Hi E-g agreed, the preeminence of love, "agape love" we may know how to give earthly love but only agape love first comes from the Father and God's love is then shed abroad in our hearts and we love because He first loved us. And this agape love is the same love that the Father has for the Son in John Ch17 Jesus' high priestly prayer;
So that by Gods abiding love in the believer we are eternally saved so that
we may serve and obey an awesome loving God. The same love God has for His Son is the same love we as believers have, of course I know you know this so I am only stating a promise of God to all believers...
John17:26
I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that
"the love you have for me may be in them" and that I myself may be in them."
1 Corinthians 13:4-8,13 -- "Agape Love"
4) Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5) It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
6) Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
7) It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8) Love never fails.
13) And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
