My bible just says giants. I'd never heard of nephilim as the word commonly used before. When people talk about Nephilim they seem to regard them as not even human...? Or is this what Jude refers to as 'brute beasts'

How do the sethites explain the giant size of the offspring? Or if it was not their offspring, the presence of giants. Why arent there still giants today? If they actually are the offspring of unequal yoking, why arent we seeing more giants. If that is the case why arent all unbelievers giants.

I dont quite understand...because in the Bible giants did refer to physical stature not just being mighty or famous. Right?
the word giant in the Hebrew is also a mighty man of war

how do you explain giant size offspring? the same way you explain 6 toes and 6 fingers or no toes and and fingers called birth defect lol you heard of Andrea the giant ? he had a very common disease known as Gigantia which is and can be treated if caught early my uncle was born with it,

There are many Christians who refuse to believe that the *sons of God* (AS CONTRASTED WITH) *the daughters of men* were evil angels which crossed the boundary between men and angels, and had sexual relations with women.

But that is exactly what the Bible reveals. These angels are called *the angels which kept not their first estate* (Jude) and *the angels that sinned* (Peter), therefore they are imprisoned in Tartarus, and held down with *chains* in darkness, until their final judgment (which is to be cast into the Lake of Fire with the Devil).

The question must be honestly asked as to why a certain group of angels is in prison, whereas evil angels, demons, and Satan are free to roam the earth and influence human beings.

It should not therefore be surprising that their offspring were giants and men of renown, who also corrupted the human race and ultimately brought about the Flood. The Hebrew word translated as *giants* in the KJV (and γίγαντες (gigantes) in the Septuagint) is nephilim, which literally means *fellers*, and therefore tyrants and bullies. There are legends in the mythologies of the world which allude to giants and men of renown, or *gods and heroes*, and all those stories have their origin here. The Book of Enoch (which is regarded as pseudepigraphical) provides considerable detail.

It is disingenuous to claim that *sons of God* represents the line of Seth, while *daughters of men* represents the line of Cain. That is purely an imaginary invention by those who cannot stand the idea that angels can and do take human form, and can function as human males. BTW angels are all invariably masculine, not feminine, as depicted in many pictures. And when they have visited men, they have often appeared as just men.
Hmm I’ve read a write up that translates giant tad dif.

There were giants in the earth] נפלים Nephalim[Nephilim], from נפל naphal, “he fell.” Those who had apostatized or fallen from the true religion. The Septuagint translate the original word by γιγαντες [gigantes], which literally signifies earth-born.

But you dont often see giants that are 15 feet tall, around these days at least I dont. Shouldnt there be more of them if its sons of God (believers) are taking wives of (daughters of men) unbelievers.
Which is kind of strange because hear more about women believers who marry men who are unbelievers. They have children, but their so-called husbands often just abandon them. I dont really hear of the other way around youd think they would know better?!

Both of those views are bogus. The Bible (including Jude & Peter) doesn't reveal that angels knocked up women. And the lines of both Seth & Cain are purely flesh, not spirit.
The sons of God are saved men. The daughters of men are unsaved women. Nothing more.
So....saved men had sex with lost women and the result ->>Giants

Brilliant!

Just listen to yourself. When the angels fell and became demons they are still spirits. Why would scripture still refer to them as sons of God. When they rebelled, they gave up that identity. Flesh and spirits can't mix. Besides, God wouldn't let them. They must still operate within the boundaries set by God.
Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord , and Satan also came among them. The Lord said to Satan, "From where do you come?" Then Satan answered the Lord and said, "From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it."

No. The result was children.

Those children had yet to be raised and grow up. Then they became mighty men and men of renown. The text doesn't say that their parents' sex union was the cause of them becoming "mighty men which were of old, men of renown".

The giants already existed.

we don't see woolly mammoths either. many times when reading the book of Beginnings i.e. Genesis, we are not taking into consideration Moses is providing names and terms for man at the what is really not much time removed from the creation of man. Sons of god “Elohim” has more then one application the word can mean God, angel and man it depends on the context in which it is used. In Genesis 6 sons of god as angels does not fit contextual. Nor does the context of sons of God mean = God . So what does it mean in gen 6? If you are taking only one verse of chapter 6 in Genesis and building from that , instead of reading the full chapter that is error. Most who hold to the idea of angels having relations with women try to use Job account of “ sons of God “ in genesis 6. They are not even contextually the same. If one reads Genesis 6, and see how sons of god meaning men is contextually sound. Then add “angel” to it and take out “man”; genesis 6 now make absolutely no sense and takes away from the main context MAN sinned against God. And Judgement came. Jesus in Matthew when speaking of the days of Noah prior to his coming did not even speak of angels in context to Noah’s day but he did say marrying and giving in marriage which is what was happening in GEN the sons of God took for themselves the daughters of men. To what? To marry.

Well ladies and gentlemen, it appears that there is a distinguished group who were in fact men who were set upon destroying something they recognized as other than men:

At a minimum, the following are mentioned as engaged in EXTERMINATING the "giants":
-Moses
-Joshua
-Caleb
-Chederloamer
-Esau
-Ammmonites
-David and his men

It appears that the text differentiates between "men" of great size and the "sons of Anak".

Number 13:30–33
Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, “We should by all means go up and take possession of it, for we will surely overcome it.” But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are too strong for us.” So they gave out to the sons of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we have gone, in spying it out, is a land that devours its inhabitants; and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great size. There also we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak are part of the Nephilim); and we became like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”

I absolutely disagree. I think the CONTEXT is utterly and devastatingly clear:
-Sons of God vs daughters of men
-all flesh had corrupted itself on the earth
-Noah's seed was uncorrupted
-God destroys all men and all flesh upon the earth other than Noah and his family
and the specific animals God brings into the Ark (all assumed to be uncorrupted)

It doesn't get any more clear than that.

BTW, Esau married two Hittites. Evidently not enough to end the world or even the line of Edom.

Yes. Genesis 6:12-13 is clear on that.

"And God looked upon the earth and saw that it was corrupt; for all living creatures [flesh] on the earth had corrupted their ways.
Then God said to Noah, “The end of all living creatures [flesh] has come before Me, because through them the earth is full of violence. Now behold, I will destroy both them and the earth."

[that seems to somehow not be "enough", for some]

That is your opinion. Maybe you should do a study on what is an “application “concerning scriptures then get back to me.

...and Genesis 6:5 [bsb] -

"Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great upon the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was altogether evil all the time."

Indeed. There were some terrible and bizarre goings-on pre flood the likes of which are not seen today.....yet. But as the tinkering/defiling with DNA and scientific "progress" accelerates, we will be smack dab in the middle of the NT Days of Noah.

Did the sons of God run out of daughters of God to marry.
I dont quite understand.

Why did Jesus say he was the son of Man, even when others knew him to be the son of God?
