if you can forfiet salvation, or lose it. You must work to maintain it. It is foolish to sit there and claim your not trying to earn or work for something, when you claim you can lose it.

If it can be lost, it must be earned. You forfiet something when you do not meet the standard or guideline. If you can forfeit it, then you must work to make sure you meet those standards
And if you are working, how do you know you've done enough? You miss out on the blessings of assurance that John, and thus God, wanted you to have...that ye may know that you have eternal life...

Grace is unmerited favor. Your trying to earn it
^
SEE, you did make it into a DOCTRINE and replaced it with the Gospel of Christ.

GRACE = God's Redemption At Christ's Expense -or- Grace and Mercy is what took place upon the Cross.

FAVOR is because we are His. Grace has no relationship to Favor because Grace is not a continuing Condition like Favor is. Grace is what God did to Save us. like i said, SACRILEGIOUS!

you need to walk away from the HILLBILLY DOCTRINE'S!

see here you go again

the term grace comes from the greek word CHARIS which means favor..

Grace is Gods mercy because Jesus on the cross took the wrath of God in our place. thats called redemption

We are saved BY GRACE through faith

that is what the word says.. Your trying to twist things into something it is not does not negate the truth of the word

you can't ever know, so you have to, whether you believe it or not

1. Water down the law to a point you can fulfill it
2. Start to look at sinners who are worse than you so you can concentrate on them so you do not see your own sin
3. See yourself as more moral than you really are. by denying you are in sin, or at the least, denying your particular sin will cause you to be cursed by the law
4. Realise your own sin, and give up and walk away, because you realise you can not meet Gods standard, but your to proud to admit you were wrong all allong, and these people you have been attacking because they believe in grace through faith alone, were right

sadly, I have witnessed the last group far to often

since you don't know what you're saying i will stick to my original post.

Charis (Greek: Χάρις) is a given name derived from a Greek word meaning "grace, kindness, and life."

God's Grace through His Death gave us LIFE.

Favor is because we are HIS!

Not sure just where you are getting your error from, but I'd suggest you be open for correction. Because you are greatly missing the mark.

5485. charis
Usage: (a) grace, as a gift or blessing brought to man by Jesus Christ, (b) favor, (c) gratitude, thanks, (d) a favor, kindness.

I don't know if this thread has already gotten into this.. but let's not start saying people who believe in OSAS aren't eternally saved.. or that people who don't believe in OSAS aren't eternally saved.

Eternal salvation is the initial belief in Jesus. What people get taught afterward affects their view of how their service to God relates to their eternal state. So we don't actually know for sure who is genuinely saved and who isn't.

So before it goes to the point of attacking people to say they are not saved... think about what it takes to initially believe in Jesus.

i see you use the English definition, not the correct Greek definition where Charis means = Charis (Greek: Χάρις) is a given name derived from a Greek word meaning "grace, kindness, and life."

if people would stop interjecting ENGLISH meaning into God's WORD they might get a CLUE!

GRACE is forever because it is the exchange of God's human body for our sinful human body that gives us Eternal Salvation.

Favor is different because it continues in every way we are Blessed afterwards.

the Bible was written in HEBREW and GREEK.
Stop believing the English meaning, which is how many are confused on a multitude of Biblical Topics.

prime example:

yes, there is the Father-Son-Holy Spirit

but in Hebrew, the word ELOHIM means SINGULAR, in English it means PLURAL.

no wonder the Jews think some of you are nuts when you cannot even read Their Torah/Tanakh correctly!

There are three legs upon which OSAS stands or falls. Do these verses mean what they supposedly mean, or have they been misunderstood and misapplied? When we examine them next to other scriptures that clearly contradict them will they hold up? Let's see.

Actually your once again in error. In hebrew the term is plural. not singular. In secular cases, the term elohim was used to refere to the many pagan gods.. (plural)

from the Britannica:
Elohim the plural of אֱלוֹהַּ‎ (ʾĔlōah), is a Hebrew word meaning "gods". Although the word is plural, in the Hebrew Bible it usually takes a singular form and meaning

all that matters is that the Ancient Hebrews used Elohim to mean ONE PERSON of the TRUE GOD YHWH or Yahweh or LORD [all Capital letters]

so if we want to understand how God presented Himself to Moses, who wrote this, we need to understand it from how God instructed them to understand it.
