Paul’s letters are the main doctrine for the body of Christ. In his letters the believer will learn how to live the crucified. We may agree to disagree. I’m alright with that.
yeah if someone wants to make paul the lord who offers salvation it’s thier choice but consider this last thing
Jesus taught this principle
“I tell you, Nay: but,
except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”
Luke 13:3
and said this of
the spirit and flesh but doesn’t really explain what it means
“That which is born of
the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of
the Spirit is spirit.”
John 3:6 KJV
“It is
the spirit that quickeneth;
the flesh profiteth nothing:
the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
John 6:63 KJV
Jesus has
established these things as truth , now
understanding it with revelation Paul wrote afterwards
“For
if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die:
but
if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.”
Romans 8:13 KJV
“This I say then,
Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall
not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the
flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
But
if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now
the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
( Paul’s message is the same regarding repentance and death and the spirit he’s talking about is the word of Christ )
But
the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And
they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
If we live in the Spirit,
let us also walk in the Spirit.”
Galatians 5:16-25 KJV
can you see how we need believe the gospel first for Paul to make any sense ? Or for Paul to even have anything to witness ?
notice “For
if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do
mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.”
Romans 8:13 KJV
And
“And
they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.”
and
“
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: for which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:”
Colossians 3:5-6 KJV
that is coming from here in the gospel which they believed and preached
“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me,
let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and
whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels;
and then he shall reward every man according to his works.”
Matthew 16:24-27 KJV
Jesus taught
this form of eternal judgement
“Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which
all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life;
and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.”
John 5:28-29 KJV
Paul taught it also pertaining to both Jew and gentile
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that
every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men;….”
2 Corinthians 5:10-11 KJV
“But after thy
hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
Who will
render to every man according to his deeds: to them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
but unto
them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
but glory, honour, and peace,
to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:”
Romans 2:5-10 KJV
Freedom from sin Jesus taught this truth regarding his doctrine. Which Paul’s doctrine really needs this understanding through and through
“Then said Jesus to those Jews which
believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
John 8:31-32, 34, 36 KJV
Paul taught it also to people who had
already heard and believed what Jesus the lord taught us in the gospel which all the apostles had preached to them remember it’s already been established so Paul Says it afterwards
“Know ye not, that
to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of
obedience unto righteousness?
But God be thanked, that
ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.”
Romans 6:15-18 KJV
Paul taught Jesus died for our sins and rose up Because it’s in the gospel
“Therefore doth my Father love me, because
I lay down my life, that I might take it again.”
John 10:17 KJV
“even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but
to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.”
Matthew 20:28 KJV
“for this is
my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”
Matthew 26:28 KJV
Paul and all the apostles taught about his death and resurrection which you know already
Paul’s doctrine comes from this place and never parts from Jesus words which established it
“
I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for
he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.”
John 16:12-14 KJV
As for rejecting Jesus words and going with Paul’s , paul felt this way
“If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words,
even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; he is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness:
from such withdraw thyself.”
1 Timothy 6:3-5
Same thing John thought
“Whosoever transgresseth, and
abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that
abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine,
receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:”
2 John 1:9-10 KJV
it’s foolish to reject the lords word and base everything on someone who is helping us understand it you should reconsider who can save you it’s not Paul
