Man made religion says behavior matters, It denies that unless we are perfect from birth, we have already failed to meet Gods standard

Man made religion states that after we are saved by grace, we are perfected by works. and a lack of work will cause you to lose salvation

Man made religion focuses on self, it may mention the cross in passing, or talk about it, but the real focus in on self and how holy and righteous one thinks he or she is

man made religion denies eternal security, it pplaces security again on self. how well you do. and not on God and what God already accomplished

Gods religion says we all have sinned and fall short. That if we claim we have no sin we are decieved, that we are saved because God loves us, and gave his only begotten son for us.

Gods religion says he who begun a work will complete it until the day of Christ. (end of story concerning salvation)
That isn't. "man-made religion" it's old covenant law and was established by God to lead people to Christ.

God gave the world His laws to show that they are sinners in need of a savior.

That is what most religions are..,pure law. (some have the added demonic twist and idol or fallen angel worshipping)

However the gospel of Jesus is different but sadly most who claim the name of Christ don't know the difference because they don't really know the gospel of grace. They may have mental assent but not hearts renewed or a saving faith in Jesus as Lord and savior

Forgiveness is equal and done.. The only difference is in the renewing of the mind process
dc - You have no idea. So you would deal with a islamic radical wearing a suicide
belt the same way you would deal with a nice grandmother seeking safety in Christ?

It is like you have only a one track mind, totally blinkered, and not plugged in to the
real world but the religious one as if this makes any sense.

Gods law law was never given to make us saved, man made religion changed his law to make it appear that way

amen, and the renewing process is lifelong, in fact it will be longer than lifetime, because God has so much more to show us we can not comprehend in this lifetime

For some kids, negative attention is better than none....

Anyway skimmed the thread and saw the question I think Bill asked about what others did when they sin.

If I know at the moment what I did was a sin, i stop what I am doing and repent and pray and ask God how I can fix it.

Otherwise at the end of each day I pray and spend some quiet time with God telling Him about my day. Like any child would with their loving parent (sorry for any typos, lost my glasses)

I tell him what made me happy and what worries me and asks Him what He thinks and if i need to do anything specifi the next day. He tells me if I did wrong or if all is well. I give him all my problems and worries, joys and successes and pray that He can use it for His glory. He gives me rest...

The next .morning, I pray, read the Bible and go about my day....

Each day is different but with God anything is possible and we can always find joy, Love and peace in the world around us....even if we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we need not fear any evil for God is with us and is our Protector and Comforter

Anyway hope everyone is having a blessed day.

Like I sad, how can he profess to preach the word when he does not understand it himself? The OT law of the day of atonement blows his works self help theology out of the water
Just curious would you be referring to a specific bible verse about the day of atonement?

Not trying to get in the middle of your "discussion" with Peterjens, but was curious.

(perhaps you should put him back on ignore?)

Exactly why you miss the mark.....and the two are not comparable in any sense except one....BOTH will burn in hell if they leave this world without trusting in the saving faith of Christ....and that IS WHAT YOU CANNOT SEEM TO GRASP!

I agree...the only thing I would clarify is - the gospel has us raised up from the dead after dying on the cross with Jesus - if we stay on the cross - there is no resurrection.

Romans 6:5-7 (KJV)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

[SUP]6 [/SUP] Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

[SUP]7 [/SUP] For he that is dead is freed from sin.

I know what you are saying though - we must reckon ( an accounting term which means it is an established truth ) ourselves dead because we are - that is the old man is dead and now we have risen to be a new man in Christ - the new creation which has been created in righteousness and holiness.

Yes quite right, but this speaks more to our divine destiny, i.e., pick up your cross and follow me.

Well the world is twisted the granny may be the Islamic terrorist and the other guy may actually be a Christian seeking security in Christ and His finished work on the cross....but folks like to judge by external appearances way too much.

True religion is visiting orphans and widows.
Amen, James said righty so....and the half brother of James condemned organized religion and called them the blind leaders of the blind and white washed coffins filled with the bones of dead men....
