And that is one of the reasons to not interact with some because of such behavior. It's useless and a waste of time.

The Holy Spirit takes the things of Christ and what He has done and reveals them to us as our minds become renewed to the truths that are in Christ our Lord's finished work on the cross and resurrection.

We are no more saved by works nor "keep being saved" by works than Daffy Duck and Donald Duck are the 2 witnesses in the book of Revelation. Christ alone is the Savior.

He has obtained an eternal redemption for us by His blood. Heb. 9:12

In Him we have redemption through His blood - the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His grace. Eph. 1:7

It's good to leave the scriptures out there in the thread for new viewers to read them but to continue to interact with some is not wise as it only leads to "back and forth" exchanges that do nothing to teach about Christ and our complete reliance on Him alone which is by grace through faith in Him alone.
This would be VERY NICE Grace,

except you ruin them by INCORRECT interpretation.

If you would just post the scriptures and then leave it at that it would be good.

But, alas, you have to twist it around to mean what YOU want it to mean.

James 2

14What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. 24Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. 25Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? 26For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Faith without works is dead...

Saved by works?.. no by Grace through Faith you are saved unto good works.

Can my works save me? Nay, Faith brings works, works can not bring Faith as the Old Testament shows us.

The Just shall live by Faith.. and works follow.

Abraham believed GOD and it was imputed unto him for righteousness.

So a man is justified by his works that come through His Faith.

So the Messiah teaches us to be perfect and righteous and to keep the Commandments.. do you believe Him?

The phrase you use; "Jesus did it all", is wrong. It comes from a well known worship song called; "Jesus Paid it all, All to Him I owe." Your statements are false; at every turn of the page.
Truth Talk,
I gave you a like because I want to make sure you see this.
NOT because I agree with anything you say.

I'm VERY HAPPY to hear that the expression I use:
JESUS DID IT ALL is wrong.

Know why?

It's those on YOUR side of the isle that use this term all the time, NOT ME.

I was just quoting them.

I don't believe we're to sit back and do nothing because JESUS DID IT ALL, as your side says.

I like to get up and do something too, just like Jesus said to do.

But, thanks for telling your friends there how wrong they are.
That was very nice of you.

By Faith
Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Heb 11:2
For by it the elders obtained a good report.

Heb 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Heb 11:4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

blood has a voice. Jesus speaks mercy to the world by His Voice...blood.

Heb 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

translated. caught up?

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Walking with Him, communing with Him. Partaking of His life. Works will come of our communion.

you can take this or leave it to.. adam and eve where in the garden and got disconnected but still had the chance to come back.. as why else would he cloth them..
He clothed them as a covering for their sin, because their work of fig leaves did not cut it.

It was also a foreshadowing of being covered by the blood of Christ.

There is nothing that we can DO to ADD to what Christ has already done. Christ's finished work of redemption is sufficient and complete to save believers. No supplements needed.

With that being said, this doesn't mean that believers are to sit on their butts and do nothing to promote the Kingdom of God. There are consequences for disobedience and God does chasten His children.
Then why are you so resistant to what I say?
What am I saying that you don't agree with?

The strength of the analogy is in its ability to reveal truth, Jesus was a lot smarter than you give him credit for.

The statement is made about the branch that is not part of him, if anyone does not abide in me, not a branch that disconnects itself from me...because He knew the branch depends on the vine for life.

Reality is a branch cannot disconnect itself even in the real world, it utterly dependent on the vine and the vinedresser to keep it healthy

6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
12 Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.
13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:
19 Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.
20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
21 By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.
22 By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.
23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment.
24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
28 Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
29 By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.
30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.
31 By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.
32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:
33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions.
34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
38 (Of whom the world was not worthy they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

Was He smarter than what YOU give Him (GOD) credit for?

Then may I suggest doing as He commands.

****************************************************

Galatians 6:9-10

Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.

Matthew 5:38-48

"You have heard that it was said, 'AN EYE FOR AN EYE, AND A TOOTH FOR A TOOTH.' "But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. "If anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, let him have your coat also.

Luke 6:27-36

"But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. "Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also; and whoever takes away your coat, do not withhold your shirt from him either.

1 Peter 3:8-13

To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit; not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing. For, "THE ONE WHO DESIRES LIFE, TO LOVE AND SEE GOOD DAYS, MUST KEEP HIS TONGUE FROM EVIL AND HIS LIPS FROM SPEAKING DECEIT.

Psalm 34:12-16

Who is the man who desires life And loves length of days that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil And your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.

Hebrews 13:16

And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

1 Peter 2:20

For what credit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience? But if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favor with God.

1 Peter 3:17

For it is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong.

John 5:28-29

"Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice, and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.

Luke 6:35

"But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men.

Romans 2:5-11

But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, who WILL RENDER TO EACH PERSON ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS: to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life;

1 Timothy 6:17-19

Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy. Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is life indeed.

2 Timothy 2:20-21

Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also vessels of wood and of earthenware, and some to honor and some to dishonor. Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.

James 2:14-21

What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and be filled," and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?

James 3:13

Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.

2 Corinthians 9:8

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed;

Acts 9:36

Now in Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which translated in Greek is called Dorcas); this woman was abounding with deeds of kindness and charity which she continually did.

Philippians 2:12-13

So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

Colossians 1:10-12

so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.

Ephesians 2:10

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

2 Timothy 2:21

Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

1 Peter 2:13-15

Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority, or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right. For such is the will of God that by doing right you may silence the ignorance

This would be VERY NICE Grace,

except you ruin them by INCORRECT interpretation.

If you would just post the scriptures and then leave it at that it would be good.

But, alas, you have to twist it around to mean what YOU want it to mean.

alas we are all saying the same to each other.
Your interpretation is incorrect (that's not referring to you but a quotation) and you twist to fit your belief system.

Problem is that there can be different interpretations. We even see that in bible study guides.

Either side of the equation is not going to change.

What distresses me and i know you are not like this, is when we see people posting
"Your doctrine is sending you to hell"
Calling fellow believers sinners because they don't adhere to your doctrine.

To me the only thing sending someone to hell is rejection of Jesus for salvation in order to be reconciled to God.

One day we will all find out the perfect truth of Jesus and if we believe in him then its eternity with him.
He will test our works and it is he and he only who say "Good and faithful servant in you come"

Anything that detracts from Jesus atonement as God in the flesh who died on the cross and rose again for us is what needs to be challenged.

To me Jesus required two things. Faith in him and as a result we go do and be like him to each other and the world.

I will never believe works are necessary to keep us saved....why?..... because this nullifies the work of the cross which is something that you are not yet able to see.
Read what Fran said very carefully:
...our works keep us saved because JESUS said to do them and it is proof of our salvation.
From the above, how do you get that Fran is saying obedience nullifies the cross? You are the one that can not see that working in order to be saved does not have to mean you are earning your salvation.

The church is conditioned to only be able to think about works in salvation in one way, as earning that salvation. It doesn't fit into the church's thinking that it's possible that works being necessary in salvation is necessary because that obedience shows you have the faith that saves and are born again, just as John said the works of the born again person will do.

She never once said our works continue to earn our salvation. Not once. She doesn't believe that. You're being very closed minded and blind about what she's saying. Reread her post above. Then read it again. Be open. Be honest.
