MAN....you really take the cake.....HE quotes a verse which proves you wrong and you forgive his misunderstanding.....you know the rich man burning in hell refused to believe God's word and Abraham's testimony and argued against it........the point is obvious......!

I agree that there was the "original" sin, and it introduced death to the world, but "death" is not sin.
I never committed a sin till I was about six years old.
To die before that sin, would have precluded me from the lake of fire.
Another thread perhaps?
You never committed a sin till you was about 6 years old????

Given that you beleive you can only be sinless when you place your faith in Jesus and have the Holy Spirit I severely doubt your above claim along with the claims you make today.

And there is the argue about works or not works.

But some Russians pries finished his speech saying, that "Let's not go to dispute, but work" Work for the Gospel.

If the "me that loved sin" has been killed, why is it committing sin?
Please have faith in the power of God that says "And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh, with the affections and lusts." (Gal 5:24)

. . .

That DOES NOT MEAN WE ARE SINLESS, but rather that Penalty for all of our sins were PAID FOR on the CROSS. NOR DOES It MEAN we no longer need to Confess each new sin.

5:24 Those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh. The verb tense here indicates something that happened decisively in the past. It actually occurred at the time of our conversion. When we repented, there was a sense in which we nailed the old, evil, corrupt nature to the cross with all its affections and lusts. We determined that we would no longer live to cater to our fallen nature, that it would no longer dominate it. Of course, this decision has to be renewed continually in our lives. We must constantly keep the flesh in the place of death.

Believer's Bible Commentary: A Thorough, Yet Easy-to-Read Bible Commentary That Turns Complicated Theology Into Practical Understanding.
4. The Provision For Victory Over Sin (5:24-26)

5:24. Paul next explained that believers (lit., "those who are of Christ Jesus") need not be responsive to the sinful nature because they have crucified it. This does not refer to self-crucifixion or self-mortification. Rather, it refers to the fact that by means of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, Christians were identified with Christ in His death and resurrection. Paul declared that this had been his experience (cf. 2:20) and that of all believers (cf. Rom. 6:1-6; Col. 2:11; 3:9). While co-crucifixion took place potentially at the cross, it becomes effective for believers when they are converted. This does not mean that their sin nature is then eradicated or even rendered inactive but that it has been judged, a fact believers should reckon to be true (cf. Rom. 6:11-12). So victory over the sinful nature's passions and desires has been provided by Christ in His death. Faith must continually lay hold of this truth or a believer will be tempted to try to secure victory by self-effort.

The Bible Knowledge Commentary: An Exposition of the Scriptures by Dallas Seminary Faculty.
5:24 have crucified the flesh. One of four uses of “crucified” that does not refer to Christ’s Crucifixion (cf. 2:20; 6:14; Rom. 6:6). Here Paul states that the flesh has been executed, yet the spiritual battle still rages in the believer (see notes on Rom. 7:14-25). Paul’s use looks back to the Cross of Christ, where the death of the flesh and its power to reign over believers was actually accomplished (Rom. 6:1-11). Christians must wait until their glorification before they are finally rid of their unredeemed humanness (Rom. 8:23), yet by walking in the Spirit they can please God in this world.

You used the word Try.
We try.
Only Jesus kept all the commands. I'm reading here that some are saying we don't have to but we'll still be saved. I may be wrong about this but it's what it sounds like.

It is NOT "HAVE TO". IT IS "ONE WHO TRULY LOVES JESUS WILL WANT TO OBEY HIS COMMANDS". Obedience IS NOT a means to Salvation, but rather part of the new nature, of one truly who WAS SAVED the moment they genuinely Believed, receiving JESUS as LORD, which means MASTER.

Obedience is manifested in us because of GOD's LOVE having been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, the VERY MOMENT we were SAVED, Rom.5:5.

Other than they live in a body of death they were born with? No one has received the goal of their faith a new incorruptible body . Have you?

Heb 11:39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:

Yep that’s so true because we want to.
Because we love him.

Mind you have to be honest.

There has been many a time in my life when God has asked me to do something.

One event was he asked to go and offer to pray for a terminally ill wife of a shopkeeper who our company buys the milk from.

I really didn’t know either of them.

Anyway As I drove into the car park God said to me “I would like you to go and offer to pray for her”

I turned the engine off and sat in the car and said “No I’m not gonna do it”
He kept prompting me and I kept saying no.
Actually I got quite animated.
If you had been in a car next mine and looked in you would have seen a man raising his hands in despair and talking to his windscreen. You would have probably thought “Do I need to call an ambulance”

Anyway and this is no lie and it doesnt cover me with glory.

I got out of my car, slammed the door locked the car.
As I was walking through the car park I am talking out loud.

”Ok God I’m gonna do what you have asked and you better make sure you show up”
I kept saying that all the way.

So I go into the shop.
Ask the husband how his wife is doing?
She had about 3 days left.

So I plucked up the courage and asked “Can I go and pray for her?

He said “No you had better not, because if you did she would tell where to go and stick your prayers and belief and he used the expletives that would encompass her words”

I left wondering what in earth was the purpose of that?
So l asked God that question.

God said to me “I asked you to do it not because you have to but because I want you to, yes it wasn’t the answer you expected but you have no idea what I can now do with this, the husband knows you are a Christian, you have shown my love and offered it to two people but you have been obedient to what I have asked you to do”

Even though I grumped all the way I was obedient becuase I wanted to be.

Not because I had to be.

Wanting to be and doing shows the love of Jesus to others.
To me that is why I live for.

That is what we should all live for

I have come to the conclusion that the 1st premonition that we have is of the Lord and when we second guess or go with some other option it will usually not work out as it should have.....loved the use of CAR PARK.....makes me think of being in AU and hearing it there ;)

I wonder if the workers for, sinless perfectionists and the I keep myself saved crowd has done enough today to remain saved.....??

NOPE....not yesterday, today or even tomorrow......

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy has he saved us <----PAST TENSE for all the deceivers who say salvation is not guaranteed or given until the end......!
1.Not by works( NOT VOID OF WORKS) but by grace thru FAITH.(eph 2:8-9)
2.Justified by works and NOT BY FAITH ALONE.(james 2:24)
3.Faith that Worketh in Love.(gal 5:6)
4.Faith and Action Working TOGETHER.(james 2:22)

Salvation is by GRACE through FAITH and NOT BY WORKS(of ourselves).(#1)AND THIS IS NOT WITHOUT WORKS.

It is NOT BY FAITH ALONE(#2)but it WORKS in LOVE(#3)thus FAITH & LOVE(works of obedience(romans 1:5) manifested in ACTION and in TRUTH)(1john 3:16-18)are working TOGETHER.(#4)

2 John 1:6 AND THIS IS LOVE: THAT WE WALK IN OBEDIENCE TO HIS COMMANDS. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you WALK IN LOVE.

THE FIRST PHASE OF SALVATION IS TO BELIEVE IN THE ONE THAT GOD HAS SENT AND IN HIS WORD OF TRUTH, THE GOSPEL OF OUR SALVATION.
(john 6:28-29, eph 1:13,romans 10:8-17).
THROUGH THIS FAITH WE WILL RECEIVE THE PROMISED HOLY SPIRIT(the Helper/Counsellor)(gal 3:14, john 14:16-17)

John 6:28-29 Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the WORKS GOD REQUIRES?” Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to BELIEVE in the one he has sent.”

THE SECOND PHASE IS THE WORKING OUT OF THAT SALVATION AND REMAINING/CONTINUING IN THE FAITH TO THE END THROUGH OBEDIENCE TO GOD’S WILL AND COMMANDMENTS, DOING GOOD WORKS. WALKING AS JESUS DID AND BEING A PART OF THE BODY OF CHRIST WHO DOES THE WORKS BEING LED BY THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST WHO IS THE HEAD.

Ephesians 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, HIS BODY OF WHICH HE IS THE SAVIOR.

1 Corinthians 12:28 And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues.

1 Corinthians 3:9 For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.

John 14:12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has FAITH in me WILL DO WHAT I HAVE BEEN DOING. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father

1 Corinthians 15:2 By this gospel you are saved, iF YOU HOLD FIRMLY TO THE WORD I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

Romans 1:5 Through him and for his name’s sake, we received grace and apostleship to call people from among all the Gentiles to the OBEDIENCE that comes from FAITH.

Philippians 2:12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always OBEYED—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—CONTINUE TO WORK OUT YOUR SALVATION WITH FEAR AND TREMBLING.

Romans 6:16 Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey—WHETHER YOU ARE SLAVES TO SIN, WHICH LEADS TO DEATH, OR TO OBEDIENCE, WHICH LEADS TO RIGHTEOUSNESS?

2 Corinthians 9:13 Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the OBEDIENCE THAT ACCOMPANIES YOUR CONFESSION OF THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.

Ephesians 4:11-13 It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to PREPARE God’s people FOR WORKS OF SERVICE, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the FULLNESS of Christ.

Romans 2:7 To those who by persistence in DOING GOOD seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.

Galatians 6:9 Let us not become weary in DOING GOOD, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus TO DO GOOD WORKS, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

1 Timothy 6:18-19 Command them TO DO GOOD, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.

Hebrews 5:8-9 Although he was a son, he learned OBEDIENCE from what he suffered and, once made PERFECT, he became the SOURCE OF ETERNAL SALVATION for all who OBEY HIM.

Matthew 19:16-17 Now a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?” “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, OBEY THE COMMANDMENTS.”

Matthew 25:21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful SERVANT You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. COME AND SHARE YOUR MASTER’S HAPPINESS!’

WE ARE SANCTIFIED BY THESE TRUTHS AS IT IS WRITTEN:
John 17:17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.

James 1:22 BUT BE YE DOERS OF THE WORD AND NOT HEARERS ONLY deceiving your own selves.

Romans 2:13 (For it is not the hearers of the law who are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God: that WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS; and His commandments are not grievous.

1 John 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

Ephesians 3:19 and to know this LOVE that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all THE FULLNESS OF GOD.

THE THIRD PHASE OF SALVATION IS SALVATION FROM GOD’S WRATH. THIS IS DEPENDING ON GOD’S MERCY AND JUDGMENT(JUSTICE).

Romans 9:15 For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”

1 John 4:17 In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because IN THIS WORLD WE ARE LIKE HIM.

Matthew 12:36-37 But I tell you that MEN WILL HAVE TO GIVE ACCOUNT ON THE DAY OF JUDGMENT for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

John 16:8 When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me; in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father,(ref:john 14:12) where you can see me no longer; and in regard to judgment,(ref:hebrews 10:26-27) because the prince of this world now stands condemned.

Romans 2:5-10 But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. God “will give to each person according to what he has done.” To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.

Romans 14:10 You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? FOR WE WILL ALL STAND BEFORE GOD’S JUDGMENT SEAT.

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

Hebrews 9:27-28 Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, NOT TO BEAR SIN, BUT TO BRING SALVATION to those who are waiting for him.

1 Peter 4:17-18 For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for THOSE WHO DO NOT OBEY the gospel of God? And, “If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the SINNER?”

Hi BillG, miracle's sometimes happen in "Car Parks", hers's a brief story taken from
"The Pilgrims Progress", that you may like. Great testimony for our Saviour.

THE PILGRIM'S PROGRESS

Part II

VALIANT FOR TRUTH'S VICTORY

When he came to the place where the cross and the sepulchre was, he did meet with one that bade him look there; but he gnashed with his teeth, and stamped, and said he was resolved to go back to his own town. Before he came to the gate, he met with EVANGELIST, who offered to lay hands on him, to turn him into the way again. But this TURN-AWAY resisted him; and having done much despite unto him, he got away over the wall, and so escaped his hand."

Then they went on; and just at the place where LITTLE-FAITH formerly was robbed, there stood a man with his sword drawn, and his face all bloody. Then said Mr. GREAT-HEART, "What art thou?" The man made answer, saying, "I am one whose name is VALIANT-FOR-TRUTH. I am a pilgrim, and am going to the Celestial City. Now as I was in my way, there three men did beset me, and propounded unto me these three things:

1. Whether I would become one of them?
2. Or go back from whence I came?
3. Or die upon the place? To the first I answered, I had been a true man a long season; and therefore it could not be expected that I now should cast in my lot with thieves.

"My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause: Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit: We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil: Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:" Proverbs 1:10-14

"So we fell to it, one against three, for the space of above three hours. They have left upon me, as you see, some of the marks of their valour; and have also carried away with them some of mine. They are but just now gone. I suppose they might, as the saying is, hear your horse dash; and so they betook them to flight."

Great-heart.
But here were great odds, three against one!

Valiant.
"'Tis true; but little and more are nothing to him that has the truth on his side. 'Though a host should encamp against me,' said one, 'my heart shall not fear. Though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident,' etc.

"Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident." Psalms 27:3

But you fought a great while, I wonder you were not weary.

Valiant.
I fought till my sword did cleave to my hand;

"He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the LORD wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil." 2 Samuel 23:10

Great-heart.
Said they anything more to discourage you?

Valiant. Yes; they told me of one Mr. FEARING, who was a pilgrim, and how he found this way so solitary, that he never had a comfortable hour therein; also that Mr. DESPONDENCY had like to have been starved therein; yea, and also--which I had almost forgot--that CHRISTIAN himself, about whom there has been such a noise, after all his ventures for a celestial crown, was certainly drowned in the Black River, and never went a foot farther; however, it was smothered up.

Great-heart.
And did none of these things discourage you?
Valiant. No; they seemed but as so many nothings to me.
Great-heart. How came that about?
Valiant. Why, I still believed what Mr. TELL-TRUE had said; and that carried me beyond them all.
Great-heart. Then this was your victory, even your faith.

Valiant.
It was so: I believed, and therefore came out, got into the way, fought all that set themselves against me; and, by believing, am come to this place.

"Who would true valour see,
Let him come hither:
One here will constant be,
Come wind, come weather.
There's no discouragement
Shall make him once relent
His first avowed intent
To be a pilgrim.

Who so beset him round
With dismal stories,
Do but themselves confound--
His strength the more is.
No lion can him fright:
He'll with a giant fight;
But he will have a right
To be a pilgrim.

Hobgoblin nor foul fiend
Can daunt his spirit:
He knows he at the end
Shall life inherit.
Then, fancies, fly away!
He'll fear not what men say;
He'll labour night and day
To be a pilgrim."

Very scary and very delusional.

Alas the delusions they beleive is their snare.
And all it leads to a Pharisee attitude.

You go with what God is telling you and revealing to you.

Jesus intercedes for us. When we sin he intercedes for us, when Satan accuses as sinners he intercedes for us.

Alas the sinless perfection brigade accuse as sinners because we acknowlede we sin and therfore not saved.

Lets reflect

Satan must be having a field day. We have those who profess they don’t sin and accuse us of having no faith in Jesus because we sin.

Thank God Jesus is interceding against such lies of the accuser, Both Satan himself and those he uses to do his dirty work.
