The water that Jesus spoke of in John 3:3-8 isn't for bathing, rather, it's
specifically for drinking.

John 4:10-14 . . Jesus answered and said unto her: If thou knewest the
gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee "Give me to drink" thou wouldest
have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

. . .The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the
well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? Art thou greater
than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself,
and his children, and his cattle?

. . . Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water
shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him
shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of
water springing up into everlasting life.

John 7:37-38 . . Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him
come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath
said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

. . . But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should
receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not
yet glorified.

Nobody was born again of the Holy Spirit until the day of Pentecost. It's unique to Christianity.
This is not correct according to Scripture = God's Word.
We're talking about two different things. I'm talking about being born again of the gift of the Holy Spirit, you're talking about resurrection.

It is part of me. Without it I would be dead. Same for you. Same for any Christian, for now.

That's correct.

People who are alive at the rapture will be changed.

The divine nature is the gift of the Holy Spirit.

In the NT, "sons of God" does not refer to angels, it refers to humans. That's what started all this.

CORRECT = Two different aspects of Truth
#1 Born Again by the Holy Spirit whereby our spirit comes Alive unto God = only our spirit and not our flesh = 1 John 3:1-3
#2 Resurrection, whereby our spirits receive their NEW INCORRUPTIBLE Body = made in His Image = 1 John 3:2
#3 No flesh will inherit the Resurrection = even those who are alive on earth at His Coming = 1 Cor ch15

If you are Born Again you never die = only your temporary flesh body dies = the real eternal you are inside your body.

In the OT and NT "sons of God" refers to spiritual beings that are a direct offspring of God.
They can be angels or they can be man who become "sons of God" thru the NEW Birth of the Spirit.
Humans, apart from Spiritual New Birth, will never become a "son of God".
Humans never refer to "sons of God" in the NT unless New Birth occurs by the Spirit of God = Jesus said this specifically.

You say a lot of things like this. Why don't you provide evidence? Who was born again before the day of Pentecost?

CORRECT = Two different aspects of Truth
#1 Born Again by the Holy Spirit whereby our spirit comes Alive unto God = only our spirit and not our flesh = 1 John 3:1-3

If you are Born Again you never die = only your temporary flesh body dies = the real eternal you are inside your body.
This is probably another topic, but without your body, you are dead. People do not live on after they die. They die, and will remain dead until the rapture or one of the upcoming resurrections.

In the OT and NT "sons of God" refers to spiritual beings that are a direct offspring of God.
In the OT, the phrase "sons of God" refers to angels.
In the NT, it refers to human beings who are born again. The exception is Luke 3:38. Adam is called the son of God, but he was not born again.

They can be angels or they can be man who become "sons of God" thru the NEW Birth of the Spirit.
Human beings become sons of God when they choose to believe the gospel.

Humans, apart from Spiritual New Birth, will never become a "son of God".
The new birth is what makes us sons of God. We are sons of God NOW (1 John 3:2).

Humans never refer to "sons of God" in the NT unless New Birth occurs by the Spirit of God = Jesus said this specifically.
I think you meant "'sons of God' never refers to humans in the NT unless New Birth occurs by the Spirit of God." If that is what you meant, then I agree. Since Christians are born again of the gift of the Holy Spirit, we are sons of God NOW, and we aren't angels.

Though we do not become exactly an angel in the New Birth(Born Again) we do become like the angels and even BETTER.

Jesus answered, “The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage. But those who are considered worthy to share in the age to come and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage. In fact, they can no longer die, because they are like the angels. And since they are sons of the resurrection, they are sons of God.

Were the sons of God angels or the sons of Seth in Genesis where the women had giant babies. I personally side with the story that angels slept with women.
the context of Gen 6 is men not angels

Sexual attraction is usually species-oriented. For example a female meerkat
is a hot chick to a male meerkat, but likely not so much to a male hyena.
The same goes for humans. Women are naturally attractive to men, but
likely not so much to angels. The two species are just too much unalike.

In point of fact, according to Matt 22:30, angels are asexual, i.e. the
chemistry isn't there. The angels aren't even interested in themselves let
alone women because they were created minus libido; just as I fully expect
to be resurrected minus libido.

Human reasoning may make sense but it is not the source of Truth.

Human reasoning is tainted by sin and cannot know the things of God, unless God reveals it to us.

The only source of Truth comes from God's Word and HE has made available to us His Truth partly in Creation and ALL in Christ.

We use the power of reason to assess truth.

Interesting though, that the first recorded miracle of Jesus in the gospel of John has Jesus
filling
six jugs used for ritual ceremonial cleansing with water so He could then miraculously
change the water into wine (which was then consumed)- since wine symbolizes His blood...

Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for
ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.
Jesus said to the servants,
“Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim.

We use the power of reason to assess truth.
That's ok for some things but it is also weak in the flesh.

God did give us the ability to reason and satan used that ability of reason to bring the whole world under the power of sin and death.

i rejoice in the Power of God = the Holy Spirit of Truth. He always speaks the Truth = No reason not to..............

the context of Gen 6 is men not angels
The Truth and context of Gen 6 is "sons of Gods came into the daughters of men"

OT clearly defines "sons of God" as angels = see Job chapters 1 , 2, 38

The LORD Jesus Christ confirmed this as well = Luke 20:34-36

The Holy Spirit confirmed that Gen 6 "sons of God" are angels again in Jude and in 2 Peter 2:4-5

The Holy Spirit again confirmed that Gen 6 are angels in Luke 3:38 by clearly stating only Adam was a son of God in Genesis.

Again, some translations erroneously use "angels" in Job, but the correct translation is "sons of God"... in all three passages.

Luke 20:34-36 says nothing about "sons of God".

Jude does not use the phrase "sons of God", nor does 2 Peter 2:4-5. Neither directly references Genesis 6.

Luke 3:38 says nothing about Adam being the only son of God; it merely states that Adam is the son of God. Don't add to the word of God!

Again, you spend more time arguing against the words of God then you do believing them.

And now you have stooped to lying = "Luke 20:34-36 says nothing about "sons of God""

Lying? You are way too quick to judge, which sadly does not surprise me in the least. Here is the text from the NIV:

Jesus replied, “The people of this age marry and are given in marriage. 35 But those who are considered worthy of taking part in the age to come and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, 36 and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God’s children, since they are children of the resurrection.

Yes, some translations use "sons of God" rather than "children of God". However, the text DOES NOT say that the sons of God ARE angels, which is what you claim. They are COMPARED with angels, not IDENTIFIED as angels. There is a massive difference, which apparently has escaped your grasp.

Read my post again, this time with your eyes open.

You're only extending your hypocrisy by trying to prove me wrong with the Greek (which you haven't), when you reject the Hebrew in Job.

no sir,

the phrase "sons of God referred to men, not angels, in this Hebrew passage in Genesis 6.
in the proper interpretation of scripture to must look above and below the verse, sentence, paragraph, chapter, book, and the whole bible.

Gen 6,

6 Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, 2 that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.

3 And the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever,

for he is indeed flesh;

yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”

4 There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God

came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

5 Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

6 And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.

7 So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.”

God is speaking of men who did evil, and now we're going to be judged NOT Because Angels assumed by some were having sex with women. That is not contextual in Gen 6. son of God is also a man. Just like the word El ohyim depending on how it is used in the text, can mean God Gen 1:1 In the Beginning 'ĕlōhîm = God, not an angel

However, in Psa 8:5 "For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, ( 'ĕlōhîm) and hast crowned him with glory and honour. "

Angels = 'ĕlōhîm same word, different means.

In Genesis 6: "son of God" means bene - men, not angels. We must place the meaning that best fits the context, not some fictional sci-fi narrative, because it sells books.

The idea Book Enoch supports this or Jude somehow speaks on this. I challenge you to show me where it is even suggested angel had sex in The Book of Enoch or Jude?

But what does Jude say?

For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

This is speaking of angels who rebelled against God, who is and was their Dwelling Place.

Jude says God dealt with man at Sodom as he did the angels. In Jude, he speaks of a battle over Mose, the spiritual warfare and judgment of God.

Jude address three major sins of man

Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain,
have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit,
and perished in the rebellion of Korah.

It is a disservice to the Word of God to interject a narrative that one has to assume and use Job, the book of Enoch, and one Chapter of Jude of one verse to establish what Genesis 6 doesn't say.

You can't use Job to interpret "son of God" in Genesis 6 when the context is not angels but men. You can, but it is not right.
