Not By Works

The proof is in the pudding and these things have been written for those that believe and by believing we can KNOW NOW that we have eternal life.....

but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.

For those that doubt the O.T. made clear Christ and forgiveness of sins in HIS NAME by BELIEF

"Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins."

Those that believe are FREED from ALL things...something the LAW cannot DO........nor adherence to the LAW....

And through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses.

How much clearer can it be made...........BELIEVE and be SAVED

They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household."

Imagine that....those that BELIEVE will NOT BE disappointed......

Just as it is written, "BEHOLD, I LAY IN ZION A STONE OF STUMBLING AND A ROCK OF OFFENSE, AND HE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED."

The FLIP SIDE...those that embellish faith with works to gain or keep salvation WILL be DISAPPOINTED

LORD, LORD, HAVE WE NOT DONE many wonderful works in your name, HAVE WE NOT BLAH BLAH BLAH........

Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that JESUS has been raised fro the dead = SAVED and ETERNAL LIFE

That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved

WHOEVER believes that JESUS IS THE CHRIST is BORN of GOD.....

Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and whoever loves the Father loves the child born of Him.

Notice the order......

The earth beareth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear

1. 1st step the blade GROWS
2. 2nd step then the ear Grows
3. 3rd step FRUIT in the ear

Imagine that....ONE yields fruit in IT'S SEASON.......

How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.

These next set of verses deal with growth and maturity in a believer...........we will start with....

Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.

Exactly......the bible states to not be removed from the SIMPLICITY that is found in CHRIST

Notice the goal is unity.....and we cannot undermine that UNITY will only come when two are agreed.....opposing doctrines will never be unified...


Until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ,

NOTICE...JESUS is the BEGINNER and FINISHER of our faith.....

Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

NOTICE again true believers within the ranks of a true N.T. church are to be UNIFIED with ONE goal....the binding glue being LOVE

That their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God's mystery, that is, Christ Himself

The Corinthian assembly had some 15 errors........the root of their problem being maturity....and exactly why Paul equates their issue with the "GIFTS" to being childish.......

Brethren, do not be children in your thinking; yet in evil be infants, but in your thinking be mature.

Notice the order....

a. Filled with the will of God
b. Having spiritual understanding of God's will
c. Using spiritual WISDOM to apply God's will
d. So they can walk worthy, please the LORD and BEAR FRUIT in every good work and
e. Increasing in the knowledge of God

For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God

Another Corinthian assembly scripture dealing with their carnal immaturity.....I stand amazed at how many base their church theology and practice on this church when in truth they were CARNAL, IMMATURE, FLESHLY and walking LIKE MERE MEN instead of God's children ......

And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to men of flesh, as to infants in Christ. I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive it. Indeed, even now you are not yet able, for you are still fleshly. For since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly, and are you not walking like mere men?

For the "INSTA FRUIT" bearers......note the following.....we have already proven that LOVE is a process of growth and maturity based upon the word PERFECTED>>>>being applied....

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Love abounding MORE and MORE indicates GROWTH......

And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ; having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
