This makes things sound like doing homework or not doing it will get you a detention.

The way I feel about it, when you truly see the suffering people go through and how
much just a little bit of love and affection helps, would anyone not give this.

My kids, we watched like hawks for their coping with situations.
My son would lose a leg and not notice, while others one little tumble and the world
had ended. Praise. The smallest effort which they seriously put a lot of thought in needed
praise, it was like fuel and inspiration. And for their age it was brilliant.

You would not believe how they grew and developed, it took a little observation, knowing their
hearts and just reaching out and understanding.

So seeing need and not responding shows a dead heart. That is the point. It is not about the
action, it is about what is within and the lack of love that beats there.
I think too often we are stuck in our own fears and troubles and insecurity, we don't see others hurts through our own tears.

Sometimes we have to stop crying to be able to help those around us. Otherwise we can be blinded by our tears and pain to others need and God's call.

That is why allowing God to heal us and see how much he loves us is so important.

excellent good works. but arnt father suppose to do this anyway and even the wild animals love there cubs
You are right that love finds expression with groups sometimes but not always.
Jesus extends this outside the human family to the spiritual family, and to ones enemies.

At this is not just empathy, understanding the trials of another, but to die for them, even
if they actually hate and desire deep antagonism towards one.

And natural love tends not to forgive or count hurts as nothing, but often grows dull with
too much provocation.

This is so true. And also distinguishing between hurt ego, and real hurt about rejection and
suffering is important. Sometimes we just want to be important, and being put back in our
place hurts, but this is not real pain, just self pity. But real abuse and victimisation, bullying
breaks some people and they have so little self worth, they define themselves in the bullies eyes
and not as a precious loved child of God. I have seen truly gifted people almost disabled their
whole lives through such things, and it is heart breaking.

When you get alongside people like this often find a very talented person needing support and
just encouragement to learn how to fly and bless others.

Jim. I do not understand. What the words I have shared mean something different to you.
I am sharing about people with love self worth image, where they expect abuse and down-play
what they expect from others.

This is not being judgemental about people, this is where some find themselves, believers and
non-believers. And in Christ I am called to come along side and breath love and appreciation into
their lives. This is a blessing, a real blessing when you see people grow and get healed as a result.

So I do not understand what you are referring to, about boxes or sand or whatever else.

Truth is brutal. God and holiness washes falsehood away and leaves only reality behind.
Sinners will find themselves naked and empty, with only weeping and gnashing of teeth,
because nothing hangs together. But in Christ and the cross there is life and wholeness,
reassurance and truth, knowing we are loved and kept safe in His hands. Amen.

You can't ever judge the motives of others. Only God can.

We can judge what is said and if we agree or disagree.

We can tell if someone understand what we are saying and can summarize it correctly.

What we should not do is condemn people or tell them they are hopeless.

.there is always hope in Jesus.

God can change any heart.

We can state the truth as we know it and pray others understand.

Back to the topic....

Salvation is not by works of righteousness but God's grace and mercy.

God gives us Faith.

God leads us to believe and trust in Jesus' sacrifice on the cross for the atonement of our sins, rose again and ascended into heaven.

We confess with our mouth the saving faith God placed in our hearts that Jesus is our Lord and Savior.

God sends the Holy Spirit to seal us and make us born again children of God.

We add to our faith virtue, knowledge, self control, perservance, godliness, brotherly kindness and agape love.

We gain the fruit of Spirit by walking with Him: love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, self control

God chastens us and teaches us.

God gives us spiritual gifts and we learn to be a part of Christ's body.

We do the good works God created for us to do. All by the grace of God.

God gives us spiritual armor to fight as a
Soldiers in the Lord's army.

God tells us to take every thought captive and tear down spiritual strongholds that war against His wisdom.

God tells us to take our tongue, stop fighting and speak with heavenly wisdom instead of the world's knowledge.

Is this one of your jokes or do you really believe that works save you?

I agree we have to daily pick up our cross and follow Jesus.

It's what gives our lives purpose and meaning. If we follow the world instead, we have lost our spiritual witness.

The blessing is each day is a new day. If we fail yesterday, God gives us a new chance with the rising of each sun. Just as He gives us rest to recover and heal at night.
AMEN, the mercies of the Lord are renewed daily..........thank God....

interesting thought...
I mean really.....yes we can please God for sure the bible teaches that...and like many have stated.....we are a ongoing work of Christ and the analogy of clay being molded by the master craftsman is applicable....God molds and shapes us and sometimes because of our iniquities or sins or failures he must pound us out a bit if you will or work an area in a particular way to get his desired result......at the and of the day the best news is....He that began a good work in you WILL BRING IT TO FRUITION....

Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Revelation 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

Revelation 19:8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness (works) of saints.

P.S. Beware of the babbling, upside-down folks. They try to turn right into wrong and wrong into right.
Beware of those who post their first two sets of scriptures that apply to the lost out of context to espouse a false working for salvation....

and the latter post states nothing about being judged by works.........

Nice try, but the babblings seems to fly from your fingers to the key board.......!

You know Dcon...what I was thinking this morning?

Would you expect an infant to wash dishes or take out the trash?

People who push works works works. Forget that before people learn to walk with Jesus, they are Babes in Christ.

They have to heal from the wounds of this world and grow in His wisdom, strength and power.

While we are kids God wants us to play and love one another. He wants us to rest and heal.

As we are growing up, He reveals our spiritual gifts and helps us become established in a local church.

Many people think they don't need a church and miss God's purpose of Church....the church is a place for us to give to others, not a place where we expect others to serve us. However a good church will help us grow and be filled with people who seek to serve also.

We grow mature as we learn to serve our brethren.

However God wants us to learn to serve those who hate us too and draw them back to His living arms.

That is why we have godliness (personal sanctification and righteousness) followed by brotherly kindness (learning to be part of the Body of Christ) then agape love (loving our enemies even if they hate us)

2 Peter 1
5For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue,e and virtue with knowledge, 6and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, 7and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. 8For if these qualitiesf are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.

Revelation 19
Hallelujah!
For the Lord our God
the Almighty reigns.
7Let us rejoice and exult
and give him the glory,
for the marriage of the Lamb has come,
and his Bride has made herself ready;
8it was granted her to clothe herself
with fine linen, bright and pure”—

for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.

9And the angel saida to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.”

Revelation 20
6Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.

Whose righteousness are we clothed with? How do we get white robes?
