you know, I once quit the forum beause of 2 very nasty people who were saying things that were not only not true, but one said I had demons and did I like playing with them...
now you can't beat that. that person left and the other hardly posts anymore

I totally understood what you wrote and there was no reason for anyone to dismantle it
the scripture you posted is actually a negative portion if you understand it in context, but we still learn from what we have learned before so it is not correct to state we do not
I am asking you to just move past it...and do not take it personally or allow yourself to be bullied into withdrawing
I would not say everyone has something positive to offer, but I certainly believe that you do
a creative spirit can be easily injured...more so than others...which is something I understand...
consider your relationship with God...and just move on

I am not sure where you are now on this issue of God hating Esau and loving Jacob... and I do not presume to teach you anything... but this cursing of Jacob and Esau was proclaimed while they were yet in the womb, and identified as nations, rather than individuals, though as individuals, they also carry important lessons.
Esau's descendants became Edomites, also known as Idumaeans, and were enemies of Israel. King Herod was such.
In Obadiah, Edom is mentioned twice by name (1:1, 8), however, the focus is on Edom’s destruction as God meted out His judgment on a historically rebellious people. The Edomites would later disappear from history completely. In a longer view we can see this is what will happen at the final judgment at the end of this age, when those who refuse God are destroyed in the lake of fire.
Of interest to me as well is the fact that God said the older would serve the younger, and this is historically true also in the context of Israel serving Christianity, by bringing forth the long-awaited Messiah Who instituted a new and better covenant with the shedding of His righteous blood for the forgiveness of sins, something the law could not accomplish. I see the cursing of the fig tree as highly symbolic of the end of the unfruitful Temple sacrifice era.

The key as I see it concerning Esau being hated is found in the change of his name to Edom. But, that’s all I’ll say at this time. 😉.
One thing I’ve learned from Missler which soulweaver did bring out, is that truth will be found all through the scripture. One may see a different facet of symbolism than another but if it’s truth, it will be seen elsewhere. And it fits all together in unity.

so how does the Holy Spirit help us as our Teacher?
I firmly (that is to say unshakeably) believe that we must first learn what is written in it's proper context
that, would be called our foundation
after that, God will reveal more to us on a personal basis, that is according to our walk with Him and our ability to comprehend ...
but He will not go beyond what is written because I also believe He has set up safety zones for us, beyond which temptation
would beckon...much like the tree of the knowledge of good and evil
is that getting too esoteric? or too philisophical?
God's word is our anchor in all situations.

when someone wants to talk about learning from the word and wants others to chime in, they obvioulsy have a hunger and would like
us all to sit at the table
can you see the opposition to it?
