Your correction is welcome but to be sure I understand what you mean if by using the term second coming I was referring to, Christ appearing following the Great Tribulation when survivors on earth will see our savior coming in the clouds;

Matthew24:30
30)

"and then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory."

Definition: Parousia
  1. presence
  2. the coming, arrival, advent
    1. the future visible return from heaven of Jesus, to raise the dead, hold the last judgment, and set up formally and gloriously the kingdom of God.
Yeah I caught that, but they are tied together....the great trib sets the stage, kills the lights and paves the way for the Son to be revealed in his time. :)

Try again....and too be honest, you're not that bright if you think I or any other believer cannot biblically judge a false gospel by the word of God!
Agreed, "Faithful are the wounds of a friend."

Romans 6 is so often misinterpreted in its import. Paul is talking to those who are not yet in the covenant. Sin being a new concept to them.
The fact you could not tell that was from 1 John and not romans 6 is disheartening. And not favorable for your argument.
I don't add to what was said. I simply recalled what was said. Without the law there is no sin. Because sin is transgression of the law.
Thats the mistake of most legalists. They take a verse, and make that one verse explain a whole concept or doctrine, when it does not.

As jesus said, The law says, But I tell you. We could not break the law. Yet still sin what Jesus was saying, the pharisees could not see this, Thats why they thought they were perfect.

The ten commandments of God pre-dated Moses and his visit to Mt. Sinai.
I have no idea what this has to do with What Mpses said and what Paul quoted in Gal 3. The context of the curse was the ten commandments. And other commands, The context was the law Given by God to moses. Which included the ten. Paul even mentioned one of the ten in his talk of the curse..

Sin has been the same since adam and eve. And it will always be the same, And sin Causes death, as Paiul said, the penalty of sin is death, The GIFT OF GOD is eternal life.

In this aspect. All of Gods commands including the ten have been active since adam. Nothing changed, they did not just become sins when they were given to Moses. The purpose of the law. And those commands was to prove our guilt and lead us to christ, trying to take these commands and say foll=owing them is the way to righteousness is foolish. They were never given for that reason.

2 Peter 1:5-7 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.

We ARE saved by faith in Christ. And He takes us into love. This Scripture clearly shows us that faith is the foundation. And we ADD to it. Our Lord lays principle upon principle down. And the first block is faith in Christ. But we don't stop there... we keep being built up in Him until we become love.

And love IS the fulfillment of the law. (Romans 10:13)

Here's a confirming Scripture to this interpretation:

Eph 4:15Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, 16from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.

Your not free from anything, Your still trying to make yourself righteous so you can be granted entrance into heaven, Your no different than the jews you follow. And that law you strive so hard to follow. it will condemn you if you do not turn from your self righteousness, and look to Jesus.
It's interesting how certain people will claim they don't believe they are saved by works out of one side of their mouth, yet out of the other side of their mouth, they go on and on about how much they follow Jesus/keep the commandments/obey the law and often that's how they "define" believing in Him, yet they mention nothing about trusting in Christ's finished work of redemption as the ALL-sufficient means of their salvation (Romans 1:16; 3:24-28). It's always about what they do or think they did for Jesus, but not about what Jesus did for them.
