Some better study scripture in more depth...Matt. 24;13....he who endures until the end ...shall be saved.

Many more scripture which refutes OSAS.
That passage is about the tribulation period
your the one who needs to study my friend your works based gospel will fail you

Those scriptures were differentiations between those who are his, and those who are not.

the verses speak for themselves and if we "earnestly seek Him" He will reveal the simple meanings... in time...

so no longer lost in complications of thought and endless arguments to prove a right here, a wrong there

and endless proving that everything has to be 'just so', as i / they / anyone decides for it to be super -configured.:confused:

FreeGrace2 you seem static & contentious maybe even afraid to put thing in your own words why?Are not the results of grace devine....i'm not sure..but is faith the same as believing thus when you have faith you have salvation?..of course the right kind of faith.
First, what do you mean by "static"? And please show me any evidence of being "contentious". Maybe your viewpoint is a bit off.

Second. I'm not at all "afraid to put things in my own worlds". How ridiculous! I've been very bold.

Third, your question was kinda chopped up, so trying to answer such a question will be a challenge.

Believing (the verb action) and faith ( the noun) refer to basically the same thing. The bible uses "believe" over 100 times to indicate getting saved. So it can't mean something different than faith.

And, explain what you mean by the "right kind of faith". When the Bible speaks of people believing or "having faith in Jesus", it means they ARE saved.

In 1 Cor 15:2 we have this: " By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain."

The single Greek word translated "in vain" means "without reason". That means without an object. Any kind of faith requires an object in which to believe in or have faith in.

This is the only exaample I am aware of in Scripture that describes believing in a negative sense.

If you have other verses, please share. Thanks.

1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural [unbelieving] man does not accept the things [the teachings and revelations] of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness [absurd and illogical] to him; and he is incapable of understanding them, because they are spiritually discerned and appreciated, [and he is unqualified to judge spiritual matters].

Those passages are differentiating between those who believe and those who don't.

I guess at this stage it's necessary to ask, what's your point?
What do you believe?
“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”

I believe the gospel Jesus preached and said anyone who believes the gospel and is baptized shall be saved

You know the four gospels and what they say ? and what he did in them

“The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I believe that we’re supposed to learn believe what’s actually there things like this not removing thkngs we don’t think or agree with

“Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭16:16‬ ‭

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”

‭‭James‬ ‭1:21-22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.”

‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:42‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Or Paul would say the resurrection was proof of peters claim

“And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.”

‭‭Acts‬ ‭17:30-31‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I don’t think it’s wise for Christians to look for reasons to omit what’s so clear we’re meant to believe it all as we learn so we can grow up in Christ and eat solid food
“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:10-16‬ ‭KJV‬

In short I believe everything Jesus said to believe and be saved and as I learn more I’ll believe that also and will never pretend it’s not there to comfort myself and pretend nothing applies

You initially asked, What is a true believer in Christ in your view ?
Your comments after in your post 481 presupposed my answer did not take your post 481 points into consideration.
However, when your question was about Christians all those points are already reconciled in the believer.
No I actually heard what you said and asked some Other questions but it’s okay you know ? I understand your point it’s on line with a few others I’ve met here

but can I ask do you believe this ?

“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

just a small example of the gospel ? Or are you someone who is going to explain why that doesn’t apply ?

That's good. I don't know any actual Holy Spirit filled reborn Christian that thinks nothing in scripture applies.

Best wishes for your journey.

There is Assurance found in believing by his word

Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:27-29, 35, 37-40, 45-47, 63, 68-69‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day." John 6:44
if we stand on his word sure there is assurance but we have to acknowledge the truth that’s also in his word

“For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.”
‭‭John‬ ‭1:17‬ ‭

grace and truth together while you stand in that word that gives us assurance in him what happens is he also teaches us the truth so you have that assurance and then you start hearing the call to repentance and righteousness

“But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

Judge not, and ye shall not be judged:

condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned:

forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall be given into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:35-38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The only thing we can’t do is reject his teachings to abide in his word keeps us safe to allow him to teach us the truth brings the fruits of the gospel

that’s my only point we can’t do this

“He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.”
‭‭John‬ ‭12:48-50‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If we have faith it comes from hearing the gospel and look at the assurance his word gives us

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

as we hear the gospel his word is creating Gods children like he made all that is from speaking it forth he’s doing that into us ll we have to do is accept the real gospel d not limit it based on random verses and our own long explanations just allow this to create faith the rest is gravy

“For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

if we reject his word however we aren’t going to have the inheritance his word offers us and we can very easily walk away from him unless we repent

as we learn it becomes apparent whet we have to do in repenting of the bad works and selfishness and learning to be Gods children in deed and truth

Except, only those who are in Christ, God's elect, are able to understand the words of God.

1 Corinthians 2:14
But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.

Mark 4: 11-12
"The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those outside, everything is in parables, so that although they look they may look but not see, and although they hear they may hear but not understand, so they may not repent and be forgiven."

can I ask do you believe mankind has no choice in whether they live forever or end up in the lake of fire ?

And this isn’t a parable that requires anything but belief

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
