That is a Bible verse that gives a qualifier. So the verse that you have quoted is OSAS....if.
Is Christ going to abandon us? Our salvation is NOT dependent upon us but upon Christ. If our salvation depends on us we are hopelessly and forever lost.

God do not want us to do sin.

But we do sin, it mean we still have freewill

When we do sin, it is our own will not that god make us sin. Prove that we still have freewill

Salvation is for those who believe in Jesus.

John 3:16

Whosoever believe.
Believing in Christ is Romans 10:9-10. It is believing all that scripture says about Him. This belief is only created in the heart by the Holy Spirit through the hearing of Gods word. You can only come to Christ as God draws you. Mercifully God draws all men to Christ.

John 16: 7 ¶ Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

The heart that has been convicted of sin, righteousness, and judgment by the Holy Spirit cannot ever recant. The problem today is that modern evangelism has never allowed folks to get good and lost before they have them get saved. Modern evangelism is more concerned about crowds of people that even a single soul becoming a genuine Christian.

Because of the weakness of the flesh we are brought Into captivity to the law of sin

Romans 7:20-23
King James Version

20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.

22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

I believe faith in the word of God have correlation with sin.

A person that believe or have faith in the Word of God will try not to sin
