Jesus is the linen. It is His righteousness not ours.

I'm not sure that point is being pushed here. I know it is being heard, that's for sure. But I don't think there is anyone here who has said works are the required payment for salvation. Not one.

What is being said is works show whether you have eternal life in you or not. (Which is why I can not consider several who post here as having eternal life in them based on how they consistently mistreat me and others.) And so in that way works determine if you are saved or not. That message falls on deaf ears in the church today. This thread is proof of that. Once saved always saved teaching made it so the church can not hear that message. And I mean exactly that. They literally can not process the argument in their minds. That's how powerful the deception is right now in the church.




There is.

The person who is living in their old life as a matter of lifestyle is not born again. Whether they lost their salvation or never had it to begin with is meaningless since the simple fact exists that they do not now have eternal life for it to even matter. And works matter only to salvation to the extent they show one to have eternal life already and are ready to meet Jesus when he returns.

There's your line.

Works do matter. Just not the way most people in the church can only understand them to matter.

This same judgement you mete out on others will come back on you. Best walk that straight line, no wavering. Am wondering how all the "rules" as you see them, you will be able to "do".

God doesn't "punish" His sons, He corrects them. When God punishes, it is with wrath. There is no condemnation or wrath for His children. Jesus took all the punishment for us on the cross.

amen, we see that in Acts 2 where Peter told the people even though YOU crucified Christ, God still offers forgiveness, He took it in our place and God ressurected him as prophesied. All you need to do is call out on the name of the lord and you will be saved.

As long as one false witness keeps pushing a works based dogma...I will keep posting....and will even keep posting till the cows come home to combat dogma that does not save....or have the power to save

The point of that verse was not to associate with wicked people.

You all who are touting works (not that I am saying there won't be works) are not giving the power of Ressurrection life enough credit.

Sin for a believer is the old way that we have died to. A renewed mind takes time. Understanding comes as one is able to hear. And truth is that we grow from the seed of truth that we began in. We grow into the image and growth is fulfilled completely when we see Him. Growth is continuous by the same way while here. As we see...we become.

And love believes the best of others. It's a greater power for change. Accusations and condemnation only hinders. But correction is love will bring about the results desired. With those around us? Sometimes it's best to keep the mouth shut, and pray. Believe Gods truth. And wait.

It is not Christlike that is for sure. Would Jesus do that? He came to save, He even asked his father to forgive the men nailing him to the cross.

The salvation consists of allowing the Jesus' Grace ables us to do for the neighbor what they will never get doing for themselves.

Blame shift away,, We do not hate him, We hate his sin,, All he would have to do is repent, ans stop lying about people. And even if we still did not agree with his gospel. We would not have to call him out for his sin.
