Thanks so much for this post, EverlyGrace! 🙂
I can freely admit to being one of those dreaded "unintelligent" long posters.
My longest posts tend to come in the form of threads in the Singles forum, and this is because I usually introduce a topic by telling a story to hopefully make it more relatable to others. I've tried cutting out large chunks of my posts before but find that they tend to lose their "flavor" -- it's like making a recipe and leaving out several key ingredients -- but that's just my own style of writing.
I also choose to do most of my writing on a laptop, so the wider viewpoint makes me forget that even a few paragraphs will be much longer to scroll through on a phone.
I most certainly respect (and sometimes envy) those who can emote their thoughts while exercising extreme brevity.
I'm not offended at if/when people just pass by my posts because they're seen as being too long -- it's something we all do from time to time, and if reading long posts isn't your thing, no worries!
We have plenty of talented people here who excel at briefer postings that say everything that needs to be said -- I hope you (the original poster of the thread, Reformyourself, not the person I quoted, EverlyGrace) will find some of them whose work you admire and might even choose to follow.
P.S. Believe it or not, I went back and shaved 3 sentences off this post after I wrote it, just for you.
