That you deliberately sinned, so according to your take on Heb 10:26 your are toast.
Hebrews 10:26 says
"If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left"

I do not deliberately rebel against God, as you seem to think (for some unknown reason).

Well now you are changing the parameters from deliberate sin to rebelling against God - that's not what the text says.

Is sinning not rebelling against God?

Listen to the words I'm saying.
Why are you trying to entrap me in my words?

What I have been trying to say in this thread is very clear if only you kept up with it and didn't get too hung up on the thread title.

On the one hand you say you sin (deliberate) then you say "Is sinning not rebelling against God?" but then you claim you are not rebelling against God.

Don't you see the contradiction here and your misunderstanding of Heb 10:26 stripped out of it's context?

Belief in Jesus IS absolutely necessary for salvation.

However...

Hebrews 10:26
"Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins".

I have asked you this several times now:
Are you saying that Christians do not need to keep God's commandments?
I believe God calls us to remain faithful. In my understanding human belief or human faith is involved with spiritual persuasion or spiritual faith.

It isn't keeping the law that saves. It is by us putting our faith in the only hope for salvation. A free gift to all who will hear and believe.

In my view, one can fall away by choice. How does this happen? By suppressing the Spirit and the commandments or will of God. Sanctification isn't for salvation. It is God training us to be Holy. There are things in this world that can choke us, tempt us, and hurt our relationship with God. By following God's will, we keep a healthy relationship. By being disobedient or even lazy we can create a poor relationship. A poor relationship invites infidelity or God would even call His people a whore. And would constantly time and time again, call for His people to return.

But ultimately the Apostles and Jesus simply called for belief. If one was to turn or apostate then what hope do they have if they return and remain in unbelief?

People debate this as people have for centuries, people will disagree with me and that's okay, we all are at different points in our faith journey and God will lead those obediently searching for truth in the right direction, in His time. To me the most important part of salvation is the beginning. If you believe that Jesus Christ is your Savior and Lord then everything else can be ironed out in time.

Why?

I said I'm not DELIBERATELY rebelling against God, i.e. not DELIBERATELY sinning.

I agree wholeheartedly :)

So your sin is all un-deliberate? Is the some type of get out of jail card?

I'm not trying anything - you are the one that stated you had some special revelation from God on Heb 10:26 - I'm just trying to get you to explain it.

Yes, you are trying to entrap me in my words.

Here again, you're saying that I said something that in fact I didn't.

I did not say that I had a 'special revelation' from God.
Rather, I said that I let God be my guide when reading the Bible.
I said this in response to another user who appeared to allow his understanding of scripture to be determined by other's interpretations.

Of course my sin is not deliberate.
Even though we all make mistakes, I suspect the majority of Christians do not DELIBERATELY sin against God.

Do you deliberately sin against God?

Yes.
Did I say "special revelation", as you claimed I did in post 429 above.
No.
I said that the interpretation was given to me by God, i.e. I allow God to be my guide. I would hope that every Christian allows God to be their guide when reading the Bible.

So you're saying that Christians do not sin?

Jesus does not teach us that Christians do not sin, he tells us that our sins are forgiven.
Nope. Never made any such comment

you comprehension skills are lacking.

I thought a born agains sins are covered..by the death of Jesus...once we receive the Holy Spirit...doesn’t he lead us into all truth....also I believe God disciplines his children...if we deliberately sin...not sure though...I honestly thought through sanctification he changes us through the Holy Spirit who dwells in our spirit....

I also believe if you are truly born again...you want to please the Lord....because of what he did on the cross for us..

Just my thoughts...

Obviously there are some people who have commented on this thread who do not feel that Christians should keep God's commandments.

John 14:15
"If you love me, keep my commandments"

Ecclesiastes 12:13
"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man".

What we're dealing with here is lazy Christians, who say they follow Jesus and want salvation, but do not like the idea of having to keep his commandments.

Quote the lazy Christians who claim this.

I disagree...
I have seen through your post that you have called many of God`s children lazy Christians , yet they have been on here contending for our faith...

You seem quiet judgemental on your presumptions , we are warned about being presumptuous ...

You may also be seen as making false remarks by calling others lazy , that is wrong , how are they being lazy ?
