Jesus has come not to call those who deem themselves righteous but rather He has come to call sinners. So yes, salvation has begun and is indeed eternally maintained, for His gifts are irrevocable.
Yes, but are those gifts only irrevocable to Israels Elect, those who the law applies to and those who were being addressed, correct? Is it spoken of for the gentiles also somewhere?

Romans 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
Romans 11:27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
Romans 11:28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father's sakes.
Romans 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

Preaching salvation can be lost is a lie. End of story,
The issue in question is not about losing or keeping salvation, but walking in Jesus's ways.
If one believes we cannot follow Jesus and His ways, has salvation even begun?
Wrong dude. I see you have never changed, you are the same old peter, the same liar. The same slanderer, the same ............
The issue of this thread is salvation, You did nto make this thread, You have NO RIGHT and NO POWER to tell people what this thread is about.
Sanctification (what happens to a child of God AFTER he is saved) has no part of this thread.
As usual, You seem to think you have the right to tell people what they believe, What they are talking about. And what ever you think needs to be done.
Its not about you man,
This thread is ABOUT ThOSE WHO TEACH WORKS ARE REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN SALVATION.

It is NOT ABOUT WORKS WHICH PROCEED FROM FAITH FROM ALL WHO HAVE BEEN ADOPTED FROM GOD>
Looks like EG does not believe he can follow Jesus or walk in His ways. :(
This is what scripture calls unbelief, and the reward for unbelief is judgement :(:(

As a side note, EG decided to take one view of my words, extend it, add condemnation, correction, rebuke,
etc. and end up no were. I simply want to know Jesus and walk with Him. Some appear to want to build barriers
and add beliefs and exclusions to this simple revelation that Jesus and His way is the only way, Amen.
God bless you, may His grace and His love come to fill your life as you call out to Him, Praise the Lord.

Happy birthday, such a blessing to reach another birthday in the Lords grace.

And beatitudes, such a lesson in Christs approach to life, they humble me each time I read them.
God bless you as you exercise His love to your family and all you meet, Amen.

You can only speak for youself. What would you do if you take your advice seriously. Dont you know there is nowhere else to Go. Jesus alone has the Words of Eternal Life. We are not for real appart from Him. Falling from grace by trusting in achievment is clearly seen in the bible, whats your problem, that you want to be in control? Have you falen from Grace? Do you want to bee in charge? Do you think you have arrived? Have you stopped learning becaus. e you think you kknow God in your unserstanding...
No one loses salvation pal.....and everything else you said, nothing but unfounded false allegations or implications.......

There are many people who declare themselves saved ... I wonder how that can be, if everyone's judgment has not yet arrived.
Nobody is saved just for believing; that is a myth. It is evident that those in Mat.7:21-23 believed they were saved ... but they were not.
Nobody can loose something they don't have yet. If people believe in Jesus with all the faith of the world and keep sinning without any kind of "remorse", they won't be saved AT ALL of what is coming. It is not only at these days when people talk the same way ... it happened in the first century too, and this is what was told about them:

1Pe 2:11 (ESV) Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul.
12 Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.
13 Be subject for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme,
14 or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good.
15 For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people.
16 Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.
17 Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.
18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the unjust.
19 For this is a gracious thing, when, mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly.
20 For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten for it, you endure? But if when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God.
21 For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps.
22 He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth.
23 When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly.
24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.
25 For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

Gal 5:13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
15 But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another.
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.
18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Nobody is justified by works, BUT nobody will be saved without works. Salvation is not something anyone can have, cause we are not the ones who are saving anybody, or ourselves ... It is going to be Jesus who will keep the loyal ones safe. When someone is really being led by spirit, they will not be practicing sins ... and their good behavior counts as works. On the other hand, when someone is sinning, he is not acting by spirit, and his evil deeds will prevent him from being saved.

1Co 6:9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,
10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Heb 3:12 Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God.
13 But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called "today," that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
14 For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end.
15 As it is said, "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion."
16 For who were those who heard and yet rebelled? Was it not all those who left Egypt led by Moses?
17 And with whom was he provoked for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?
18 And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient?
19 So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief.

What we are looking for is not to believe that we are already saved, which is impossible, but that we may be saved at the last moment:

Mat 24:13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

Also I have noticed over the years, that those who rebel against rules, do not think they need to go by rules. Most people banned, was because they refused to go by Rules of the C.C., and they do not see it as Sin.

1 Peter 2:13-15 (NKJV)
13 Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake, whether to the king as supreme,
14 or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good.
15 For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men--

I had co-worker once, that when to the same church as I did, that made this unbelievable statement.
I asked her: "Don't you think a Christian should go by the posted Speed Limit, even when there is not a State Patrol Car in your rear view mirror?" Her answer was UNBELIEVABLE: She said, "Why should I go by the Speed Limit, when there is no Cop behind me. After all Rules are made to be BROKEN!" And what is more amazing, is she was my age.

So is this attitude spreading even into Christian Chat ? ? ?
Not sure which is worse

Them nt admitting it is sin

Or those who enable them by refusing to acknowledge it is a sin, ONLY because they believe the same way.

This passage concerns national isreal. No gentile is in context of this particular quote.

Jacob means Israel.

You’re taking Romans 11:26 out of context. The hard truth is, no faith means no salvation.

It is not to difficult to understand, seing how many people is here saying they're saved and not showing the minimal love for others. LOVE is a work and not loving others is a sin.

Jesus has come not to call those who deem themselves righteous but rather He has come to call sinners. So yes, salvation has begun and is indeed eternally maintained, for His gifts are irrevocable.
It is an interesting difference in faith positions.
The apostles were faced with people who came to faith, were members of the church then fell into
heresy, sin, unbelief, even different beliefs. They had to then decide where they saved, was it temporary,
was it sealed, was it eternal, are they the elect, or only at the end you know where things really are?

From the eternal, we are sealed from the beginning, from the mortal, we know individually how deep
Christ has gone, and from our fruit, we know how well we abide.

I love one thing, above all else, to bring praise to Jesus and His cross. For only in this is there safety and
perspective. Anyone who defends sinful behaviour or attacks the work of love to redeem and transform
the Lords people into the likeness of His son, I will not agree with from the beginning.

So how the Lord shows himself to each believer is unique and profound. And all I have to do, is just encourage
His people and share His love and work, Amen.

So the rest for me is just rubbish floating down a river not worthy of anymore speculation. God bless you.

Yes it is difficult

You can not say you have faith, yet continue in sin. The mere fact you continue to live as you did before you were supposedly saved PROVED you never had faith to begin with. Thats the way I see it.

So again, How can you claim someone can have all the faith in the world. Yet continue in sin, is this not impossible?

Whole world means whole world and not believing Jews and gentiles. So grace and the free gift of salvation is for everyone but only those that obey Him will partake it.

1 John 2:1My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate before the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2He Himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. 3By this we can be sure that we have come to know Him: if we keep His commandments.

John 3:16For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.
BELIEF is the word...NOT OBEY........

It pleased God, by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. The above drivel in line one is your embellishment......

and before you yank another verse out of context that contains the word obey to peddle that which is false I will post it as well....it does not = WORK......

In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

hupakouó: to listen, attend to
Original Word: ὑπακούω
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: hupakouó
Phonetic Spelling: (hoop-ak-oo'-o)
Definition: to listen, attend to
Usage: I listen, hearken to, obey, answer.

Matthew 7:21-23 pertains to people like Paul before his conversion. He deemed himself righteous without knowing Christ.

As far as your statement, “nobody is saved just for believing” beware friend; you’re causing stumbling blocks upon those who seek the Lord.

and much of what you bolded is descriptive of believers, and encouragement... structure for Gods children to follow not requirements to be saved
