Rachel. So you're saying Jesus broke the Law and sinned? The Bible says that Jesus is without sin. I truly hope you see what you are teaching. If Jesus sinned WE HAVE NO SAVIOUR. But Jesus said "i have kept my Father's commandments"- john 15:10
"Which one of you convinceth me of sin?"- John 8:46
Rachel your Jesus is not the Jesus of the Bible. You preach a Jesus who sinned. I don't. So what Jesus really do? He taught them that acts of love and good and healing ARE LAWFUL on the Sabbath day! Jesus would in no wise yield to sin. He was claiming that healing on the Sabbath is in accordance with the Law! "And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day? -Luke 14:3"
"Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days"- matthew 12:12
This is what happens when you agree to some parts of Scripture and you ignore the other parts! You come up with conclusions that are not taught by Bible. Did you know that Isaiah prophesied of Christ magnifying the law?
He magnified the sixth law.
He magnified the seventh law.
Magnified the fourth law, when He removed the regulations and burdens of the Pharisees and re set the Sabbath according to its original purpose. To be for man, and not man for it! "Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath"!
"The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness’ sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable. -Isaiah 42:21"
Jesus does not teach to sin in any way shape or form. No sin can be allowed in heaven. Even the disregard of the least of these commandments costs you your salvation. Please truly think well. Do not come and just argue thinking you are defending God's cause. Do a real study on the ten commandments and see for yourself. Keeping sunday holy is pure pagan tradition, that DID catch up on the church of Christ. But paul already did say, that "the mystery of iniquity doth already work"!- 2 thessalonians 2:7! Paul saw the mystery of lawlesness and disobedience already working. Mind you, did you forget how many who thought they were doing miracles in Jesus' name, and casting out devils, meet at the day of God with disappointment? Why? What did Jesus tell them? He said "i never knew you, depart from me, ye that work iniquity[sin]".- matthew 7:23 jesus never knew them! Knowing Him is keeping His commandments! 1 john 2:4.
Please keep the Law of God, because only those that keep it will have a right to enter through the gates and eat of the tree of life. Rev 22:14. This is NOT the time to love sin above your Lord. The end of the world is coming upon us, and what makes you so sure that you will repent in the future? Was not the fate of Saul a fearful warning? How step by step he taught himself to disobey God, until he sealed his doom against God? Please. It's not the time to love sin! Jesus loves you and wants you to be saved! This is NOT the time to triffle with His mercy. I beg you stop. And turn back, and repent!
the bible says -flat out- that jesus broke the sabbath...
john 5:18..."For this reason therefore the Jews were seeking all the more to kill Him, because
He not only was breaking the Sabbath, but also was calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God."
you cannot use either of the following 'outs' to avoid this scripture...
you cannot claim that he only broke the sabbath traditions of the pharisees...because john doesn't write that...john plainly writes that jesus 'was breaking the sabbath'...
you also cannot claim that he was only accused of breaking the sabbath by the pharisees...because john doesn't write that either...john is not quoting the pharisees and he doesn't say they sought to kill him 'because they thought he was breaking the sabbath'...instead john is writing down holy spirit inspired narrative that plainly states that jesus 'was breaking the sabbath'
to claim anything other than that jesus broke the sabbath is to depart from the meaning of the text...
now i am not saying that jesus sinned when he broke the sabbath...in fact that is the entire point...when he broke the sabbath it was -not- a sin...
here is how jesus can break the sabbath without sinning...
matthew 12:5..."Or have you not read in the Law, that on the Sabbath
the priests in the temple break the Sabbath and are innocent?"
so a priest may break the sabbath to do God's work and still remain innocent of sin...
and guess what? the bible says that -all of us- are priests...
1 peter 2:9..."But you are a chosen race, a royal
priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy."
so we are -all- priests and therefore all of us can break the sabbath to do God's work and still be innocent of sin...just as the old testament priests did...
and when are we doing God's work?
1 corinthians 10:31..."Whether, then, you eat or drink or
whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
-everything- we do can be done to the glory of God...
when we work...we work to the glory of God...and so any work we do on the sabbath is done in service to God...therefore we may break the sabbath by working -without- being guilty of sin...
we are priests serving under what is basically a perpetual exemption from the sabbath law...we can break the sabbath to peform our priestly duty of work to the glory of God and yet be innocent of sin...
