LOL Solid as a Rock that Moses struck twice in that parable .Out gushed the gospel the living water of his word . The father according to Isiah 53 struck the Son once.

Moses was obeying God who provided an answer to Israel to get water.
The water that came out of the rock was water, literally. How is this the gospel or the word?
I cannot go a read Gods work by looking at a bucket of water.......

Sounds like great experiences an real honor to be used as part of God moving in the affairs of men , working in us to both will and perform his good pleasure .The foundation of the imputed righteousness of Christ.

God has never stopped performing miracles all day, every day he keeps the earth from crashing into the Sun and controls erosion and corruption .He sends rain on believers in the same way as unbelievers. He heals indiscriminately . No signs. No need for one. His witness lives in us not of human hands .

He does not heal by human touch (Acts 17) as if he was served by human hand or by the hoofs of Asses like that of Balaam's to represent unbelief.

Even the Son of man, Jesus resisted being put into the Holy place of the father as the healer . It was walking by sight that caused the fall. God did not want them to experience unbelief .His glory departed

Why would we rely on that which did cause the faith of Christ as the glory of God to disappear . We would simply be repeating the matter .

The circus or side show is in respect those who refuse to hear or yet for all that they still believe in a signs and wonder gospel. They are the ones that promote the idea of sign gifts .or look at me now I have evidence of self edification.

No out ward signs for the believe. a new heart, yes. A heart that desire to bring new tongues, the gospel, yes..

Yes I understand most of what you post as from the Word. As for o signs, you need to study the matter a bit, for our Father does show each of us signs in the manner He knows we will understand them for eachwith faith has his own way to go in Jesus Christ.

He informed Moses if the first sign do not scare the pants off of the devil the second will move them scaring hell into them to let his people go. Putting his hand into his cloak it came out leprous;" no sensitivity to pain, dead as a door nail ." When he brought it to pass the Pharaoh lost his first born along with his supporters .

God was not about to give up his Son for the Pharaoh . Pharaoh fulfilled the law found in 1 Corinthians 14 . Prophecy for those who believe...……. signs for those who beleive not prophecy...……..... the one source of Christian faith

Thanks I am reminded I should of listened to those teachers. No surprise. I hated English and sentence diagramming put me to sleep. .

I can relate. There are lessons that I might have learned much earlier in life, that I have had to learn recently. It is humbling, but learning them later is still the better option.

Hi thanks I can offer. Many times as Christ was teaching them to walk by faith (40 years) they would confuse not trusting God, thirsting for the things seen .and God would send them a thirst for hearing the gospel the living water of the word as with the parable in view..

That portion like any is used as a parable to reveal he unseen spiritual meaning to the believer and conceal it symbolize from those who have no faith .

Living water as the signified language of God represents the living abiding work of the Spirit that indwells the believer. Its power is not of the believer... but mysteriously, supernaturally works in them to both will and empower us to finish the good work he began in us.

The parable it would seem would be multi facade like a diamond
The gospel message is hid .

Moses is used to represent the law of God.. as to the letter that kills. Rock, represents Christ. living water, represents the gospel that heals . Moses who represents the law that kills was to act as the father striking the Son once, not over and over exposing him to public shame as if one demonstration was not enough .as referenced in Isaiah 53. Moses was to strike the rock as the rod speaking to . He stuck it twice. Rather than use the rod of Aaron to speak once. A picture of the law of God not entering the new order, he struck it twice.

Remember the law of signs (1 Corinthians 14:22-23 0).Signs speak to the rebellious and confirm unbelief (no faith0 . Prophecy to those who believe. I am sure there was a mixture. Some more patient as work of the Spirit self control than others who did not belif in a God not seen . . the gospel came out.
