Hard to catch up to the "story" as conversations tend to develop.
Well I have a good chunk overtime.... not really a story line just the truth of the OP defended over time.

Some people seem to have a real problem with "Not By Works"

I think they do it on purpose to get us to react.

i sometimes wonder if they laugh behind their computers saying watch this, I am gonna twist what she said and watch them all go nuts,
Yeah.....I hear ya and yet for the sake of any and all reading I will keep swinging against their lies, deceit, false twisted gospels unti hell freezes over and the gates are welded shut....

Like God said...WHO will go for me...........

Time is short and the gospels peddled by Judges, Gongshow, Lightbar etc. do not lead to the kingdom of God.....I will oppose tooth and nail!

Could be.... I always wonder if they are on someone's payroll.... because they surely cannot believe the nonsense they write.
They believe it alright....and they will ride those horses right to the MANY group that Jesus rejects.........

FAITH plus ANYTHING to gain, maintain, keep, top off salvation = false, no power to save, double cursed and NOT making the cut!

They do affect us whether we think so or not
Not when we respond peterjenz and myself fought so hard as I was trying to expose him it affected Me, My reputation and still affects Me Today. This place and feeding these people thinking your going to stop them or resist them and expose them is nothing more than a pipe Dream I wish i Never had
I guess as a Marine I don't mind the spiritual combat ;) HAHAHAH Sometimes they really peeve me off when they constantly twist, deceive and keep peddling their false dogmas, but then I think of the dozen people that I know of for sure that have message me and seen the light and have rejected the fallacies of these deceivers like Judges, Lightbar, and Gongshow............and or i think of people like @Rosemaryx and how she has grown leaps and bounds by reading this thread and other threads and of course the bible.....I keep swinging for their sake.........

Yes, tis true I know, I was not really serious, they do believe it and they peddle it with no compunction when they should be shaking in their boots.

They are completely wrong and their words are miserable to read for sure.

They will be held accountable for as you say a "gospel with no power to save."

To this very day, when a Jew gets saved they want to obey the law. And why shouldn't they? I mean, not for justification, but for the framework through which they worship God. What do you expect them to do, adopt this Roman Catholic thing we have that they have no history or tradition with?

Acts 21 is a perfect example of how trying to placate others by compromising your practices and beliefs is a formula for disaster. Just stick to your guns and let God sort it out within each of us. James was wrong and Paul was wrong for caving into him.
So when you read James chapter 2, in the light of how you concluded that “James was wrong” in acts 21, how do you regards James 2?

The working for, salvation losing Cainologist Bible verses......

He that believes on the Son is having temporal life based upon a self sustained faith that JESUS does not finish and complete.

The gifts and calling of God are revocable based upon the ability of men to overpower God, void his word and usurp Jesus Christ.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him, does many wonderful works, religiously hoop jumps, helps Jesus maintain the faith that JESUS did not promise to finish and complete may have temporal life if they do the above, plus get immersed or sprinkled, say 57 hail Mary's, sing 67 verses of Just as I am, takes the Lord's supper, keeps the Sabbath and speaks in tongues while back flipping down the isle.

Only by works of righteousness which we have done and not according to his mercy has he saved us because we keep the law, never sin and we maintain the faith that Jesus cannot finish or complete.

He that believes on the Son can be condemned because JESUS needs our help to maintain the faith that he gifted, but cannot finish and complete.

and on and on and on.....this is exactly what they peddle by the gospels they push like a ticket salesman in a Carnival.....

Lightbar <----he thinks he keeps the law and or embellishes the Gospel with self effort
where did he say that?

I notice that you and your cohorts still have not been able to refute the facts in this last relevant post.
Your conjecture does not change this.

"But the just one shall live by faith;" "and if HE is drawing back," "My soul is not pleased in him." But we are not of those withdrawing to destruction, but of faith, to the preservation of the soul.
(Heb 10:38-39)

The word for drawing back is in the 3rd person singular. Proper grammar dictates if a word is used within the same sentence that a Noun or Adjective is used that is put forth in the singular that is the Subject, that the third person singular is reference to the subject. That would be the "just one" in the previous clause.
That is why most translation translate the passage with a "if he" or an "and if he" in relation to the word translated draws back. Because proper grammar dictates it. Incidentally the NET2's New Testament general letters is part of the work of one who is considered to be one of best Greek Scholars of our era. Daniel B. Wallace of the Dallas Seminary'. He would not have his name on it unless he approved. It is listed here along with numerous other translation that have that part of the translated properly.

But my righteous one will live by faith, and if he shrinks back, I take no pleasure in him.
(Heb 10:38 NET2)

"But the just shall live by faith;" "and if he draws back," "My soul is not pleased in him. But we are not of those withdrawing to destruction, but of faith, to the preservation of the soul.
(Heb 10:38-39 LITV)

But my just man liveth by faith: but if he withdraw himself, he shall not please my soul.
(Heb 10:38 DRB)

But my righteous one shall live by faith: And if he shrink back, my soul hath no pleasure in him.
(Heb 10:38 ASV)

But my righteous one shall live by faith: And if he shrink back, my soul hath no pleasure in him.
(Heb 10:38 RV)

but my righteous one will live by faith, and if he turns back, my soul will take no pleasure in him."
(Heb 10:38 ISV)

But the just will live (by) faith; and if he should draw back, my soul is not delighting (in) him.
(Heb 10:38 GUV)

But My righteous one will live by faith. And if he draws-back, My soul is not well-pleased with him”.
(Heb 10:38 DLNT)

And it should also be noted that one can not draw back from something UNLESS THEY ARE IN A PLACE TO DRAW BACK FROM. And that place in which they were is the Just that was living by faith.

So with all that being stated one must reason that either you are right AND GOD through the Holy Spirit inspired the writer of Hebrews to use bad grammar and sentence structure. Which would make the text imperfect. Or you have been misunderstanding the text.

Hard to catch up to the "story" as conversations tend to develop.

How do you read:

James 2:8 (NCV)
8 This royal law is found in the Scriptures: Love your neighbor as you love yourself.“ If you obey this law, you are doing right.

That is with the AGAPE LOVE that HE poured into our Heart, Human Spirit, Rom 5:5, therefore Obedience is PART OF THAT LOVE, and NEVER HAS BEEN PART OF SALVATION.

How do you read:

James 2:9-10 (NCV)
9 But if you treat one person as being more important than another, you are sinning. You are guilty of breaking God’s law.
10 A person who follows all of God’s law but fails to obey even one command is guilty of breaking all the commands in that law.

James 2:10 (NIV)
10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.

James 2:10 (CSBBible)
10 For whoever keeps the entire law, and yet stumbles at one point, is guilty of breaking it all.

OH MY, YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO LEARN TO DEPEND ON HIS MERCY AND GRACE 100% OF THE TIME!

THAT IS THE POINT IN JAMES 2 THAT HE IS MAKING, AND YOU HAD BETTER LEARN SOON!

OSAS BELIEVERS ALREADY HAVE THAT KNOWLEDGE IN THEIR HEARTS, OR BORN AGAIN HUMAN SPIRITS.

The "venom" on this site can't even com close to the venom on that old site "bible discussion" forum. Constant hate spewed forth from atheists, moderators admonishing those who stood up for the Word of God.
Amen to that! I was a member of the bible-discussion forum and not long before that website shut down, it reached the point to where it had just about been completely hijacked by false teachers and the hate, contention and slander there was unbearable! The venom in the threads/posts on that website flowed like lava, which is why I stopped posting on that website and about 2 months later, it shut down.

Of all the Christian forums on the internet, Christian Chat is still my favorite. (y)
