No some of it is BAD, in my opinion.

I define Liberalism as a Self-styled Worship, bending towards Popular Opinions of the World.

It is characterized by these worldy values:

ENTERTAIN ME! DON'T PREACH AT ME. The music portion of the worship service has evolved to become the dominant part of worship.
(Our Pastor limits it to 6 songs.)

THEY ORDAIN WOMEN, probably because it is Politically Correct, NOT BIBLICALLY CORRECT, 1 Tim 2:11-12.

THEY FROWN ON TEACHING THE WRATH OF GOD, CHURCH DISCIPLINE, AND a BALANCED GOSPEL MESSAGE.

CHOOSING INSTEAD TO TEACH A LOVE ONLY GOSPEL, which is a False Gospel, when they choose to NOT declare the WHOLE council of GOD.

Acts 20:26-27 (NKJV)
26 Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men.
27 For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God.
Newer Translations have that last line: "the whole plan of God."

Some have gone so far as to publish a GENDER NEUTRAL BIBLE, which is a FALSE TRANSLATION that is no better than:
the NEW WORLD TRANSLATION, that the Jehovah Witnesses put out.

Romans 12:2 (NIV)
2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.

In Church today one of the VERSES Pastor Gil mentioned, which spelled out what is wrong with Self-Styled Liberalism in the CHURCH:

Ecclesiastes 7:5 (NASB)
5 It is better to listen to the rebuke of a wise man,
Than for one to listen to the song of fools.

Jesus told Peter Three times to "FEED MY SHEEP."

He did not tell him to Sing my Songs three times.

I take that to mean TEACHING THE WORD OF GOD, should dominate the Worship.
Our Pastor teaches and explains the WORD OF GOD for 1 hour every Sunday.

Listen to How the so-called worship service became an ENTERTAIN ME EVENT!
Instead of a "FEED ME THE WORD OF GOD", a genuine worship service.
Can you tell me how you arrived at this conclusion about me and where I worship?

What you describe is the complete antithesis of what I believe.

Sadly these are false assumptions or perhaps I should state thankfully these are false assumptions LOL :)

I agree you should always agree that there is more to learn.

However, IF YOU STEP OUT IN FAITH, HE WILL HOLD YOU UP.

HE WILL GIVE YOU WHAT YOU LACK.

WHO KNOWS EVERY WORD THAT HE INSPIRED THE PROPHETS AND APOSTLES TO WRITE ?

The most powerful words that I KNOW, is: "I CAN NOT DO IT." The only words then is: "JESUS, IF YOU WANT ME TO DO IT, YOU WILL HAVE TO DO IT THROUGH ME." That is Total Trust. Yes, you always continue to study, but NEVER DOUBT HIS ABILITY TO GIVE TO YOU WHAT YOU NEED TO ACCOMPLISH HIS WILL. How do you know what is HIS WILL FOR YOUR LIFE. You know when your human spirit is totally under the control of the HOLY SPIRIT, in than Moment, ask HIM WHAT IS HIS WILL FOR YOUR LIFE. The Deepest desire in your heart, usually is HIS WILL.

I moved to California without knowing what HE wanted me to do there. It took two years for me to fully grasp HIS will, but when I finally got it, I could not shake that FEELING that HE WANTED ME TO GO TO THE COAST and Start a Prison Ministry, in the "end of the line" NEW PRISON. He opened all the doors, I just kept walking through, Trusting JESUS ALL THE WAY.
there's one thing I noticed about myself, I like to have a huge wealth of information in my possession, before ministry, (like I'm giving out of wealth) but VCO, you have overcome your fear of "lacking information" and preached boldly, as if trusting God to supply information to speak through you

wow!

AND HE DID. When I relied on HIM ONLY, it FLOWED OUT OF MY MOUTH. On the few instances that I wanted to give them my opinion, I stammered and stuttered a lot.

in another words, as long as we can be rich in trust and poor elsewhere, we'd still be fine

trust that God will take good care of us

Sorry if I got it wrong! This is why I would support change in the roles to name the denomination you are affiliated with when you join.

Because, correct me if you did, you never answered what Denomination you were from. THEN, I would have looked it up and assumed you believed what your Doctrinal Statement of Faith actually said. So I had to look at your answers or objects, and compair the to know statements that I have read in the PAST. BELIEVE ME, I have read thoroughly a lot of Church Statements of faith, because we moved a LOT into small towns with few Churches to choose from. I have asked that question of just about everyone, that has a different belief than I do. WHY? So that I can read there Doctrinal Statement of Faith, to KNOW where they are coming from with some of their answers.

It does not have to be Church were you attend, JUST THAT YOU AGREE 100% with that Doctrinal Statement, preferably with Scriptures.

For example, and I will choose a shorter one, as MOST are too long, and post it on the next Post, entitled:

HERE IS A DOCTRINAL STATEMENT OF FAITH that I agree with 100%.

Here is one from Independent Fundamental Churches of America. I have attended several IFCA Churches in my lifetime.

1 The Holy Scriptures
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the verbally inspired Word of God, the final authority for faith and life, inerrant in the original writings, infallible and God-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:20,21; Matthew 5:18; John 16:12,13).

2 The Godhead
We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – coeternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections (Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14).

3 The Person and Work of Christ
a. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men (John 1:1,2,14; Luke 1:35).

b. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross for all mankind as a representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice, and that the sufficiency of this atoning sacrifice to accomplish the redemption and justification of all who trust in Him is assured by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead (Romans 3:24,25; 4:25; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Timothy 4:10; Hebrews 2:9; 1 Peter 1:3-5; 2:24; and 2 Peter 2:1).

c. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, and is now exalted at the right hand of God, where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate (Acts 1:9,10; Hebrews 9:24; 7:25; Romans 8:34; 1 John 2:1,2).

4 The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit
a. We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; and, that He is the supernatural agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption (John 16:8-11; 2 Corinthians 3:6; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:13,14).

b. We believe that He is the divine teacher who guides believers into all truth; and, that it is the privilege and duty of all the saved to be filled with the Spirit (John 16:13; 1 John 2:20,27; Ephesians 5:18).

5 The Total Depravity of Man
We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God; and, that man is totally depraved, and, of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition (Genesis 1:26,27; Romans 3:22,23; 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3, 12).

6 Salvation
We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins (Ephesians 2:8-10; John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:18,19).

7 The Eternal Security and Assurance of Believers
a. We believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever (John 6:37-40;10:27-30; Romans 8:1,38,39;1 Corinthians 1:4-8; 1 Peter 1:5).

b. We believe that it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God’s Word; which, however, clearly forbids the use of Christian liberty as an occasion to the flesh (Romans 13:13,14; Galatians 5:13; Titus 2:11-15).

8 The Two Natures of the Believer
We believe that every saved person possesses two natures, with provision made for victory of the new nature over the old nature through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit; and, that all claims to the eradication of the old nature in this life are unscriptural (Romans 6:13; 8:12,13; Galatians 5:16-25; Ephesians 4:22-24; Colossians 3:10; 1 Peter 1:14-16; 1 John 3:5-9.

I had to leave several articles off, as it was twice as long as would fit hear. I figured this was best, because you can see a REAL Doctrinal Statement, of a church I was actually affiliated with. But this is the kind of BIBLICAL PROOF OF WHAT WE BELIEVE, that I have had to search for, to insure when we moved, we would find a Church that agrees with our Beliefs. I think that kind of search is an absolute necessity.

We had one bad experience that the Church Board had voted to change a major theological position about 3 years in, from Church Planting to eventually getting their own building. Many of us felt deceived, causing a church split with that eventually caused the church to close.
IT TAUGHT ME to ask MORE QUESTIONS OF A PASTOR.

I do not want to cause you not to study, because that is not Exercising your spiritual muscles for your Human Spirit. You see, I listened to Over 500 cassette tapes of sermons of mostly John MacArthur and Chuck Swindoll, OVER 4 times each, for years while at work. THAT WAS MY SPIRITUAL EXERCISE, while I sorted mail at night at the Post Office. Now I do not have a great deal of SCRIPTURE MEMORIZED, but those tapes FED MY Human Spirit.

I will tell you this TRUE story. Remember that I said "I do have a great deal of Scripture Memorized." THAT IS IMPORTANT.

I had my Grandson Joshua with me, and we were walking home from the Beach. (Yeah, I used to live 3 blocks from the beach in California.) Just as I got to my driveway, I notice the 2 Mormon Missionaries a block north had spotted me, and they came at me in HIGH GEAR. I hurried to get my Grandson in the House, and met them on my driveway just below the STEPS, BECAUSE I KNEW I COULD NOT LET THEM IN THE HOUSE.

WHY?

2 John 1:7-11 (HCSB)
7 Many deceivers have gone out into the world; they do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist.
8 Watch yourselves so you don’t lose what we have worked for, but that you may receive a full reward.
9 Anyone who does not remain in Christ’s teaching but goes beyond it, does not have God. The one who remains in that teaching, this one has both the Father and the Son.
10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your home, and don’t say, “Welcome,” to him;
11 for the one who says, “Welcome,” to him shares in his evil works.

You can CONFRONT in your driveway, but NOT IN YOUR HOME. WHY?
Because I lived in a Duplex Apartment and the Neighbor who is not a Christian, would be tempted to invite them in, KNOWING ME as a strong Christian. AND HE HAS NO DEFENSE AGAINST Mormons, who are controlled by evil spirits.

So I confronted them just off my steps.
They would start off with their memorized speech. Telling me about Joseph Smith, and what he taught.
BUT EVERY TIME the Holy Spirit in me would GIVE ME THE ANSWER, and my mouth came open, and OUT WOULD COME BOOK, CHAPTER, AND VERSE, and I QUOTED IT ACCURATELY. Saying, "Yeah, but that Contradicts what HE said in JOHN 1:1." And Yes, I know JOHN 1:1, but after that, every Verse, were verses that I did not KNOW. They went on, and the CORRECT Verse their false belief had just Contradicted, OUT WOULD COME BOOK, CHAPTER, AND VERSE, and I QUOTED IT ACCURATELY. AND that happened at least six more times. TOTALLY SIX MORE VERSES OF SCRIPTURES, THAT I HAD NEVER MEMORIZED, would pop out.

Then one of them Said "I don't see what that matters, because the Bible is FULL of contradictions." I told him, "Maybe your Bible is full of Contradiction, but my bible has No Contradictions in it." Then the Holy Spirit gave me the fastest way to get rid of Mormon Missionaries. I said, "There is only one thing that is wrong with believing what Joseph Smith taught; if you die believing it, you are going to hell!

My did they drop their spiel, instantly, got on their bikes. ONE went out of the DRIVEWAY, and the other rode round and round me, spouting about four times, "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU ARE PRONOUNCING US TO HELL! " Out of the driveway they went, heading towards the Post Office where I work. I had a Mormon as a Postmaster, and they actually tried to get him to fire me. He said he can't. They even had him call the Head Chaplain at the Prison where I Volunteered, who was a Baptist, tried to get him to fire me. Chaplain Bob was laughing so hard when he called me, that I had to get him to repeat the story.

That is the only Time the Holy Spirit give me SCRIPTURE like that, but it solidifies MY FAITH, to where I can NEVER DOUBT THAT HE IS IN ME!

here's a list of mine, more can be added here

whenever I'm tempted to ask "why do I even want God in the first place?"
we love because he loved us (1 John 4:19)
when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself (John 12:32)

anytime I feel that I can't even come to God or feel apart from God
For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all thing (1 John 3:20)
God is capable of compassionate understanding, and John 3:17

anytime I doubt my sincerity, for assurance of salvation
With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26)
read my testimony to see why

none has been lost (John 17:12)
Therefore, salvation cannot be lost

my favorite rhetorical question on salvation topics: isn't it a nice feeling when doubts just "be quiet"? (assured and etheral) <-- my intent for this thread is to collect the best of bible verses, to "armor up" for all possible "case scenarios" life can throw at us, given how struggle for assurance is so common, this question have "earned it's place" in my book, hence "rejoice that your name is written in heaven" (Luke 10:20)

when being overwhelmed by temptation
Luke 10:20 - rejoice (keyword: rejoice) that your name is written in heaven
1 Cor 10:13 - God will give us a way out

when feeling thankless
meditate on Phil 4:8 - whatever is good, of good report, etc.

for faith
faith comes by hearing, and hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17)

for meditative prayer
God even exist in the void of Genesis 1:2 (even Genesis 1:2 becomes interesting!)

be faithful in prayer (Romans 12:12)
this is self-explanatory

when I want spiritual efficiency, to rely on God instead of struggling
the Lord will fight for you, you only need to be still (Exodus 14:14)

to praise God
exalted (Psalms 46:10)
utmost! (Hebrews 7:25)

to remind me why context is important
Thou shall not (Exodus 20) rightly divide the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15) lol

to keep believing in God
prefrontal cortex (see @calibob for more information) and Psalms 139:14

the balanced understanding of God's character
John 8:7 and John 8:11

to remind me the purpose of how prayer can serve others
Eph 6:18 - keep on praying for all the Lord's people

incase if Christians are being accused of being narrowed-mineded, and also for witnessing and being a testimony
Romans 11:14 - to provoke the envy to save the unsaved

if no one desires Jesus with burning envy, as long as there's alternative, no one will come to Jesus, no one will get saved

when being persecuted by the anger of other people
the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God (James 1:20)
and Romans 12:19

to be encouraged for witnessing and being a testimony
few are chosen (Matthew 22:14) (hint: few is greater than none, therefore there is hope)

anytime I worry about "being held accountable for what I know about the bible" and satan can abuse that worry to deter me from reading the bible
Do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is (Eph 5:17)

and I can imagine God being a commander in chief, with authoritative command on that verse, and I say "yes sir" with a soldier like salute

and, God want us to understand his will, and that comes from the Bible, so God wants us to be knowledgable about the Holy Bible as well.

and this explains why I have Eph 5:17 as my favorite verse in the about me section of my profile

and more will be added as I learn more about God, the Bible, and I want to know, what are some of your favorite verses relative to each situations you've been through, please list them in the comment section down below

powerful OP!
my favorite verse relative to situations

oh, and I forgot to list "James 4:7" for all possible aspect of spiritual warfare

Who is our teacher? God.

15 All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point
you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.
Phil 3

23 Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him,
and we will come to him and make our home with him.
24 He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not
my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.
John 14
