Not one person here doesn't believe they are sharing the truth. And yet none of us is in fellowship with the other. That ought to bother us. We all read the same Bible and pray to the same God (mostly) and yet we cannot speak to one another without screaming and we have no fellowship, nil. I'm wondering why anyone would come in here and think "ya, that's what I'd like to do this weekend, go spend my Sunday with these people". smh

LOL!

no

would much rather go to church and pray and as Paul said...no nothing but Christ in them

the only solution to addressing issues in church without causing WWIII is prayer

I have fellowshipped with all kinds of people and being in leadership, (well you know this) people come up to you and drop stories that just when you think you have heard it all, you find out you haven't

like the man who told me his wife was next in line to be a chief druid but she got saved instead

I said 'oh that's good' I mean come on!

I have actually learned alot in these forums

I don't hate anyone, but some of the attacks have spiritual omph behind them

I don't know. I can't just love on people who basically believe and teach absolute nonsense or worse, heretical cultic beliefs

does that mean I hate them? no it does not, but I cannot calculate the harm that does

shaming folks into doing what their conscience tells them not to do, does not work and in the end only causes resentment

“Your faith has saved you.” There are many examples of Jesus saying this to people. He also told them to sin no more, but that was not an “or else” ultimatum, it was a directive to glorify God for the free gift they received. That’s my two cents.
44 Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.
45 You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet.
46 You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet.
47 Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven--for she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little."
48 Then Jesus said to her, "Your sins are forgiven."
49 The other guests began to say among themselves, "Who is this who even forgives sins?"
50 Jesus said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace."
Luke 7

Read the above passage. The woman who loved Jesus, washed His feet with her tears and wiped they with
her hair. This is working faith, love in action, love from her heart to her Lord.

She is talked about being saved, entering into the Kingdom. She loved much and showed it.
Now such love will not fade, she is a good tree that has drunk deeply into the grace of Jesus.

It does not mean she could not kill her love, but most likely love like this will last till she dies and goes
to be with Him.

Now what some are putting forward is passive faith, a faith with no fruit or outworking and still they
claim they know Jesus, and worse if this faith dies, they are still in Christ.

If you know Jesus He is after fruit that will last.

16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit--fruit that will last.
Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name
John 15

If you truly know what you believe and are confident in it you should be able to attend any church and fellowship with any believer. As I said, I traveled in all denominations and fellowshipped with all people. One night after the service two nuns came up to my sister and I. I thought "here we go"... But we talked so long and agreed on so much, lovely people. Do I agree with the Catholics? I do on some things. Did they agree with me? On some things. And we had fellowship. The rest we leave to God to sort out. I saw a joke somewhere where saint Peter was guiding a group of people past the pearly gates with his finger to his lips. He says "shhhh the Baptists don't know you're here!!" As an old well know Gospel singer once said, "the older I get,the more people I'm letting into heaven." No offense, I'm just glad y'all aren't the one saying who gets in.

whatever happened to the faith delivered once for all?

if truth is a value that changes from person to person, church to church, then it is not truth at all

Beloved, using all diligence to write to you concerning our common salvation, I had necessity to write to you, exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith having been delivered once for all to the saints. Jude 1:3

I'm not posting a scripture to prove something

people here are adamant that the Bible is true and 'God's word' and there cannot be, simply cannot be, 101 interpretations

Jude writes of 'common salvation' well sorry to say, we have some very unorthodox and uncommon attempts at explaining salvation

Jude says he had necessity to write what he did. the NT church came under persecution and demonic attack almost immediately and it is still going on today

check out what scripture has to say about deception, doctrines of demons and so on

maybe try to believe it and understand the entire world without Christ is laboring under it and sadly and to the detriment of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the world has infiltrated the church to the point that we see truth attacked and lies believed

don't take my word for it though. it's all out there. but who is going to bother themself with all that detail?

well actually people who love the truth will

deception is about the worst possible condition to be living in and one of the hardest things to overcome

overcomers will see Christ face to face. I am not looking for rewards and I do nothing for rewards

and God knows this

no offence at all

I basically agree with what you write and people who have been in many churches and experienced more will often have a more
lenient position towards people..you and I believe basically the same

remember the threads on tongues and how heated they get. both of us have got pretty heated in those threads

that is not a salvation issue although it does great harm to mock and call people demonic

I feel the same way about salvation. only that is a life and death matter

You used the term “working faith” with regards to the saved woman. I respectfully disagree completely.

It was faith, not working faith. She came to believe before being with Jesus. Jesus did not tell her she was saved because she did “works” at that moment, Jesus told her she was saved because of the magnitude of love, repentance and faith in her heart. But I thank you for your shared response.

well they teach it by either ignoring it or listening to it

having been in the middle of the behind the curtains goings on, you sometimes find it hard to believe these people have anything but themselves in mind

I could tell a story about a woman who wormed her way into the position of secretary and then basically took over and ordered people around by saying the pastor told me to tell you...staight spiritual witchcraft

in the end she had a nervous breakdown. pastor asked me take over the morning worship...I was doing evenings, but I passed

he was a new pastor and gullible and was taken advantage of

stories. I gotz lotz of em. sigh
oh I know.

It was one of my main discussing point with peter jenz, He reminded me so much of myself and how I was programed to respond to certain people and the same message.

I had to be broken (still have to be broken, I am not there yet. By any means? But we have to be wary of the ways of the deceiver.. He is crafty.

well that is what that person teaches

and that is what the uproar is about

that, and the personal attacks and then the posts that follow that with

'no one loves God like I do and I am praising and blah blah blah.

that is not real

well

it was a fight club all around as I recall

anyway......those threads never ever solve a thing

having not grown up in Pentecostal or Charismatic circles, I can see the other side

but it did not end there for me. I am well aware of the abuses and have actually been pretty hurt because of them

there are things I will no longer allow in my life because it took a long time for me to undo the harm, without God I think I would
have just called Christianity 'a day' and lived a reckless life of rebellion trying to cover up pain and just forget

I still am super cautious and God is well aware because I tell Him often enough...not that He doesn't know it ;)

there are things I will never say or share...not even privately....but they have pretty much created a foundation under me from which
I build

I think you know the few that I have been against,, Even in those threads.. You now too have been fighting their perversion of not only the gospel. But the gifts of God..

Sadly, As usual, when it gets out of hand, everyone gets involved,, and as you said, they never solves anything

Thanks for the hugs, several here would rather strangle me ;) It's returned BTW, the hugs, not the strangling. :)

Yes, it got heated in the tongues thread, and it is not a salvation issue. When I was pretty much accused of sorcery by one poster, who blocked me after one insult after another, ya I answered back. He particularly lost it when he mentioned a favorite Gospel singer of his and I said I know him personally, have for around 30 yrs, and informed him he is a tongue talking Pentecostal. Ohhhh the horror!!! There is no Santa Claus, boo hoo hoo. Ridiculous. Can't fellowship with someone because they believe, or don't believe in tongues. Some much spiritual immaturity.

You're right, I've ministered in over a thousand churches. Never once did we tell anyone how to be saved the Pentecostal way. In fact many didn't even know we were Pentecostal! Because we weren't trying to get people to speak in tongues, we were trying to lead people to Christ, out of bondage, to be saved, delivered and healed.I wonder how many people banging their gums here have gone out in the highways and biways to compel people to come in. Because by the attitudes I see here, I highly doubt it. How many open air services, how many have even stepped outside their own church door. Folks if you can't find common ground with brothers and sisters here and have no fellowship, how in the world do you figure you're going to win people to Christ?! Nothing I see in the BDF would make me want to become a part of the "family of God". It's honestly discouraging.

with regard to the blue above

that dude told us all that God had him write everything and he was more than a little nasty at times

thing is, and as I pointed out to him which was ignored of course, he was actually acting as a prophet by saying God told him to do such and such or anything at all and make it public and basically say 'says God;

for me? what I believe?

everything we need to know to determine if something is actually from God or not is in the 66 books of the Bible

if God speaks to someone and it is revelation outside of scripture, like money angels or blessing angels or any kind of angel that seems to be so popular today...you may have heard it...God is sending angels of prophecy or monetary rewards or whatever...that is simply NOT God at all as the Bible indicates we do not pray for or at angels...and they are God's messengers to do with as He pleases and at HIS bidding only!

there is so much crank crap out there anymore it's a wonder the devil doesn't get on top of highest steeple and proclaim victory

I discourage anyone from seeking signs...seek God. the rest is up to Him

I so appreciate your last paragraph. that is where it is at.

People seem to forget that the Bible says the signs will follow us, not the other way round. I hadn't heard of the new "blessing angels" but I'm not surprised. Seen and heard it all. I was telling hubby of one incident in a church we were in. He could not believe what happened. He was astounded. I have lots of stories mind you.

I totally agree, if it's not in the Word it's not to be trusted. Another things people forget is that prophets that gave false prophesies in the Bible were stoned to death. I think we'd all be a tad more careful if we our words would get us stoned. And for you younger folk I don't mean the plant based high, I mean they held a rock concert in your honor, till you died.

I stay out of the discussions on tongues, and rapture/end times stuff, too, but that is not what this post is about ;) I just was to say, EG, that I have noticed an improvement in how you deal with people, not that you back down from the Truth of your theological position (which I largely agree with), but that I perceive a decided difference in your attitude toward those you disagree with. This post is made in the hope of encouraging you further in that direction, and not meant to cause offense :geek:
