I credit this photo to @CharliRenee and I must repent from violating anything that she might have copyright-ed and repent from "borrowing" her CC life-bit photos without giving her credit and I hope that she forgives me
I snagged the words right out of Isaiah and the pic from google. Help yourself. Again no credit needed or wanted. He gets ALL the Glory. But thank you for the :D. He is our foundation!!!

DO YOU KNOW HOW RIDICULOUS THAT SOUNDS.

Go ahead and Deny the TRUTH, and see what your self enabled obedience gets you.

WHY WOULD YOU REJECT HIS LOVE, IN FAVOR OF YOUR OWN.

Galatians 3:10 (HCSB)
10 For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, because it is written: Everyone who does not continue doing everything written in the book of the law is cursed.

Let me show you that You Cannot Live Up To That Standard:

1 Peter 2:13-17 (NKJV)
13 Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake, whether to the king as supreme,
14 or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good.
15 For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men--
16 as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God.
17 Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king. {President Trump if you are an American.}

1 mile over the Posted Speed Limit = YOU SIN.

Rolling Stop Sign Violation = YOU SIN.

Parking Violation = YOU SIN.

Failure to pick up Dog Poop = YOU SIN. --- LITTERING IS A FINE = YOU SIN. --- Dog not on a Leash = YOU SIN.

- - - - - - - - - SHALL I GO ON ? ? ?
NO JAYWALKING = YOU SIN.

James 2:10 (NIV)
10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.

Are you sure you want to rely on SELF EFFORTS, or DEPEND on HIM.
What's this?
You don't want to follow the law of your country but want to claim you are righteous. As long as those laws and bylaws don't violate God's commands you have to follow each one of them. They are not meant to frustrate anyone but to improve life.

And the verses you quoted are also talking about deeds. so what's your problem?

It seems you cannot respond to what I am actually saying in favor of trying to cover up the fact that you are the one who left God out of your definition of repentance. People can know they are not perfect aside from any knowledge of their standing before God, and to deny this fact? Well, you are simply in denial.
Well, i don't deny. What you are saying is true but when we are talking about sin and righteousness, we are automatically talking about evil and good, therefore satan and God. Sin is a trespass against God already and it is only God who lets us know we are sinful or have trespassed against Him.

Turning from sin is not repentance.

We do not clean ourselves up to come to Christ, He accepts as we are, while we were yet sinners.
So what is repentance?
Who needs to repent from sin? Is it God or the sinner?

==============================================================
welllllll, I can remember when I was 'in-the-world', and I used to say the old adage,
'Nobody's perfect'; back then, almost everyone realized that they made different degrees of mistakes & mis-judgments,
life was strewn with them - for one thing, 'we both STOPPED functional 'stealing' all on our own, maybe for the wrong
reasons, but we DID STOP', remember, this was 'before conversion'...
but,
when God started leading us into 'repentance', we STOPPED DOING 'sinful-behaviours', not all at once, but it was our 'start' -
the point is, we started TURNING AWAY from worldly sinful, learned, behaviours because we became CONVICTED/SORRY
for going against Jesus' Will', how He required us to live anew...
we were 'convicted' and began to go through the 'process of change', Praise God!!!
and now, we certainly understand that 'God led' us to Repentance' through His Holy/Sacrificial/Blood/Love'...
I agree. Sin is a trespass against God, the change of heart and the realization that you are a bad person comes from God regardless, for it is only God who knows the heart of a man. Flesh and blood did not reveal it to you but your Father in heaven as much as you'd think it was your own change.

I think I found another possible thing work-salvationist can do to try to impress God, set all the dominoes standing up in artistic arrangement so that one day someone can touch one domino, and all those pieces can fall down in minutes and have it recorded on camera for God to see

Some pieces fall far too fast, too bad, it doesn't last for all eternity

oh well

2 Corinthians 5:11-14 The Message (MSG)
11-14 That keeps us vigilant, you can be sure. It’s no light thing to know that we’ll all one day stand in that place of Judgment. That’s why we work urgently with everyone we meet to get them ready to face God. God alone knows how well we do this, but I hope you realize how much and deeply we care. We’re not saying this to make ourselves look good to you. We just thought it would make you feel good, proud even, that we’re on your side and not just nice to your face as so many people are. If I acted crazy, I did it for God; if I acted overly serious, I did it for you. Christ’s love has moved me to such extremes. His love has the first and last word in everything we do.

^this is what the message bible sounds like? on first read
Second read, well ok, sounds like a laymen CC commenter (with minimal authority)

Sadly, so many churches teach this is what must be done.. Clean up first. Then maybe God will let you into his family. Then you must keep yourself clean. Or you will be asked tp leave..

People do not realise how dirty they are, even on their best day.. If they would see this, they would see how amazing Gods live is. But sadly their pride is too deep

There is a great meaning to the word metanoia (repentance)

Sadly over the years it has taken on the meaning of being remorseful or regret for sin which is not inline with the meaning of the Greek
word.

The word metanoia has no such meaning attached to it.

The word breaks down to "after-mind" and signifies a change of mind: thinking one way, but then afterwards thinking another.

But context needs to fill in the rest.

It is not repent feel sorry for your sins, it is ... a radical mind shift, about the law, righteousness and forgiveness

None is good/perfect, only Jesus is perfect and His work on the cross is what saves.

A change of mind comes first... that is why John the Baptist brought the message of Repent.... change of mind to the Good News!

YOU STILL DO NOT UNDERSTAND. It is Not about DEEDS, IT IS ABOUT THE MOTIVE FOR THE DEEDS. YOU have a selfish motive. You already said, you would prefer to do it yourself, with your human kind of LOVE, than to accept GODS LOVE he placed in you to do what you cannot.

Acts 3:19Repent, then, and turn back,so that your sins may be wiped away,

Luke 13:3No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you too will all perish. 4Or those eighteen who were killed when the tower of Siloam collapsed on them: Do you think that they were more sinful than all the others living in Jerusalem? 5No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”

Repentance is the realization that we are not perfect and in need of change as shown above.
