Trying to see how his questions are "simplistic, demeaning, and almost blasphemous to the Greatness of God..."
God always let me ask as many questions as I could come up with and he has never told me that I was demeaning Him.
If our eternal security and destination is based "on our good works" in order to "stay saved" - name every one of those works that we need to do. Don't leave one out.
How many of these should we do in order to remain saved?
If they are simplistic...why not answer them?
As far as I can tell y'all have stated obedience to God is what is needed.
Someone mentioned a covenant relationship.
Another listed fruit of walking with the Spirit.
Someone mentioned good works as in visiting orphans and widows.
Another a passage that showed the difference between sheep and goats.
I know of pHart says he isn't legalistic about it..., Which I take to mean that God has unique requirement for the works each person is required to do. He seems to stress obedience to God.
All are good and necessary (put that word in for you Fran) for a mature walk with God.
However we go back to what is salvation and when do we obtain it and how?
I believe we are saved when we are born again by the Holy spirit after confessing with our mouths a saving faith in Jesus from the heart.
Everything else is sanctification that happens until glorification.
God keeps all His Kids in check and helps them to grow and learn.
