Have to disagree that earth today is the hell spoken of in Scripture. You might recall that Jesus defeated death and the grave with His resurrection. Earth is where all of Gods creations exist until the return of the Lion of Judah. God would never commit His people to hell while they are here working for the Kingdom and fulfilling the Great Commission.

Not what God intends for His people, and not what Jesus taught.
The tares are still here on earth. We are to not pluck up the tares. It can harm the wheat. wait till the harvest
love all, it is the love of God that wins and won.

Luke 16:22-23 . . It came to pass that the rich man died, and was buried.
And in Hades . . .

"Hades" is translated from the Greek word haides (hah'-dace) which, in the
ancient Hellenistic culture, was an afterlife facility where all the dead went--
the good dead as well as the bad dead --regardless of age, race, sex, gender
identity, political ideology, and/or religious preference. Jesus spent some
time in Hades prior to his crucified dead body's resurrection. (Acts 2:22-32)

* The Jews spent some time under the influence of Greek culture prior to the
Romans taking them over so it's no surprise they would pick up some of the
Grecian's afterlife terminology.

Hades is divided into sections to which the souls of the dead are assigned in
accordance with the quality of their past life's existence. The best section is
called Paradise (Luke 23:42) whereas the worst section is a deep abyss
called Tartarus. (2Pet 2:4)

Luke 16:23-25 . . The rich man looked up and saw Abraham far away. So
he called to him: Father Abraham, have pity on me. But Abraham replied:
Son, remember . . .

I should think that one of the negative aspects of perdition is memory. How
people in the afterlife retain their memories sans the brain cells they left
behind with their corpse, I don't know; but they do. Apparently God has
some sort of file transfer protocol that Silicon Valley has yet to discover.

The older one gets, the more memories they accumulate, and many of those
memories haunt us with terrible regret. However, people in Hell not only
have to cope with their bad memories, but also the good ones too, and I
should think it's remembering the good things they enjoyed in life that
makes their situation only worse in the heat. Smart folks deal with their
regrets by unifying with Christ as joint principals with him in his crucifixion
and resurrection per Rom 5:12-21 & Rom 6:3-11, but the dummies? No;
their past will always be an albatross hung around their neck.
_
‘thanks for sharing, interesting. So Glad once anyone truly turns to God in belief to God, God wipes out all past sin. One learns new as born again and stops unbeneficial stuff, over time in not getting it at first. God remains faithful, amazing grace. We, at least I grow in grace Hebrews 5:12 - 6 chapter 6:3, if God will permit. I see, God permits this to the serious ones only wanting to know Gods love and give that same love out, by God's lead, not mine Phil 3 and remain aware learn Matt 10:16-20

I don't particularly care for Jesus pictures, but were I to select one for
my man cave, it would be this. The look on his face is devastating.

I like the painting by Thomas Blackshear, called forgiven. And yeah on the Jesus pictures. No real true pictures.

Matt 10:28 . . Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill
the soul; but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in
Hell.

FAQ: If somebody is already dead, then how can Hell kill their body?

REPLY: The current Hell doesn't do that because for now when people die, their
bodies stay here rather than going there. But out ahead in the future; people
locked up in the current facility will be resurrected to face justice at the great
white throne event depicted at Rev 20:11-15. It is then when people's bodies
will be terminated by yet another Hell; and since there is but one resurrection
allotted per person (Dan 12:2, John 5:28-29) then nobody is ever coming back
from that place.

OBJECTION: The final Hell is depicted as a lake of fire (Rev 20:11-15). Sorry;
but it's impossible to liquefy flame

REPLY: According to Rev 20:10 and Rev 21:8, the lake consists of not only
fire; but also a substance called brimstone; which Webster's defines as
sulfur.

Sulfur melts at 232.36º F and boils at 832.28º F. If sulfur's temperature is
maintained in that range; it could easily suffice for an impoundment
consisting of both flame and liquid.

FAQ: What's to prevent the lake's fire from consuming the sulfur?

REPLY: The presence of fire doesn't always indicate combustion.

There exists a supernatural kind of fire that cannot be extinguished-- for
example the conflagration that incinerated Sodom and Gomorrah (Jude 1:7)
which apparently is a self sustaining source of ignition like the flames in
Moses' bush that didn't need fuel to keep them going (Ex 3:1-3)

In other words, eternal fire can be used for either heating or incineration.
For example the rich man depicted in Luke 16:19-31 is in fire but he's not on
fire, i.e. the source of his misery is heat rather than combustion, viz: he isn't
a human torch like a Hollywood stunt man. In point of fact, Hell is
sometimes described as an oven so that folks sent to the rich man's place
end up baking instead of burning. (Matt 13:41-50)

There was a time when everyone went to the netherworld when they passed
away: Jesus too because when he passed away on the cross; Jesus didn't go
up, rather, he went down. (Matt 12:40, John 20:17, Acts 7:25-31).

When we take into consideration everybody who ever lived and died on this
planet beginning with Adam until the day when people started going to
Heaven; then we're talking about a very large number of people. How did
they all fit in the netherworld without overcrowding?

Well; it's evident that people exist in the afterlife as disembodied spirits.
(Heb 12:22-23, 1Pet 3:18-20) and souls too (Matt 10:28). Those elements
of human existence are non physical, viz: they're basically pneumatic.

The feral man of Mark 5:1-13 and Luke 8:26-33 was possessed by a
community of evil spirits who labeled themselves Legion. Webster's defines a
legion as the principal unit of the Roman army comprising 3,000 to 6,000
foot soldiers with cavalry.

The legion of spirits that Christ exorcised from the man went out and
possessed a herd of about 2,000 swine. That's a pretty good example of how
spirits take up no room in the physical world; nor do they crowd each other.
All 3,000-6,000 of those spirits managed to fit inside the bodily cargo area of
just that one man.

That being the case, then the netherworld need not be a void. People can
exist down there in solid rock because non physical beings don't need space,
they just need a place.

NOTE: Any attempt to drill down to the heart of the Earth in search of the
netherworld would likely be futile because it isn't a physical world, rather,
it's a supernatural world. Drilling could, and would, pass right through the
very center of the netherworld and still not find it.

No wonder the flesh, physical can’t please God. It can’t all fit without crowding out others. This can only fit in God’s Spirit and Truth. So be dead to flesh, physically crowding out others in our thoughts of, you right and you wrong , I am made right, when only God Father of Son is the only one good. Who shares this with us the people spiritually.
reckon self dead to the first birth of flesh. For all flesh dies to become alive, in the risen Son< if one will believe this, leaving self-ishness behind. The new is now here, where, we do not worship God over there or over here on this place physically anymore. It is from within us, given us a new heart of original flesh, before the first Adam got unbelief to God and ate in unbelief.
‘time to now eat in belief, son accomplished the real need for us to get given the new life
wow, woe is me to see this truth in thanksgiving and praise

John 4:21-24

New International Version

21 “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
Amazing grace given from God through Son’s done work for us to stand in. That cannot be taken away, thanking Father and Son as Won

Can’t run out of room, in Spirit. Kind of like the internet, no traffic jams, just spirit blocks from evil, trying to stop anyone from enetering the rest God gives us in trust to God, no matter what troubles are going on in the present, past is gone, future not here yet. Oh wait a sec, yes it is, just takes less than a second To be past, before one can blink an eye.
no wonder Paul says. I put the past behind me and move forward to the high calling, wait a sec I just sinned again, in thought or deed, what do I now do with that?
‘move on, put it behind you, learn from it, in continued trust to God. Nothing can separate anyone from the love and mercy given us through Son, nothing, unless one does not believe God in nothing can separate you from his love to you, which includes acceptance, even though you have sinned and could again. Accepted, forgiven and sealed by God for you too.
wow, woe is me. Isaiah 6:1-7, Eph. 1:6,7,13

Went there to preach to the spirits there in prison, before he came here to save them, whoever believed him.
‘oh yes, and he needed a witness, while there. I bet that was Judas Iscariot? Precept upon precept. Line upon line.
‘as he said to John the Baptist, he must do all that is right. As John did not want to Baptize Jesus, John wanted to be Baptized by Jesus.
jesus had to fulfill the ‘law and Prophets first before he could Baptize anyone in Spirit and Truth, that is done in his resurrectio, for us to be Spirit Baptized too.

I often encounter rational people who have logically concluded that God has
set the bar too high, i.e. He's made it humanly impossible to attain the
kingdom of God; so what's the point of even trying. Actually I kind of
sympathize with them because the bar is set at 100% sinless perfection.
(Rom 3:23) Good luck measuring up to that!

And there are others who have decided that as bad as Hell might be, it
would be even worse to squander this life in self denial and quite possibly
end up going down there anyway. Those people have decided that it's
better to live a life of pleasure here and a life of no pleasure there, rather
than run the risk of having no pleasure either place. I have to agree: that
would be sad.

A third classification of folk are in a clash of wills with God. In other words:
they are so determined not to give in to His demands that they would rather
be cremated alive than fall in line. In their minds: giving in means God wins;
which for them is not only unacceptable; but thoroughly intolerable.

Those people are tough; just as tough as the anti-commie crowd who
proudly announce: Better dead than red, and/or the pro-gun people who
defiantly announce: If you want my guns; you'll have to pry them loose from
my cold, dead fingers.

I'm not saying it's bad to be anti-commie, nor bad to be pro-gun. I'm just
using those people's attitude to illustrate the bitter impasse going on
between God and those who would rather run wild in Hell than be slaves in
Heaven.

Then there are people who have chosen Hell over the kingdom of God
because they'll be more at home in Hell where they'll fit in; whereas in the
kingdom they'd never fit in. And like they say: birds of a feather flock together;
viz: some prefer the company of certain kinds of rather unsavory folk; and
people in the kingdom will be so heavenly minded that they'd be no fun at all.

In addition; people in Hell are free to speak their minds, and use all the
purple epithets, double entendres, colorful metaphors, thoughtless remarks,
and F-bombs that they want; but in the kingdom, people have to be careful
with their choice of words.

So you see; for some folk Hell is the better choice; and were they to end up
in the kingdom of God instead; I think they would actually be very disappointed.

* We really have to kind of envy people who've made Hell their choice rather
than their luck. At least they know where they're going when they pass on
and have mentally prepared themselves for the worst; whereas a large
percentage of the world's approximately 2.5 billion Christians, and
approximately 1.9 billion Muslims, haven't a clue where they're headed.
They're praying for the best while in the back of their minds dreading the
worst because for people giving it their best shot to deserve God's approval,
the kingdom of God is never in the bag.

FAQ: According to Col 1:19-20, God reconciled everything to Himself by
means of Christ’s blood on the cross-- all things in Heaven, and all things on
Earth. If that's so, then why are some people ending up in Hell?

REPLY: An RSVP can be roughly defined as response to an invitation; for
example there's a banquet depicted by Luke 14:16-23 where a number of
the invited guests made their excuses for not attending.

(Well, I have to give them credit for at least responding though their host
was very disappointed.)

The thing is: God reconciled us to Himself, viz: it's a done deal, but not
everyone among us has contacted God with an RSVP indicating their desire
to reconcile Him to themselves. In other words: reconciliation doesn't work
to people's advantage apart from diplomatic reciprocity, viz: God has
expressed His desire for peace and given His own son over to death as proof
of his willingness to bury the hatchet, so to speak.

2Cor 5:19-21 . . God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not
imputing their trespasses unto them; and has committed unto us the word
of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God
did beseech you by us, to wit: we pray you in Christ's stead: be reconciled to
God. For He has made him who knew no sin to be sin for us; that we might
be made the righteousness of God in him.

If perchance someone out there favors the idea of settling with God out of
court; here's a suggestion.

Find a quiet place; anywhere will do. Cover you face with your hands for a
sense of connection, and tell God-- under your breath or out loud if you like
--that you have never yet measured up to His standards and you're pretty
sure you never will. Tell Him you would like to take advantage of His son's
death as a means of bring you and He to the table as friends and allies
instead of strangers and foes.

According to 1Cor 1:26, not many great people are called. If that's true,
then we have to expect that the majority of the world's best and brightest
achievers-- the really big names in sports, science, medicine, law, politics,
technology, business, industry, religion, entertainment, and education, etc
--don't, and won't, make it to safety when they pass on.

As I watched some of the splendor and pomp of President Gerald Ford's
funeral back in January of 2007, I couldn't help but wonder if he was in a
position to really appreciate it; as I suspect people on the wrong side of the
netherworld would certainly no longer really care anymore whether they
were given an unknown pauper's disposal in a City incinerator, or reverently
placed in a grand tomb in the National Cemetery with world wide television
coverage.

I once heard a minister tell the story of a fictional busload of Hell's inmates
who were given a 30 day furlough for some R&R in Heaven. They all came
back the first night because God's world was such a bore.

There were no wild parties, no clothing-optional beaches, no bars, no night
clubs, no porn, no escort services, no pigging-out at buffets, no fights, no
profanity, no ribaldry, no free sex, no vulgar late-night comedy, no exotic
dancers, no X-rated movies, no junk food, no tobacco, no marijuana, no
meth, no ecstasy, no oxycontin, no fentanyl, no hunting for sport, no fishing
for sport, no casino gambling, no political activism, and no civil disobedience.

And the hellsters didn't particularly care for the isolation. None of the good
folk in Heaven wanted to associate with them: they were ostracized, they
were segregated, and they were quarantined.

Heaven is a pleasant utopia. It's etiquette, its dress code, and its rules of
conduct and civility; were way too constraining for the hellsters. Especially
suffocating is the mandatory self control everyone has to exercise in their
choice of words to avoid hurting people's feelings.

Take for example Wall Street barracudas. Do you really think they'd be
happy in Heaven? Or sweat shop operators? Or influence peddlers? Or
lobbyists? Or J walking pedestrians? Or LGBTQ? Or greedy capitalists? Or
unscrupulous social networking moguls? Or cheap politicians? Or
Communists? Or bookies? Or hoarders? Or black marketeers? Or militant
activists? Or Critical Race theorists? Or 1619 Project proponents? No. No.
No. You see many of the interests that concern Hell's people are
unacceptable in Heaven; and in point of fact, none of Heaven's people even
want to hear about that stuff. For them that scene is over and they don't
want it back.

You know what else is lacking in Heaven? Religious tolerance. There is only
one belief system up there. What's that tell you? Well; it tells me that the
establishment clause of the US Constitution's first amendment doesn't fly in
Heaven. The theocratic monarchy in Heaven insists upon dictating
everyone's religious preference.

All in all: Heaven's utopian society, coupled with its 24/7 Big Brother
oversight, universal surveillance, and strict morality, was just simply too
much to ask in exchange for some time off. To the hellsters on R&R; Heaven
was little more appealing than a get-away in one of North Korea's prison
camps.

As I was listening to a radio preacher talk about Hell many years ago;
something in my mind took over; and I had the strangest sensation of falling
off the earth into an abyss and nobody cared, nor did anybody miss me, nor
did my disappearance cause any alarm nor make any difference.

The freeways remained busy with frustrated drivers and honking horns,
people still got up to go to work, shoppers crowded the supermarkets and
department stores, kids caught their buses to school, birds kept right on
chirping, grass kept on growing, ocean waves went on rolling onto the
beach, trains kept running, airlines kept flying, clouds moved across the sky;
and all that.

My absence changed nothing nor disturbed anyone nor anything. The world
kept right on turning, clocks went on ticking; and nature and man went right
on with their business as usual without the slightest hiccup. At that moment
I realized just how alone and how obscure people must feel when they
exhale their final breath and cross over to the other side.

Back in March of 2015, Andrew Getty, an heir to J. Paul Getty's oil fortune,
died at the age of 47. In life, Andrew had many friends. You know how many
accompanied him on his journey across the river Styx? Not a one.

You gotta walk that lonesome valley,
You gotta walk it by yourself,
Nobody here can walk it for you,
You gotta walk it by yourself.

Here's a very interesting statement:

Phlp 2:10 . . At the name of Jesus every knee should bow— of things in
heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.

Now watch what's missing in this next statement:

Col 1:20 . . Having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to
reconcile all things unto Himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in
earth, or things in heaven.

The element missing is "things under the earth". In other words; according
to Col 1:20, God has no intention of reconciling with Hell; it's game over for
those folks. They crossed a line; and now there's no going back.

When God is ignored; people should expect Him to reciprocate.

Prv 1:24-33 . . I called you so often, but you didn't come. I reached out to
you, but you paid no attention. You ignored My advice and rejected the
correction I offered. So I will laugh when you are in trouble! I will mock you
when disaster overtakes you-- when calamity overcomes you like a storm,
when you are engulfed by trouble, and when anguish and distress
overwhelm you.

. . . I will not answer when they cry for help. Even though they anxiously
search for Me, they will not find Me. For they hated knowledge and chose not
to fear God. They rejected My advice and paid no attention when I corrected
them. That is why they must eat the bitter fruit of living their own way. They
must experience the full terror of the path they have chosen. For they are
simpletons who turn away from Me to death. They are fools, and their own
complacency will destroy them. But all who listen to me will live in peace
and safety, unafraid of harm.

Case in point is Jacob's brother.

"Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal. For you know that even
afterwards, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he
found no place for repentance, though he sought for it with tears." (Heb
12:16-17)

The Greek word translated repentance basically means to change one's
mind; viz: to reconsider.

Esau was an okay guy, but he was secular to the bone. He "got religion"
right quick when he saw his way of life costing him the blessing; but alas,
the poor slob was a day late and a dollar short; so to speak.

Lesson to be learned: The time for people to be thinking about Hell is not
when they get there, rather, before they get there because indifference in
this matter is lethal.

According to Luke 13:22-24, Matt 7:13-14, and Matt 22:14; the majority
won't make it, and hasn't been making it, to safety when they pass on to
the other side.

The world's current population, as of Aug 04, 2024 @ 09:12 am New York
time was estimated to be 8,064,303,707 souls. Giving them the benefit of
the doubt, and limiting the majority to 51% would indicate 4,112,794,891
of the world's current population is headed for the wrong side of the afterlife.

Let's say, for argument's sake, that the average case per Rev 20:11-15 will
take 30 minutes to complete. So: multiplying 4,112,794,891 by .5 hours,
then dividing the result by the number of hours in a day, and then dividing
the result by the number of days in a year; tells us it will take up to 234,748
