to wipe out what is true

skepticism I get, but what we have here with a few folks, is anger and more at the mere mention of the word tongues

So now you think I'm unsaved?

I harbor no anger toward any but I do find it terribly sad to witness the consequences of being bound to doctrine not found in scripture.

Find in Acts where any of what you say is true. And produce direct quotes from scripture saying so. You are adding to scripture unless you can prove it with scripture.

https://christianchat.com/bible-discussion-forum/the-holy-spirit-in-acts-according-to-acts.191024/ you need to disprove this.[/QUOTEit was produce more than one in fact many times. No I did add to scriptures I just provide what you fail to read in context. The book of Acts, if you did not know this was not written to make what is said in the Gospel Matthew, Mark, Luke and John null n void. Nothing you have shown in scripture disproves what was provided.

“For all the promises of God in him [Jesus] are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” 2 Corinthians 1:20 (KJV 1900)

So nothing finds fulfillment apart from accepting him. In the NT Jesus is Israel along with believers only.
Well this is your opinion and I know that many people brlieve this too. But I believe the prophecies which God gave Israel will come true. Either you are right ore me, doesnt matter in the end. It will comes that what God had prommised. But we must be careful, because if we are wrong, we support a false teaching.

It is Paul's opinion if it is an opinion at all. But some know it is inspired scripture telling everyone there are no promises outside of Christ. This includes the land promises too.
