Then why do you preach against His revealed truth?

The new testament is not a new law book, this is plainly obvious and yet you argue it is??
What did you do with all of Jesus' teachings when he walked the earth?!!!

There is a group going round the UK trying to get churches to focus on sharing ones faith.
They go for the 3 minutes approach, 1 minute what I was like before I came to christ, 1 minute on how I came to Christ
and 1 minute on how my life changed.

They used a three world illustration. God alone, man alone, Christ opening the door and asking one in, believer in heaven.
And then asking the person you are talking to where they would put themselves and then introducing steps they can take
to achieve the next steps. Like most techniques it works occasionally but is often too like a formula.

Another suggestion is taking a character in the gospel and how they expressed their love of Christ.
I would take the woman who washed Jesus's feet with her tears and dried them with her hair.
Another could be Peter taking a sword to defend Jesus and cutting off the servants ear.
Right ambition, wrong implementation.
The Bible speaks of people needing to hear the message. I hardly think that it should be timed to three minutes.
People need to know that Jesus tells us how to be saved in the Holy Bible.
The Bible is available to all now.
It is not like times past!

:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

That sounds like something paul would say to a city when he went to open the word of God, "Search for Jesus teachings!!"

lol.. If we could obey ourselves to salvation, WHy did Jesus come in the first place. He should have just stayed in heaven, and gave us the power to obey.. because we could save ourselves
Amen brother. And as I said: His gospel has no REAL LIFE application. Its just not realistic.

I know people who are addicts, they get saved they INSTANTLY quit. Thats good, praise God. But do they INSTANTLY become the most loving person ever? Do they instantly clean their minds from all the filth thats piled up? Obviously not. Thats just unrealistic. And by that standard nobody would be saved.

Its all about spiritual GROWTH. From milk to meat! not to meat and perfection day one!

Thats absurd. I have never heard anyone preach that before!

Not good to make people twice the son of hell.
What are you suggesting that people who come to faith in Christ through repentance is wrong?
The danger of antagonism between extremes is one ends up polarised.
We all start our walk with Jesus as young believers, who need to grow.
The seed that is planted is His word and His Spirit.

As an evangelist you have to trust the church that nurtures them brings them to real reality and life in Him.

Just being ccurious here:

How did people get saved before they could read or had the Bible?

OH WELL: I'll take a break from the computer and go bang my head to the wall. It burns about 250 calories per hour.

You have to realise the gospel is a message competing with many other messages.
It is one step along the road, not the whole road or the whole message.

So street evangelism or one to one is often just an introduction.
Sometimes it is the whole thing. I brought one lady to Christ in a 10 minute conversation.
At the right time things take place. Sometimes people take months/years of witnessing.

There is no more churches like in the new testament times.

You teach people that repent means turn to God?!

Is that what you have been teaching?

I really want to know.

Don't you know we are to turn to God and confess, and repent of our sins and have faith in Jesus?

People got hindered by people like you.

The Catholics had a big hold on keeping people from being saved, and the protestants too.

The Catholics didn't even want people to read the Bibles they had unless a priest or nun was there.

Funnily enough yes, we are sinners who need to leave sin and walk in righteousness, because we find
forgiveness through the cross and faith in Jesus. As this environment is so limited, you have to assume
this is what people mean in street witnessing. Unless they are totally free grace people.

So which church denomination did you convince her to join?
That is not salvation.

You had her search for God or search for the 'right' denomination?

You had her struggle with supporting a church building and a pastor?

John 16:12-15 [blb] -

12 Yet I have [/I have yet] many things to say to you, but you are not able to bear them now. 13 But when He the, Spirit of truth, shall come, He will guide you into all the truth. For He will not speak from Himself, but whatever He may hear, He will speak. And He will declare to you the things coming. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take from that which is Mine and will disclose it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Because of this, I said that He will take from that which is Mine and will disclose it to you.

[this is what we see in the remainder of scripture, recorded there]

I have only seen people in the street preach faith alone.

Paul did not call the corinthian church who struggled with sexual sin among other sins unsaved, He called them babes in christ.

The people seem to think God will just change us without any growth, I mean think of that, How can you appreciate God if you do not learn by doing?

Its modern day phariseeism, They call it excusing or loving sin, and failure to repent.,or hating obedience. which is a lie.

I was on a train going on a trip abroad to a conference. I could just give her a book
and my prayers. Life in Jesus is sharing as He leads.

You are not impressing me.
There is something about reaching out to others that works with where they are, and
helping them take a few steps further on.

If in your world there are only people who do not know and those who know everything,
unfortunately this is not the real world or the church we minister within.
