weak believing? strong believing?

A bruised reed He will not break
And a dimly burning wick He will not extinguish;
He will faithfully bring forth justice. (Is 42:3)

A battered reed He will not break off, and a smouldering wick He will not put out, until He leads justice to victory. (Matt 12:20)

They aren't yet prepared good ground. Do you think that is you? I don't.
i think most everyone here is, they just have to take hold of it, and say yes god, I trust you, I repent that I have yet to give my eternity to you! But now I ask you to give me that hope that I see others in here have, amen and amen!

I kind of see God grasping our arm and we are grasping the Lord's righteous right arm. Those who let go in my opinion are those who were one of the 3 bad soils that only last for a period of time.

They don't endure and don't persevere because they aren't truly born of the Spirit or they'd have the power to continue on in the faith. They have a dead faith.

god never had a hold of them, that's why they fell, he is much stronger than s, he can hold all of us in his hand at once, even if we lose grip, we will not fall,

Because we think one concept at a time it is our weakness.

Now the concepts here are
1. You come to faith and are sealed eternally in Christ.
2. Whatever state you are in after this event, it cannot undo it.
I would suggest if our weakness is because we turn things upside down like the man in Mathew 7 or that of the apostate Jews . Two different concepts. One earthly inspired of the father of lies, the other heavenly called the "hearing of faith" hearing God (Christ)

We come to the faith of Christ, the faith of God it comes from hearing Him through the scriptures.

The other position is also simple
1. You establish a conditional relationship with God where you trust Him,
accept His forgiveness through the cross and walk in His ways.
2. You can break this relationship and come to distrust God and ignore His
ways and walk your own.
The condition is he calls us to faith that comes from hearing His voice. And according to the law of faith we are kept by the same "hearing of His faith", not of our own self. But according to the gospel from the exclusive faith that comes from hearing God to the same spirit of faith.By His faith we walk/understand (Him )

Even Christians do foolish things. You can break this relationship and come to distrust God and ignore His ways and walk your own.But he cannot deny Himself if he has paid the eternal wage of sin.

The gospel in a nut shell as it reads

O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?Gal 3:1

Has your own suffering been in vain?

I push nothing but share the New Testament. It teaches plenty to those willing to receive. I believe the Messiah over you always and forever.

You may not see, hear or perceive but by the Power of GOD many love the Truth and receive it willingly.

But may it be that one day soon you start believing.
I do believe.....

a. Jesus saves eternally by faith<--I pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that BELIEVE
b. Works do not save or keep saved<---Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his MERCY has he saved us.
c. To blend FAITH and WORKS FOR salvation, to KEEP salvation or finish OFF salvation is a false gospel with no power <--See Galatians 1 and 3
d. Using a collective message to a faithful church to push a works based heresy is false...see B and C above.
e. Hs name is JESUS.....I have no problem saying JESUS......
f. Eternal and everlasting mean exactly that...eternal and everlasting
g. The bible teaches eternal security
f. Only blind Pharisees pushed a works/law based dogma with no power

Matt 4.17
[SUP]17 [/SUP]From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
at hand means near, or better, at the doorstep.

the kingdom f God was not fully here until the resurrection is of Christ, when all things changed.

Do we become righteous because Jesus give us His righteousness or are we seen as righteous because Jesus is our advocate before the Father?

Is Justification imparted or imputed?
Amen....David was clear....Blessed is the man to whom God imputes righteousness without the deeds of the law (works)

Justified by faith......Romans, Galatians, Ephesians etc......

A few years ago (in 2011), my daughter and I were going through some of my belongings, and I came across a calendar from the year 2000... and I said, oh! It is only from last year, and then I looked up at her, and she was frozen in place, like her brain just stopped working at the fact of me dropping ten years just like that

I think that was also when we found the calendar and accompanying diary I kept of her time in the hospital as a preemie, for she was born at twenty four weeks gestation weighing under a pound and a half, and I wrote her weight gain and loss and other stats down every day, how much she ate, the day she first opened her eyes, the day she extubated herself and never went back on the ventilator, the many times she was "bagged," the first time I was ever allowed to hold her, and the first time I ever heard her cry, man, I will never forget that, walking into the special care nursery and hearing a baby that I had never heard before, the hair on my arms raised! It was like I knew it was her from across the room, many months after she had been born, though I had ever heard that sound before. She has those mementos now :)
thank you for sharing, it has blessed my morning.

If we have put on Christ's righteousness, Jesus would not need to stand between us and God because we would be Perfectly righteous.

Amen, like the blood on the mercy seat between the cherub and all the things God has to condemn us.

I agree and the kingdom was in Jesus while He was in the earth. Now after the resurrection Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth.

Matthew 28:18 (NASB)
[SUP]18 [/SUP] And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

Colossians 2:10 (NASB)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority;

Hi EG...His prize is to be in heaven, face to face with our Lord Jesus Christ...To be in the presence of God and all heavenly things, and to hear those beautiful words " Well done my good and faithful servant " :) ...xox...

Hi rosemary

that is not a prise sis, salvation is a gift, to a reward that can be earned,

a runner runs a race to get the gold medal, but only one gets that medal,

that medal is not salvation, you can not run fast enough, far enough or hard enough to earn your right to be in Gods presence, that is why Christ came in the first place,

does this his make Sense? I am not trying to tear you down or judge you, just showing what I see

Are we justified by Christs imputed righteousness or His imparted Righteousness?

Even as David also describes the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputes righteousness without works,

I agree. :)
I do not want different hats or crowns to wear. That's like cracker jack trinkets to me. I want to be with Him. There is no reward that I could desire other than that. I don't even care where I sit as long as I am there, in His Presence. :) I don't even care if I have a nosebleed seat!

You can desire it all you want, that is not a reward, that is a gft. You can not earn your way to heaven, I thought the whole argument was that you were not teaching a gospel of works trying to earn salvation? Now you say this. I am saddened.

Because a true believer is believing and trusting Him. :D
My disconnect comes when someone seems to be saying continued trust/abiding is not necessary.
Some men say we have to continue, to abide in Him, and they see His faithfulness all the time to keep them by the struggles of growing faith He brings them to. They look back and see how faithful He has been to them and to His promises. And to say it is necessary to keep abiding does not fill them with fear. Instead, they grow more and more in trust of all He has said. So they abide more and more.

To then say to those men that they are trying to earn their salvation is a mistake, in my opinion. Anything that grows your trust is not a mistake.

They cannot be compared to a man who preaches works to be saved, or Sabbath keeping outwardly. That's not where their heart is.
This is a good point sister. However that which is created is going to inherently do what it is created for.

We were physically born in the flesh by the will of men. By our very inherent nature sin is a natural byproduct of who we are when we are physically born. Some people may be born magnificent specimens of humanity.

Intelligent, strong, great immune system, even compassionate by human standards. Some are born with all manner of maladies and diseases, of both the body and mind.

BOTH WILL sin and die in the flesh.

Those that are born again, are born by the Will of God, not men. They are a totally NEW creation! Some are born anew right from their Spiritual birth with the knowledge, and wisdom to apply AND access ALL the fruit of the Holy Spirit that is available to them

Unfortunately, many, myself included, are Spiritually reborn as a Child of God, but have to be corrected in love by our Father, and to have Him reveal Truths to our New Heart. This can be painful at times. But as you say, looking back, we can see where He ALWAYS had our best interest at heart.

BOTH are His Children. That's who we INHERENTLY are now. So we don't and can't try, or strive, to abide in Him. WE ARE in HIm!

I firmly believe the MORE this Truth grows in our hearts, the MORE we WANT to please Him by loving Him, AND each other, out of ever growing gratitude, and love for what He has done for us and to us.

Hopefully this scratches where a lot of people seem to be itchin!

What!?!?! you did not mention a thing about the skeeters that can and will carry off your first born....and the creature from the black lagoon..

I'm more of a mind to be cautious of sinkholes than critters

one of these days I will get me to a log cabin in the northern woods on a lake
