Must we obey the law if we are under grace not law?

James 2 for whoever shall keep the whole law yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all

Moses - cursed is the one who does not confirm and obey every word written

Paul gal 3. whoever puts themself under the law cursed, as it is written cursed is the one who does not obey every word.

You can repent until your blue in the face. It will not cause God to forgive you of any sin. The penalty of sin is death, Not repenting, Not doing works. Not trying real hard to be a good person. it is death.

Only death can redeem death. Stop mocking the cross by rejecting its meaning and purpose.

So you believe when we cling to Him, we change( from murder to lover) or as long as we cling to Him, murder is OK because salvation not by work but by faith?

I Believe we change - I do not believe we change ourselves. We are changed by the power of the Holy Spirit at work IN us, to will and to God’s good pleasure. That is not a work of the flesh (ourselves) least any man should boast. Murder is Only the outworking of a state of heart. It was wrong before ever the law existed. Cain killed Able and tried to cover it up. Why, because his heart was evil.

Yet God commanded killing later, Wiping out whole nations in fact! He gave this command to the same people He Gave the command ‘thou shalt not kill’. It is clear that law is only to stop us acting on our own evil desires, it does not rid us of them nor make us loathe them.

However the power of God conforming us into the image of His Son does that which through law is Totally impossible.

I was not answering the question of is the law evil, but as believers do we still follow it. Perhaps We fulfil the core of it now, by default - as a bi-product of the love we have in our hearts, but the existence of the law has no bearing on that fact.

The law Of God comprised of much more than the bare 10 commands, mere headers for the elaborate and lengthy explanation that follows through the other books of the law.

As Peter says in Acts 15, believers do not need to be given the law (A burden Not even they, nor their forefathers were able to carry) that was given to the Hebrews.

And as Paul explained we are dead to the law but alive to Christ. Those who focus on the law do well, it may lead them to see The depravity of their hearts and a desperate need for their own salvation.

But those who focus on, and entirely rely solely upon the character of God, will, I think, do Far better.

The law says an eye for an eye, the law says a tooth for a tooth. But love says We must forgive.

It is not that murder becomes ok, rather why would anyone led by Gods love have a desire to murder? That is an Irrational way of thinking.
