warned lol what are you talking about ? I’ve been warned by you that I need to reject Jesus and the gospel and dumb it down to a verse from one of Jesus servants and witnesses ?

that’s not a warning lol it’s a glass of poison
i
I never said what you are trying to put into my mouth. I am telling you you need to believe the gospel of Christ given to Paul the apostle. I am making this clear. Nothing is dumbed down here.

Earning a living by having a job or small business is not a sin...

Its normal and righteous.
We are supposed to do that.

We are Christians. We are supposed to not only provide for ourselves but have enough to take care of others as well.
That's our charge. Not dole out pretty words and well wishes to everyone...but provide real sustenance to a hungry world.

Playing the stock market is a game with money. It's not a bad thing. Playing options is another thing altogether...it's just about gambling.

But buying stock and holding them is investing. (Unless you enjoy sitting in front of a computer all day...then do some day trading)

Some people stayed awake in economics classes in college and high school...they learned this stuff and now can profit from it. It's not the end of the world or even a sin.

But as someone has already pointed out...the love of money is a sin.

It's those relationships that you have that create a full and rich life. Not the money in your bank account... even if you own the bank.

And I've learned that generosity attracts people... usually the wrong sort. If you have a lot of money, people flock around you wanting some of it. But what is it that they really like? You or your money? Shouldn't it matter that they like you for you and not the things you own or give away?

How would you separate the people who liked you from those who just like your "stuff"?

Do you think that God has the same problem?

johnDB --gets it Folks -------that is exactly God intends for us --------Many have been brainwashed by the main stream churches who teach Christians should be in Poverty -by Cherry Picking the scripture that suits their need to teach poverty -----and that goes against what the Scripture REALLY SAYS -----

I say -----People use the Scripture where Jesus is speaking to the Rich young man who wants to know what he has to do to get into heaven -----and Jesus says ----it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of the needle than a rich man to get into heaven ------Mark 10

and this scripture is used as well ------The Son of Man has no where to lay His head -----Matthew 8

We all need to ready and take in this Scripture below ------and do proper research to get what the meaning of the Scripture is really saying -----read it in Context and do the proper research ------

Proverbs 4:7 AMP B
7
“The beginning of wisdom is: Get [skillful and godly] wisdom [it is preeminent]!
And with all your acquiring, get understanding [actively seek spiritual discernment, mature comprehension, and logical interpretation].

I say -----There are many scriptures that say God came so we could live life to the full till it overflows -----and this overflow is to bless others with what GOD HAS BLESSED US WITH -------

We own Nothing Folks ----everything we have belongs to God --not us

I have a rich life full of good relationships with others especially God.
That's what matters most to me. Money, and the things it buys, is nice...but my lifestyle is well below my means.

I also don't peddle the word of God for profit...
I also don't worship the messengers of the Gospel. (It's an easy mistake to make too)
Slowly, over the decades, I am carving out a legacy with those relationships by inspiring them to live differently...which then affects others with a butterfly effect.

But God wants you to be rich in understanding --trusting and acting out the the Gospel not just knowing the Gospel -----The Gospel talks a lot about His Blessings and Blessing His Children so they can be a Blessing to others ------Giving is a big part of the Gospel ------

You can be rich in knowing the Gospel but poor in believing the truth of the Gospel and trusting and executing the Gospel -----The Gospel includes giving financially and Spiritually to others ---so you need to be rich Spiritually and materially to be active in giving to others ------

If you just have enough money to live on yourself then you cannot be rich in your giving to bless others -----all your doing is blessing yourself and that is not pleasing to God ------

For instance ----this scripture is just one scripture and believe me there are many more scripture on giving to others and God giving us the means to do so -------

it sounds to me like your one of the ones who have been brainwashed by people preaching that Christians should be content with just enough to live on themselves and to heck with everyone else ---when the Scriptures teach abundant living comes from God so you can Bless others -----

2 Corinthians 9:8-11 AMP B

8 And God is able to make all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to you, so that you may always [under all circumstances, regardless of the need] have complete sufficiency in everything [being completely self-sufficient in Him], and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity.

9 As it is written and forever remains written,
“He [the benevolent and generous person] scattered abroad, he gave to the poor,
His righteousness endures forever!”

10 Now He who provides seed for the sower and bread for food will provide and multiply your seed for sowing [that is, your resources] and increase the harvest of your righteousness [which shows itself in active goodness, kindness, and love].

11 You will be enriched in every way so that you may be generous, and this [generosity, administered] through us is producing thanksgiving to God [from those who benefit].

There is not one verse in any of Paul's epistles telling us to become a Christian.
The epistles of Paul were written to Christians, so why would be tell Christians to become Christians?

The title of this thread is misleading. If it is about the riches which are in Christ, then every Christian is already rich. For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. (2 Cor 8:9)

At the same time money -- cash -- is not evil. It is the love of money (covetousness) which is the root of all evil. But money is neutral, and large sums of money can mean large investments in the Kingdom of God and in the propagation of the Gospel (while reaching out to those who are genuinely needy, particularly persecuted Christians). There are huge needs all around the world.

I never said what you are trying to put into my mouth. I am telling you you need to believe the gospel of Christ given to Paul the apostle. I am making this clear. Nothing is dumbed down here.
yeah Paul preached the same gospel because there’s only one he was one of Jesus 12 CHosen witnesses to do this

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

All Nations means all People gentile and Jew

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭

every creature includes gentile and Jew
paul Is one of Jesus witnesses to accomplish that tomoresch the only gospel to everyone both Jew and gentile first to the Jew then to the gentile

First to the Jew

“And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening. And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

then to the gentile

…And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭28:23-24, 30-31‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There’s just one gospel when we insist on another dofferent one like you do it’s not an accusation it’s an observation

Paul is one of twelve apostles of Jesus Christ a servant and witness of Jesus to witness the one gospel to all people. There is no other gospel there’s this

“Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

that’s the gospel Jesus “ gave Paul “ as well as the rest of what we learn in the gospel Jesus does for our sins and rose from the dead all Of Them preached that Because it’s an element of the gospel we have to believe

you somehow think oaul Is the only person to preach that Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead ? Isn’t that the secret gospel that only Paul knew that you claim is the real gospel ?

I observe that you always claim that what Paul writes somehow erases everything else it doesn’t he’s just a witness of Jesus witnessing the one gospel

The richest people on planet, hmmm. I have often been tempted to buy a lotto ticket.
I have often prayed for money, in my early years of been saved.
I had not yet learned to secret of been content whatever the situation was.

Php_4:11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

To become rich and have very little money is a blessing in disguise.

And it can only come from God who richly gives us all things to enjoy.

The apostle Paul made many people rich when he preached the gospel on his journeys.

2Co_6:10 As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

God is rich in mercy.

Eph_2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

Christ died for our sins. That is the gospel.

1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1Co 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

That is what Paul preached to make many rich.

Money has nothing to do with happiness or having peace with God.

What you do with the gospel is monumental towards where you will spend eternity when you die, or if Christ comes when you are alive.
If you are alive when He comes it wll not be a good place to be if you have not believed or obeyed the gospel of Christ.

2Th 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
2Th 1:9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
I say
This is your Opening post ---you say nothing about believing the Gospel --trusting the Gospel --or acting on the Gospel -----all you do is quote scripture =

And you say this ----to have little money is a blessing ----which goes against scripture --then you contradict that statement by saying the God richly gives us ALL THINGS to ENJOY -----then you say Paul made people rich when he PREACHED the gospel on his journey ----nothing about receiving the Gospel or believing the Gospel here either ---

I say ----------So no one is twisting your words ----these are your very words ---

To become rich and have very little money is a blessing in disguise.

And it can only come from God who richly gives us all things to enjoy.

The apostle Paul made many people rich when he preached the gospel on his journeys.
