No I'm not upset with you.
I am glad you posted what you did.
Am so glad you responded. I know I have a habit of thinking people know what I believe and will just understand my posts. Foolish me.

John 17:3 - And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent (which is an intimate, experiential knowledge, found only in a relationship). The term "know" implies intimate, experiential knowledge, through a relationship with Him (which all genuine believers have) and not merely theoretical knowledge. I would not necessarily have to say anything either, because He knows me as well, but to demonstrate what I'm trusting in for salvation, here is what I would say below:

I would say to Jesus, "because You, God in the flesh, died for my sins, was buried, and rose again from the dead on the third day to provide for me eternal life. I have placed my faith (belief, trust, reliance) in YOU alone as the ALL-sufficient means of my salvation. Praise God! :)
I kind of have this idea that when we come to gates of heaven...they will open...but we will be on knees right away. Without a word in our mouth...other than praise.

Amen! Sabbath keeping with all it's rules and regulations, was part of a covenant with Israel that is not applicable to Christians under the New Covenant. Even when Christians set out to worship on the Sabbath, are they truly "keeping the Sabbath?" To "keep the Sabbath" as it was required in the Old Testament would involve compliance with regulations (Exodus 16:23; 35:3; Leviticus 23:32; Jeremiah 17:21) that were strictly enforced.

If Sabbath day observances are still required, so would the burnt offerings which went along with them (Leviticus 19:30; 23:2-3; Numbers 28:1-10; 29:39-40; I Chronicles. 23:30-31; II Chronicles 31:2-4; Isaiah 1:13). These were commanded by God to the sons of Israel. If the seventh day Sabbath is still in affect, then why do not the Sabbatarians seek to obey ALL that the LORD commanded? How can a person say he keeps a certain law when he keeps only part of it?

If the Sabbath day laws were still in effect today, then according to Exodus 31:12-18; 35:1-3; and Numbers 15:32-36, we cannot kindle a fire and anyone who profaned the Sabbath was put to death and any person who does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from his people. Who is going to enforce that? The Jewish synagogue? The Seventh-day Adventist church? The Government? Since we do not live under a theocratic state as ancient Israel did, no Sabbatarian can live consistently under the Mosaic regulations.

We are not to get hung up on the Sabbath day, which is a shadow of things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ (Colossians 2:16-17). :)
Hi Dan

I wonder why your translation changes body to substance? It would be so much clearer to use the KJV IMO for this scriptures understanding and here is why.

body is the word soma:

~G4983
σῶμα
sōma
so'-mah
From G4982; the body (as a sound whole), used in a very wide application, literally or figuratively: - bodily, body, slave.
Total KJV occurrences: 146

Something one can easily get a grip on to see. Versus substance because for me it brings us faith. We can't hold faith, or see faith, but we can have faith and it does indeed bring favor from God, and moves Him on our behalf.

So soma is taken from sozo:

G4982
σώζω
sōzō
sode'-zo
From a primary word σῶς sōs̄ (contraction for the obsolete σάος saos, "safe"); to save, that is, deliver or protect (literally or figuratively): - heal, preserve, save (self), do well, be (make) whole.
Total KJV occurrences: 110

Could we not paraphrase this as all the OT was a shadow and type of the anointed Messiah to come, but Jesus Christ is the present sacrifice eternally of our salvation.

Or something similar. ?

Photo of my wife and I about 5yrs ago in Thailand - In 2012 we received the bad news, cancer, and 2yrs later we moved from our home in Thailand back to California so that I could continue my cancer treatment. Maybe this is to much info but thought you may want to know - God bless!

Here are a few photo's from our Church Family near home. Thailand is 90 percent Buddhist and 2 percent Christian, with a population of 65 million. Most Thai's do not think they have a need to be saved so it is difficult when you present to them the idea of a Savior who died for their sins - Buddhism is a merit based religion. Most Thai village family life revolves around Temple worship, from birth until death. The Christian Hill tribes people, Hmongs, Karen, Lisu and Yao, can wait for years for 1 or 2 new believer's in "Jesu - Jesus" - it is such a joy to be a witness for Jesus Christ to Thai people - they love to hear the Gospel News, but few who want to leave the safety of their childhood faith. - God bless!

Hello TruthTalk,

It was so nice to see the photos you sent.
One day I'll have to upload some photos and learn how to download them onto here.

I'm so sorry to hear of the trouble you've had.
I'm sure everyone here will pray for you, your wife and her entire family.
I know how difficult it is to be far away from family.

When I joined here I made mistakes and one is the flag I have posted.
I'm American, but I live in Italy. I understand you well.

May God bless you.

No man is capable of dioing anything to "help" God, but all men may avail themselves to Him as vessels of His service.

It is written, I understand, all we may give to God is thanksgiving.....I understand this yet I quote it.

There is the mistaken work a person may do to help out the Father but it is istaken if it is not given by Him for the servant to serve.

Again, I undersand when it is written, we must labour to enter into His rest.

Here is a paste of somethinge else I undersand. I do not ike to paste much because anyone may do this, but I see volumes in the forum being pasted wthout any understanding, twisting the few words here and there to fit a personal argument.

Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

The Word is consistenet. Obedience is not works of any kind, it is our due, jkust as we obey our parents i in this age, how much more must we obey our Father Who is in heaven!

Jesus Christ has fuflilled the law in regards to priesthood, the Templle, diet, and many more. There are no longer 613 laws but less than a huindred on morality. Morality will never be out of fashion or obsolete as long as we are yet in this age.

I have not read anything in this thread because I know how the mention of obedience stirs up accusations of being under the law. Well our Salvaion, Jesus, has taught ut s to obey the commandments. If a person reading this does not yet know how what and why, it is only because that person does not know the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Although He was eprfectly obedient for each of us who are saved, He was never "undr the law," and, neither are we who obey Him. It seems those who are truly under the law are those who prop themselves up as interpreters of the law and the Word, usually never having studeid them, and have a quick finger to point due to their legalistic doctrines.

If we are to imitate Christ, we will do as He did, be obedient to the end, knowing He has won the victory for all who believe Him, and being grateful....grateful: giving God thanks.
Hello JJ

Yes.
Speaking about obedience does stir up trouble!
I fail to understand why.

Your entire post is very well put and easy to understand.
Anyone who Loves Yeshua should know all that you've said.

You said above that all God wants, or all we should give Him is our thanks.

I believe God wants our heart.
If we give Him our heart, it means that we are willing to obey Him and do all our good deeds, or works, for His glory.

Psalm 73:1
Proverbs 23:26
1 Samuel 16:7

If we give God our heart, He will make it pure.

I am not absolutely certain, but if we truly are grateful in thanksgiving with all He does, everything, in mind we must be yielding up our being, heart soul andmind.

When we receive the Holy Spirit, I truly believe this happens, but we must continue in Jesus, Yeshua, and never turn aside..

God is always good, so wonderful. He is perfect. My prayer of late has been a plea that He make me "like" Jesus. I realize we will all be just like He on is Great and Glorious day, but I guess lately I feelit urgently, wanting all vestiges of "me" completely gone and all Jesus in place there of. He is the Son of God, I believe, and we must work to be as He, not that any flesh will be, we must do what we are given. Sorry, I got to babbling, forgive that. God bless you always....j

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me
Psalm 51:10;
Psalms 51:16-17
16 For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You do not delight in burnt offering.
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,
A broken and a contrite heart—
These, O God, You will not despise.

Psalms 40:6-8
6 Sacrifice and offering You did not desire;
My ears You have opened.
Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require.
7 Then I said, “Behold, I come;
In the scroll of the book it is written of me.
8 I delight to do Your will, O my God,
And Your law is within my heart.”

Be perfect, like my Father in heaven is perfect.

The above is what He meant...
You explained it perfectly.

No need to be sorry.

If we truly believe and have placed our faith in Jesus we will want to be like him.
We all want to be like him and have all sin in us eradicated.
Trust me I have prayed many many a time I have prayed "Take my sin away, heal my hurts, deal with my pain make me more like Jesus" at times I have been on my knees in tears begging God.

I remember one day God saying to me "If I just took all your sin away, healed you of your struggles straight away, took away your pains and hurts how could I use you to help others with the love and compassion I have for you that I want you to help others in"

The amazing thing is that actually God knows what he is doing.

The stuff I have struggled with for years that he has dealt with he has used me to help others struggling with the same thing.

If God just clicked his fingers and all is well with us what use we be to others?

The Holy Spirit is working in us to conform us to the image of Jesus.

Jesus reached out to the broken hearted, the marginalised, those who needed help, those who needed God.

David was considered a man after Gods heart and yet he got it so wrong at times.
But God loved him despite his failings.

I was just reading Matthew 17:27 Jesus says " For the Son of man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works "... Jesus is talking about when He returns, so what works is He talking about that we must do untill He returns...
Hi Rosemary,

Here's what Jesus said.

Matthew 7:21-23
Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from ME, you who practice lawlessness.’

So as we move out in the love of the Lord and are walking in the Spirit, we will be led to obey and do the will of our Heavenly Father. Those who said Lord, Lord were not obeying or doing the will of the Father.

When I read the word of God and there's a command to do something, my desire is to do it and I have the assurance I can accomplish what He wants me to do because we have everything we need for life and Godliness in Christ. And we have the Holy Spirit who leads us and guides us into truth. He speaks the words of Jesus which help to transform us into the likeness of our Savior.

And here's how we grow in knowing the will of God.

Romans 12:1-2
Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

So the more we read God's word the more our minds are renewed and transformed and as that process continues on for the rest of our life, we grow in the knowledge of what is the good acceptable and perfect will of God.

Rosemary, I love your gentleness, humility, compassion and love. Your love for God and love for others.
Our Father has saved you for a purpose and you have responded.
Firstly because you know he loves you and as a result he is using you to love others.

You have been set apart to do so.

Continue to let the love of God reign in your heart and let that love in your heart continue to walk with others.

God bless you precious sister.

I care very much about you. You are Jewish and so is my husband. I feel a tie to you in this.

I want you to look at something here. Perhaps we can discuss this by pm?

When one asked Jesus how he could work the works of God..Jesus replys...believe on the One God hath sent.

When we believe Gods words...we please Him. Only faith in our Father just as a child would be...who will always say something like...I know it's true because my dad said so. Obedience is always better than sacrifice...sacrifices only cover by blood. Faith purges for this is His promise...circumcision of flesh which purges the old man that we might be that new creation man of His very own body (His flesh, His bone) on earth.

He is calling for His army to rise! Rise up in Him.

Are you joking about the Christian science question?

Totally didn't get that from Bill.

It is evident that Jesus is talking about false prophets in Matt. 7:15. These are not born-again believers because "inwardly" they are wolves. Christians are NOT wolves. They have a new heart in Christ.

Matthew 7:15 (NASB)
[SUP]15 [/SUP] "Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.

Notice that in Matt 7:19-33..Jesus said in verse 21:

"I never knew you "...these people were not believers...

( Jesus never said " I used to know you once.". He said I NEVER knew you at all...).

Everyone when they see Jesus will call Him Lord.....because He is Lord and will be for eternity.

Jesus said that He "knows" His sheep so those in Matt. 7:19-33 are not true Christians.

John 10:14 (KJV)
[SUP]14[/SUP]I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

Notice that Jesus told these one that thought they were ok because of their "good works" that they were really lawless. Matt. 7:23

Jesus did the "will of God"...and delivered us from this present evil world

Galatians 1:4 (KJV)
[SUP]4[/SUP] Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

It is God in us that gives us the will and the ability to do His will.

Philippians 2:13 (NASB)
[SUP]13[/SUP] for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

The Will of the Father is to believe on Jesus.

John 6:39-40 (NASB)
[SUP]39 [/SUP] "This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day.[SUP]40 [/SUP] "For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day."

1 John 3:23-24 (NASB)

[SUP]23[/SUP] This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.

[SUP]24[/SUP] The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

The good works we do are from "being in Christ"..being led by the Holy Spirit. Notice God has prepared them for us. We walk them out as we live our lives dependent on Him. It is His fruit that bears in and through us.

Ephesians 2:8-10 (NASB)
[SUP]8[/SUP] For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

[SUP]9[/SUP] not as a result of works, so that no one may boast
.

[SUP]10[/SUP] For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
