But every Christian actually cannot keep all Jesus's teachings 100 percent.. although this is what we strive for.

So it comes back to Jesus saving us aside from keeping to a set of commands.

So we are saved through belief in Jesus as I typed, aside from works.

Following all of Jesus' teachings is only possible having previously been delivered from the righteous requirements of the law.

So it comes back to eternal salvation thru simple belief in Jesus as God who can save eternally forgiving sin.

Works after are the reasonable response.. not the means of getting eternal life. You can't earn eternal life.. that I'd not possible.
It is the main part of the teachings of Christ that we only need to WANT to keep all Christ tells us to keep, and repent when we miss the mark. That is why God gave us Christ.

Christ came be cause it is impossible for us to be perfect, our work towards perfection does not count. Repentance counts.

Believing in Jesus is a product of already having been born of the Spirit. The unregeneraste atheist does not believe in Jesus. (1 Cor 2:14).

Repentance can deliver us as we sojourn here in this world, but it cannot deliver us eternally

Amen! Either we are trusting 100% in Jesus Christ as the ALL-SUFFICIENT means of our salvation or else we are 100% lost.
The problem with that is what is believed about trusting Jesus. If we trust Jesus to save regardless of our sinning without repentance, then that is not truly trusting Jesus. People who love and practice their sin are not saved.

Hebrews 10:26
For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.
You ask about getting into heaven and your first response to someone afterwards is about judgment and fiery indignation. Typical graceless swine straining out a gnat.

We will only overcome error with grace. A gentle answer turns away wrath. We entreat with all meekness persuading men of the truth and goodness of God considering our own former ignorant estate.

I know you’re correct but the person just joined this site and that’s the nonsense they’re pushing with every thread they start. They’re on a mission and sometimes you need to meet fire with fire.

David, as king, was punished by God, for numbering Israel. I would be careful about determining who is saved and who is not.

Those who trust in Jesus Christ for salvation have already repented in the process of changing their mind and choosing to trust in Jesus Christ for salvation. Acts 20:21 - testifying both to Jews and to Greeks of repentance toward God and of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Children of God practice righteousness and not sin. 1 John 3:9 - No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother.

Why am I not surprised?
I only wrote what I did because I thought you would appreciate the reminder. I am personally thankful for those in my life who will tell me I have some mustard in my mustache rather than let me walk around all day in that estate.
It was in this vein I shared.

I had forgotten this verse, thanks for your post. But we are told that if anyone says they do not sin they lie.

We must understand both these scriptures are truth. I think the key to 1 John 3:5 is that they do not PRACTICE sin, do not go on sinning. We all need to repent and ask Christ to forgive us, even of sins we are not aware of.

So then, are you implying that you do not sin?

Since no one is without sin, Jesus is the only way by belief and faith, confession of belief, repentance, and baptism. That's the scriptural formula for salvation and the only way to heaven.
