easy ride?
the easy ride is religion and following rules and regulations. Because you can see your own progress. and if you start to fall short. Just change a few things, or find a less strenuous legalistic church. You can then sin all you want.
Faith is based on things not seen. Not things seen. SO faith is the hardest ride you will ever take..

It has been my observation that those who choose to 'reject' their salvation do so based on lies.
Lies that they are told about Who God is; about His character; about the realities of Christ and His Work; about what will happen if they don't do thus-and-so; lies about what will happen if they DO do thus-and-so. Lies about Grace and Law. Lies that turn believers into neurotic, unstable messes who are exhausted in their insecurity and simply say, 'enough'.
It is my opinion that folks who 'reject' their salvation do so because of lies they've believed about that salvation and about God. But it's not the real salvation or the Real God they've rejected - they reject the counterfeits of God and His salvation that LIES have convinced them of.
If my husband came to me and told me he had heard this that and the other about me and wanted a divorce, I would not consent, because his decision would be based on lies. I would do everything I could do to show him what was true.
The Enemy, once someone comes to Christ, knows that that person is out of his reach. His goal from that point is to make that believer UNFRUITFUL, so that they cannot bring others into a saving relationship with God. So he lies, lies, lies about the salvation they have and about the steadfast faithfulness and goodness of God. If the Enemy cannot steal them away from God, neutralizing them is the next best thing in his book.
God, on the other hand, in His Word and through His Body, proclaims Truth. He proclaims the Truth of His love, mercy, grace, and faithfulness in Christ. The Scriptures tell us that when we believe in Christ, He comes to live in us. And He cannot deny Himself.

This post made me think about what I had posted in the past about this very thing.
I believe a lot of sincere believers have left the church ( not Jesus ) because they could not live this religious Christian life that was being preached to them. They loved Jesus but they didn't want to be a hypocrite so they backed away from the organized church.
Then there is the group that struggled with a certain sin and was never taught about grace properly and so they left because they were defeated. Constantly feeling condemned and guilty and full of shame. The legalists keep preaching at them to change!
These people never left Jesus in their heart - just the hypocrisy that the religion of "christianity" can produce.
The only change that is effective is from the life of Jesus in us and that only comes with the message of the gospel of the grace of Christ.

In Hebrews 10:26, to "sin willfully" in the Greek carries the idea of deliberate intention that is habitual, which stems from rejecting Christ deliberately. This is CONTINUOUS ACTION - A MATTER OF PRACTICE. Now we don't walk along our daily life and accidentally fall into a pit called sin. We exercise our will but, the use of the participle clearly shows a CONTINUOUS ACTION.
The unrighteous practice sin - (1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Galatians 5:19-21) not the righteous, who are born of God - (1 Corinthians 6:11; 1 John 3:9).
In verse 39, the writer of Hebrews sets up the contrast that makes it clear to me that he was referring to unbelievers, not saved people: But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.
Those who draw back to perdition do not believe to the saving of the soul and those who believe to the saving of the soul do not draw back to perdition.

The problem is you have to take that first step of repentance. A step most people will never take.

I have always said, If we saw ourselves through the eyes of God, we would be horrified at what we say, All the sin and filthiness we carry every day.
Its no wonder daniel, and john and others fell on their faces in fear. When you see perfection, and realise how imperfect you are. it tends to cause that in a person.
I wonder if that is one of the things which turned paul from a proud pharisee of pharisees to a humble servant of Christ. (he did get to see a vision)

Good post, and so very true.
It has always amazed me, from my time being here, how those who hammer people so hard by telling them they cannot have any sin in their lives or they will lose their salvation, or were probably never saved to begin with, never acknowledge the fact that they themselves still sin - every single day.
They know it. They simply won't admit it. They are the living embodiment of the Pharisees.
And when confronted with that fact, they either scurry away or double down and ignore the fact they are colossal hypocrites.
Being willfully blind is a terrible thing.
