37But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39And knew not until the flood came, and TOOK THEM all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
40Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be TAKEN , and the other left.
41Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be TAKEN, and the other left.
42Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

I would see in verse 39 that to be taken is a negative occurrence. All the ones taken in the flood perished / were judged . The ones that remained were saved .

So it looks like the ones taken in verses 40 and 41 are also TAKEN in judgment.
This looks like the time of the tribulation.
THE ONES THAT ARE TAKEN ARE DEAD< ON THE GROWN FOR THE BIRDS TO EAT,
Luke 17:34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two [men] in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
17:35 Two [women] shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
17:36 Two [men] shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
17:37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body [is], thither will the eagles be gathered together. THIS LETS US KNOW THAT THE ONES TAKEN ARE DEAD ON THE GROUND, FOR THE BIRDS, THE ONES TAKEN ARE ALWAYS THE LOST, JUST LIKE JU+ESUS SAYS WHEN HE COME THAT THE TEARS ARE GATHER FIRST, THE TEARS ARE THE LOST,

This passage applies to the Rapture and is addressed to Christians. The coming of Christ for His saints is IMMINENT. Hence the commandment to be constantly ready and to be constantly watching.

Just as during Noah's Flood eight souls were placed in the Ark to preserve them from the wrath of God, the Church will be placed in Heaven before the wrath of God is poured out upon the earth.

That is weak. Uppercase letters don't make it more logical. Jesus says nothing about dead people being eaten by birds. He is talking about how vultures circle in the sky and gather together when they have spotted a body on the ground.

That is all he said and all he means. "Where the body is there will the eagles/vultures be gathered together." is a reference to the gathering of vultures in the sky as imagery to answer their question "where Lord"

Now to interpret what he meant please first start with vultures circling in the air. If you skip that part altogether you have basically IGNORED Jesus answer and made up a NEW imagery of your own. You might believe it is true but it is bad hermeneutics to most scholars. Look it up in commentaries. There will probably be some that agree with you as commentaries will differ but those that explain the gathering in the air will have a better heremeneutic as to why they think that is what Jesus meant.

I agree with imminency. I just see this verse referring to Jews during the tribulation. He's speaking to Jews in a Jewish context reguarding the ' kingdom ' .( 1¶And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.)

13But he that shall ENDURE unto the end, the same shall be SAVED .
14And this GOSPEL of the KINGDOM shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and THEN shall the end come.

This is before there is a ' body ' of believers ( church). The context is Judgement, reguarding Noah .

16Then let them which be in JUDAEA flee into the mountains:

20But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the SABBATH day:
21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22And except those days should be shortened, there should NO FLESH be SAVED : but for the ELECTS sake those days shall be shortened.

That's your version of the gospel `146, I gave you the biblical definition of the gospel.
The bible definition of the gospel of the grace of God is found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, simple and straight forward.

John the same gospel that's preached today is the same gospel that was preached Abraham.

Gal_3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
Abraham did not know of Jesus Christ and his cross for sins. The verse plainly states that the good news given to Abraham was that all nations shall be blessed. That’s a gospel message. Gospel is just a word meaning glad tidings. It is not always connected with the d,b,r of Christ.

Gal_3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

13But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

22And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

How do those that hold to this being about the rapture reconcile these verses pertaining to the Church?

Having to endure to the end to be saved ?

" The gospel of the kingdom "
Is this the " gospel of Grace " ?

And are we hastening the Lords return by preaching this Gospel before he can return? ( assuming the gospel of the kingdom is the same as the gospel of grace ? )

How does the term ' elect ' refer to the Church.
And does this assume that the church has begun already ?

The birds circling in the sky as they all gather there in mass and we observe this site from the ground. It is an amazing sight in nature. We know why they are gathering. They have spotted a body on the ground. We don't see it. But we know it is there because of this site in the sky. The gathering of the saints rising up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air is where these are TAKEN to. They are TAKEN to be with HIM. They will literally be seen by those Left behind. They wont disappear from view until they have risen out of sight.

I think it is a misinterpretation to think that Jesus meant birds gathering on the ground on top of the dead body. He was talking about gathering in the sky first because there is a body. That gathering in the sky is the point of his cryptic statement.
"Where Lord?" They will be gathered together in the sky and meet the Lord in the air.

Comfort one another with these words. :)
It is a riddle.

Akin to the riddle about the name of the ac. Or the riddle Sampson placed in front of the philistines.
People see "birds/vultures" and carcasses thinking those items are real time components. So they go down a rabbit trail and end up at armageddon.
One taken/left is the rapture.

Let's examine the verses
See what THEY SAY.

41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come
44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

No brainer
It is the rapture

If you isolate just those verses out of the surrounding verses ,maybe . But there's problems with this interpretation . The flood ' took people away '

We don't endure to the end to be saved .

The church is not the ' elect'

And its taking about the gospel of the ' kingdom ' .
This is just a few examples .

... And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
...and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
..For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

Therefore people today think they can usher in the kingdom by reaching all nations with Paul’s gospel.
OTOH, others think it must be "hundreds (if not thousands) of years away" yet, since [to their thinking] it'll "take that long" to evangelize the entire world... and then there's the problem of new people being born every day, that takes that line even further out, daily... (lol)

[for the readers: Matt24:14(26:13) "this gospel of the kingdom" is in the context of the trib yrs (the "future, specific, limited [7-yr] time-period" leading UP TO the promised and prophesied earthly Millennial Kingdom, so all entirely FOLLOWING "our Rapture"), and is not speaking of what is taking place in the "NOW";) (compare the wording: Matt24:14 with Rev7:9,14... as just one passage showing its "results"--and note the TIMING element supplied there)]

...and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
See an example from Scripture [different context] of how the phrase "the four winds" (or, "from the four winds") is used elsewhere (and thus what it means):

"I will bring the four winds against Elam from the four corners of the heavens, and I will scatter them to all these winds. There will not be a nation to which Elam’s exiles will not go." - Jer49:36 [note: 'gathered FROM ' them, would be the opposite action]

[keeping in mind what Lk21:24 said about "Israel" referring to the events surrounding 70ad... "and they shall be led away captive INTO ALL THE NATIONS"... (i.e. "scattered" [elsewhere described as "sown [/sow]...in the earth," and in other places, their coming up out of the graveyard of nations is LIKENED UNTO a resurrection: Ezek37:12-14,20-23, Rom11:15[25-29], Hos5:14-6:3, Dan12:1-4,10, Isa26:15-21, etc (all re: Israel's "future")...Please see these passages])]

TREY ARE THE SURROUNDING VERSES.

Re read it.;

38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
